Collette & Joy House of Collette was founded by Collette Nakamyuka. Collette was born in Kampala-Uganda and as a child discovered her talent and passion for design by creating clothes for dolls made from banana leaves using her mother’s old clothes. She never lost her passion or her commitment to build a career in fashion. Collette made her dream come alive by attending the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago. While at the Academy she met her partner Rejoice Adevor. Rejoice “Joy” Adevor is co-founder in charge of all production for House of Collette. Joy is also a graduate of the Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago. Joy has an amazing life story that provides a perfect foundation for her commitment to the growth and success of House of Collette. Joy previously attended the Anlo vocational and technical institute in Keta-Ghana. In 2002, Joy opened a fashion vocational training center “Rejoice Fashion and Learning Center.” Since Chicago is the home of House of Collette, she decided to develop a line of Shirts and sweatshirts with embroidered phrases that embodied some of the culture, style and history of Chicago. Some of the phrases on the shirts will prompt laughter, others tears and others controversy. 10 ways for Thicker Hair- Naturally Hair loss is a common problem nowadays. As hair is regarded as an asset that enhances one’s physical appearance, balding or thinning hair is a problem that many want to correct as soon as possible. Some of the common factors contributing to thinning hair are excessive physical or emotional stress, hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, pollution, allergies, use of wrong hair care products, poor hair care routine, and heredity. If you have thinning hair, there is no need to spend money on expensive treatments and products. There are many natural remedies to help you get thicker and voluminous hair.
1.
Eggs
Regular protein treatment is essential to enjoy stronger and thicker hair. For a protein hair treatment, the best ingredient is eggs. Take one or two eggs, depending on the length of your hair, and beat it properly. Apply the egg on wet hair and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes. Wash your hair with lukewarm water and shampoo. You can use this protein treatment once or twice a week. Another option is to mix together one egg yolk, one tablespoon of a hair oil of your choice and two tablespoons of water. Use this mixture to massage your scalp thoroughly. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy thicker hair.
2. Olive Oil
Olive oil will also add body to your hair. Plus, it will help soften and strengthen your tresses. Massage your hair and scalp with warm olive oil and leave it on for at least 30 to 45 minutes. Rinse it out thoroughly and wash your hair using a mild shampoo. You can also leave the oil on your hair overnight and then shampoo your hair the next morning. Another option is to mix olive oil with some honey and apply the mixture on your hair. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes and then wash your hair. Use either or these remedies once or twice a week.
3. Avocado
Avocado can also be used to get thicker hair as it moisturizes and adds body to your hair. Plus, the vitamin E in this fruit contributes to the overall health of the hair shaft. Make a mixture of one mashed avocado, one mashed banana and one tablespoon of olive oil. Massage it on your scalp and leave the mixture on your hair for about 30 minutes so that the nutrients are absorbed by the scalp. Finally, rinse it out and shampoo your hair.
4. Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seeds can also be used to prevent hair loss and enjoy better hair growth. Soak two to three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water for eight to 10 hours. Grind the soaked seeds to make a fine paste. You can also mix two teaspoons of coconut milk in it. Apply the paste on your hair and scalp and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes before washing your hair with lukewarm water. When done weekly on a regular basis, this remedy will prevent dry scalp and help you enjoy thicker hair.
5. Indian Gooseberry
The anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and exfoliating properties present in Indian gooseberry can help a lot in maintaining a healthy scalp and better hair growth rate. Mix one tablespoon of Indian gooseberry or amla powder in two tablespoons of coconut oil and heat until boiling. Strain the oil and massage it onto your scalp before going to bed. The next morning, shampoo your hair as usual. Do this on a weekly basis.
6. Castor Oil
Massaging your scalp regularly with coldpressed castor oil is one of the easiest ways to get thicker hair naturally. Due to its high viscosity, it coats the hair thoroughly and protects against hair fall. Plus, being high in vitamin E and fatty acids it promotes hair growth. Heat a mixture of equal parts of castor oil and coconut oil. Simply using castor oil will also work but it tends to be too thick. Apply it on your head and scalp and massage in circular motions. Comb your hair to distribute the oil throughout your hair and remove tangles.
20
Cover your hair with a towel moistened with warm water. Leave it on for at least one hour and then shampoo your hair as usual. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy lustrous and thick hair. 7. Aloe Vera (Aloe vera gel) Another very popular ingredient that can be used to enjoy thicker hair is aloe vera, thanks to its moisturizing quality. It will also help restore the pH balance of the scalp. Extract the gel from one or two aloe vera leaves and rub the gel onto your scalp. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes before rinsing your hair with lukewarm water. Do this once or twice a week on a regular basis. Another option is mix two teaspoons of coconut milk in fresh aloe vera gel and apply it to your scalp. Leave it on for about half an hour before rinsing it off and shampooing your hair. Repeat once or twice a week. You can also consume one tablespoon of aloe vera juice daily on an empty stomach to enjoy better hair growth and overall health.
8. Henna Leaves
Another easy way to get thicker hair naturally is to apply henna. Henna leaves will give your hair a rich natural color and make it thicker, softer and less prone to breakage . Grind a handful of fresh henna leaves with a little water to make a fine paste. Let it sit for two hours and then apply it to your hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap. After a few hours, wash your hair thoroughly and shampoo your hair.
Another option is to mix sufficient water in henna powder to make a paste with a yogurt-like consistency. Instead of plain water, you can also use green tea for better conditioning. Keep the henna paste aside overnight. The next day, add one raw egg and two teaspoons of lemon juice to this mixture. Apply it to your hair and leave it on until it dries completely. Finally, wash it off and shampoo your hair. Note: Make sure to wear your gloves when using henna and apply the paste using a hair brush to avoid staining.
9. Flaxseed
Being rich in omega 3 fatty acids and protein, flaxseed can also help in promoting thicker naturally. Soak one-quarter cup of flaxseeds in water overnight. The next morning, boil the flaxseeds in two cups of water over high heat while stirring occasionally. When the thickens to a consistency of foamy jelly then turn off the heat and strain the gel. You can also add a few drops of an essential oil to it. Allow it to cool and then use it as a hair gel. This flaxseed gel is particularly good for those with curly or wavy hair. Even eating freshly ground flaxseeds can help promote shiny and thicker hair. You can also take flaxseed oil.
10. A Healthy Diet
Rich in protein and various vitamins and minerals is an essential prerequisite for healthy and thicker hair. Protein and B vitamins, in particular, promote thicker and longer hair. So, include more milk, eggs, Greek yogurt (has more protein than the regular yogurt), poultry, fatty fish, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and fresh green vegetables in your diet. Follow these remedies religiously and you will notice improvement in your hair texture and thickness in a matter of weeks.

Strip Lashes 1.
The following items will be used: Adhesive for False Lashes, Strip Lashes, Mascara, Tweezers
2. Take your eyelash glue and apply a small portion of it onto the back of the eyelash strip. 3. Position the lash exactly over the natural eyelash line to get a seamlessly full eyelash. 4. Use the backside of your tweezers and softly run it over the strip lash to make sure that the position is correct and that it sits tightly.
Individual Lashes 1.. The following items will be used: Adhesive for False Lashes, Individual Lashes (not included), Mascara, Tweezers
5. Finally, apply mascara to the strip lashes. This is an optional step and therefore you may choose not to do so.
2. Take your tweezers and dip the individual lashes in the eyelash glue and position it where the natural lashes are sparse. 3. Start by applying the lashes from the outer corner of the eyes and work your way inwards.
4. Use the backside of your tweezers and softly run it over the lashes to make sure that the position is correct and that it sits tightly. You can use shorter lashes towards the inner corner of the eyes but most of the times you will only use a cluster of individual lashes at the outer corners for that attractive sultry look. Make sure that the gap between the real and false lashes is even so that they look natural.

Men’s Hair Care You may have the perfect hairstyle, but that coif won’t go very far if you don’t take care of your hair. Proper hair maintenance for men goes beyond slapping on some shampoo and running a comb through your tresses; it involves using the right products, getting regular haircuts, and taking care of your scalp. Once hairs sprout from your scalp, it's no longer growing -- they're just growing older. Hair on the end of a strand, or shaft, can be up to six years old. It's seen a lot of wear and tear. Also, hair naturally loses moisture with age. The protective outer covering (the cuticle) can split at the ends, which can move farther up the shaft and lead to further weakness, dryness and damage. A regular trim helps nip the problem in the bud. Hair strength varies with genes, washing routine and other treatments, and exposure to sun and heat, so some guys can go longer between cuts than others. Because the cuticle reflects light, dull hair is a sign that the cuticle is cracking up. Act soon to avoid a head full of frizzies.
I emphasize this a lot and many men are starting to get more conscious of this product: conditioner. Conditioners are necessities because a healthy scalp means healthy hair — and not enough men know that.

As any young man coming into adulthood, he comes to appreciate the joy and experiences of going to the barbershop. Whether to get their hair cut or faded on a frequent basis. Or joy of coming together and gathering different male perspectives on life, love, finances, career and goals from young and old. It becomes a place where most men can gather together for counseling and male bonding. As well as provide awareness to the importance of maintaining and living a healthy lifestyle, proper grooming techniques, and to educate them on products and services that are available to them as well. The Barber is one of the most talented and skillful trade men that showcase their artistic hair-cutting abilities, all the while sharing their insight on life’s challenges Many barbershops still give traditional single blade razor shaves. You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced the pleasures of a great shave at a barber. First the barber wraps a hot towel around your face. Next, the barber massaged in a lemon based cream to clean out your pores. After that, several more hot towels are applied. By then, you should be feeling nice and relaxed, and on the verge of falling asleep relaxed. For those with beards - The barber then massages in some cocoa butter to soften your beard. Next, the barber brushed a warm lather into your beard that smelled like manly and not like that crappy artificial goo you buy in a can.
The barber then takes a piece of razor sharp metal and scraps your beard off for the closest and best shave. Allowing another man to hold a razor to your neck is a good way to remind yourself that you’re alive. To finish it all off, they will get another hot towel wrap it along your face along with a final face massage with a soothing vanishing cream. When you step out of the shop, You will feel like a new man, ready to take on the world. This barber battle was created to put skillful artists to the test and compete against each other with their clippers to showcase their artistic hair-cutting abilities, with winners awarded trophies and crowned the creators of the best cuts in town. Hair Destiny and The Barber Battle was created by Troy Smith, The Barber Stylist from U Next Barber Academy. by Curtis 45 Smith, the personal barber/groom

Syleena Johnson Do you prefer a natural or a fully made over look? Usually when I am at home I prefer a naturally made look Do you prefer lip gloss or lipstick? Lip glass or lip gloss is what I prefer but when I am on stage I am wild so to prevent my hair from sticking to my face I use a lip stain. My favorite lip gloss is by Bisheaba out of New York.
We had the chance to catch up with Syleena Johnson in the city of Chicago at the W- Hotel as she was hitting the city hard promoting her new Album “Couples Therapy”. We wanted to get her beauty secrets on what keeps her looking fly. While she gets deep in the streets promoting her cd. From On-Air Interviews, Album Release Party’s, Television appearances, in store in person’s and more. Mrs. Johnson was still able to take a moment out of her schedule for a quick interview. When asked how does fashion, hair and makeup play apart in your lifestyle? She stated fashion, hair and makeup play a big part in her life. If she is not at home, she is always dressed and tries to keep up with the latest trends. She is very fashion conscious of what she is wearing and how she looks. What skincare line do you use? I only use dermatologist recommend medication because I struggle with acne and my face will break out if someone has dirty brushes.
What do you do as a daily regimen to keep yourself looking beautiful? Rest, trying to get as much rest as possible whenever I can. Being on the road can sometimes way a toll on your body. So getting adequate amounts of rest is essential.
Any beauty Secrets? Just getting as much water and rest and a healthy diet. Do you have a personal stylist? I consistently stay with the same stylists. Christian Balenciago is my makeup artist out of Atlanta. If and when I can travel with him I will. But “ I am from the old school, if need be, I can beat my own face”.
Advice on Success? I am not successful because of my career but because I have a sense of peace, family and friends. I constantly seek God first in everything I do. Whats next for you? On the road working Chapter 6 Couples Therapy was just release Monday Oct 3,2014 I am getting ready to release a book. There are alot of things that I am working on.
