First mobile platform trade show

The region’s first event dedicated to the mobile platform is ready to showcase the latest in the sector along with free seminars where business growth is the key theme

T

he region’s first tradeshow for mobile technology and digital professionals in the Middle East, The Mobile Show, presented by Mobily, is set to take place at the Madinat Arena, Dubai, on April 17 and 18, 2012. The inaugural two-day event brings together the biggest names in mobile to debate issues and inform professionals in the Middle East about business growth potential through the mobile. Event Organiser, Matthew Wallhead, General Manager of Terrapinn commented, “The advent of 4G networks and the prolific rise in smartphone capabilities are changing the ways we live, work, learn and play.

This is creating an opportunity for all players in the mobile ecosystem to position themselves at the centre of many new industries — marketing, media and entertainment, healthcare and education. The size of these opportunities and the speed at which this is happening is undebatable. However, the business models are not clear and the ecosystem is not fully formed. The single biggest mission of The Mobile Show is to provide a platform and an environment to create this change.” The event will include a freeto-attend exhibition with over 45 exhibitors and a series of free seminars. It will run in conjunction with a number of paidto-attend conferences to suit

all players in the mobile ecosystem; from app developers, to consumer brands, through to game developers, Telcos, broadcasters, banks, regulators, mobile tech experts, mobile technology vendors, and device manufacturers. Wallhead continued, “The exhibition is a great place to get an industry snapshot, with some of the mobile industry leaders like Samsung, BlackBerry and Nokia demonstrating the latest in mobile technology, and sharing ways to exploit the mobile platform by deploying cutting edge technologies, like augmented reality which will revolutionise the way customers interact with products and services.”

The conference will host over 85 speakers from around the world across five sub-streams including Planet of the Apps, Mobile Advertising World, MEntertainment, M-Health and M-Commerce. “I am personally very excited to be incredibly entertained by Wonho Chung interviewing the big names on the big issues from a unique perspective. The content will be delivered in a format the region has genuinely never seen before and I guarantee people will be entertained and inspired,” Wallhead added. “It’s such a fantastic prospect to have so many of the key players in the mobile world come to the Middle East for the first time.

This event really will be pivotal in pushing the regional mobile market forward.” Ensuring that visitors walk away with a full understanding of the landscape, The Mobile Show will be co-located with The Internet Show. Both exhibitions will share the same floor

space and are free for all to attend. The Internet Show will also host two of its own conferences, Social Media World and Online Retail World. For more information, to register for the expo or book your conference visit www.terrapinn.com/tmsme
