LGBT + Sex eduation in Vietnam

Puberty is the time when the youth identify themselves and begin to raise question about sex knowledge. However, students receive little proper sex education and guide from schools and family, resulting in insufficient sex knowledge. Students can't UNDERSTAND themselves and others, PROTECT themselves. Misleading infomation from media/ movies together with insufficient knowledge result in prejudice and wrong perception from society toward LGBT.

S.E.P.2013 - Interns

Before, I came here I heard many bad things about Vietnam, like it is a communist country so government is bad, traffic is terrible blah blah. But from my last 7 weeks experience, I would like to say that those People were completely wrong! My past 7 weeks were the best 7 weeks in my life! Prakash Chakra - India Teaching sex education at high足schools, shelters, and a pagoda left a great impression on me. My wish for this project is to continue in the future and achieve the kind of impact and sustainability, it is striving for, and if people continue working on it in a dedicated way, I can only imagine for it to succeed. Nicki - Germany

S.E.P.2013 - Interns If someone asks me to choose the best experience in 2013, or even in my life, I will definitely say “I went to Vietnam, stayed with local family, worked with local Vietnamese. I loved working with AIESECers and interns from different countries. Two months is not really enough

time to get to know each other but I cried a lot at airport, still feel sad when I think back my last day in Saigon. All AIESERers were incredibly kind to me. They really work hard for interns and their own tasks. Interns from different backgrounds and characteristics gave me a strong motivation as a team member and for my career. I was fully satisfied with AIESEC programmes and support in HCMC soI am planning to apply for GIP internship program something related to my major in university. Gemma Kwon - Korea

S.E.P.2013 - Interns

During the internship,we went to the shelter and school to promote the sex knowledge. I consider sex education as one of important topics in the world nowadays. And that’s the reason why I choose this project. Then,we also taught English to the students in Cu Chi.I think it would be the most Huan - Taiwan special experience in this project because it is my first time to be a teacher. . I don’t regret any moment of my stay in Vietnam and taking part in the S.E.P. project was an unique experience. After this summer internship I know I can achieve whatever I want. I just have the believe in myself and others and work really hard. Andrea Willems - The Netherlands

S.E.P.2013 - Interns

S.E.P. has been a very meaningful experience, I really feel like we’ve made an impact in the high schools we visited and the pagoda. Young Vietnamese people are eager to learn, they constantly ask a lot of questions because they want to learn more. By being educated, they now want take responsibility for their acts by knowing exactly how to protect themselves. This is Melanie Le Normand outstanding. I wanted the project to be even French better, even bigger and even more powerful.

S.E.P.2014 - Interns

My advice is: do, contribute, experience as much as possible. Having the sense of belonging from experiencing the different culture and the stories made me grow a lot and because of that, I chose to contribute more for S.E.P. project and Vietnam society. I challenged myself to get out of my comfort zone: educating the youth about sex Janice - Malaysia education, being a platform in Camp for students to speak up and share. I'm grateful for being here and fulfill how little things I witnessed and did impact someone. I'm not telling you it's gonna be easy I'm telling you it's gonna be worthy
