Teaching Experience Student Teacher , Baton Rouge, LA January 2012 - May 2012 LSU Lab School (Uhigh) o Kindergarten class in a private school in the urban setting of Baton Rouge (on LSU's campus). 25 students. 4 full days a week/40 hours a week; 500+ hours o I planned and taught 9 consecutive full days of teaching as well as 6 other full days (15 days total) and had a total of 300+ teaching hours for the semester. o I was considered a main teacher of the class and helped implement and facilitate lessons and centers throughout the day every day. o I also planned and implemented an entire unit (including centers), collaborated with my teachers on many lessons/ideas, met and communicated with parents, assessed children and documented development, attended all teacher meetings/workshops and participated in school events.
Student Teacher, St. Francisville, LA August 2011 - December 2011 Bains Elementary o 2nd grade classroom of 23 children in a rural area outside of Baton Rouge for 4 full days/40 hours a week = 500+ hours total. o I taught 20 full days, 9 of which were consecutive (planned and implemented all lessons) and had a total of 300+ teaching hours over the semester. o I was considered a main teacher of the class, taught lessons daily (reading groups, math/sci/ELA), and facilitated lessons when not lead teaching. o I also planned and implemented an entire unit, collaborated with my teacher on many lessons/ideas, met and communicated with parents, assessed children and documented development, attended all teacher meetings/workshops and participated in school events.
Student Intern, Zachary, LA January 2011 - May 2011 Northwestern Elementary o 1st grade classroom in suburban area of Baton Rouge for 2 full days/16 hours a week = 225 hours total. o I mainly observed and assisted the teacher with her daily responsibilities. o I also facilitated centers, aided with behavior management/teaching lessons, and taught teacher‐prepared lessons when appropriate. o I also created and implemented a center, created and taught some lessons (shared and guided reading), and taught 2 full days. Student Intern, Geismar, LA August 2010 - December 2010 Spanish Lake Primary o Pre‐kindergarten inclusion class of 12 children in a school in suburban area of Baton Rouge for 3 half days/15 hours a week = 250 hours total. o While I was in this classroom I mainly observed and assisted the teacher and paraprofessionals in their duties. o I also facillitated centers, taught teacher‐prepared lessons (small and whole group), and documented student knowledge and growth. o Because it was an inclusion classroom, I was also able to experience a variety of chlidren with special needs and the IEP process.

As a regular employee I prepared and served customers their frozen desserts. I also stocked and cleaned when necessary. As a shift manager, I perform all of the same duties as a regular employee while overseeing the shift. This means I am entrusted with the money, make any major decisions of the shift, and ensure that all tasks were carried out correctly.

Tutored young children, K-2nd grade, 3 different elementary schools in and around Baton Rouge (Cohn, Magnolia Woods, and Westminster). Active member of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA). Attended professional conferences: ACEI Conference (March 2011), LAEYC Conference (July 2011), and LAECA Conference (October 2011). I have participated in a KaBOOM! playground build in New Orleans to promote outdoor play in young children and advocate for the importance of nature and outdoor activity in childrenʼs lives (see link on my website).
