C a r e e r G o a ls
My aim is to become a registered architect by the age of 25. After studying architecture for the last 3yrs I have developed a strong interest for architecture and design. It is because of this interest, that I have deep respect and love old historic buildings. In recent times the government and private Barbados have begun saving derelict structures, it is my aim to assist in the restoration efforts.

Curacao Museum of Contemporary Art
Light, bright, open and with a low profile; are some of the features I wish to achieve with my building. As we look at the city of Willemstad in plan, we see that the houses are connected by private areas and alleys. I interpreted this as a series of pavilions that are connected by courtyards, roof decks and corridors. After analysing the site, I noticed there were clear views of the sea on the south of the site ,as well as a strong connection to the Round Market, the Old Market; the bus station and the War Memorial Statue in the north of the site. Each of the axes played a significant role in the orientation of my building. I chose to reference the Round Market since it is one of the few contemporary structures in the vicinity. It has a
strong brutalist influence which gives it an artistic presence; hence, I angled my building towards this center of trade and culture. The curvature of the building seeks to welcome patrons into this grand space. Each unique corner seeks to intrigue you and make you wonder what lies inside.

The National Music Museum of Jamaica
Music is the heart of every culture. It is the rhythmic vibrations that brings us together. As the gem of Jamaican society, it is fitting that we encapsulate it in the form of a museum. At The heart of the museum is a Pentagonal gem that represents the five genres of Jamaican music: Ska, Mento, Reggae, Dancehall and Rock-steady. It is cladded in a brass skin to symbolise the wind instruments used. The intricate pattern was developed to showcase the dynamic nature of Jamaican music, it is constantly evolving. The building was designed to maximise on passive cooling in the public spaces and reduce to need of active cooling. The Foyer opens onto to a courtyard on the ground floor and it was designed with a series of operable windows on the first floor to allow for natural ventilation. The trellis over the green roof is outfitted with a solar cell
integrated into the roof sheeting. The auditorium is insulated with a high-performance soundproofing. It is made Recycled natural cotton fibers. Rainwater collected from the roof of the auditorium and the green roof. The water is collected from the roof, filtered and stored on the ground floor before it is distributed to the toilets and irrigation system. The gray water from the faucets will be treated and diverted to the irrigation system. The first-floor balcony was designed with a green roof to help with the cooling of the service area. It also provides fantastic views to the west of the of the harbour. The bar located on the south-west corner takes advantage other the views of the harbour and the park to the west. Located inside the bar is the Broadcasting Studio. The gives the guest a first-hand experience of the inner working of the music industry.

Grenada National Library & Cultural Center
Like the city of st. George’s this structure seeks to preserve the island’s heritage for generations to come. By utilising the old French city grid, this building attempts to mimic the past while adapting to modern concepts. The building will try to link the past to present. The abandoned residence was retained and renovated to accommodate the new functions. The aim is to use the facades of this building as a backdrop for the atrium. The Library caters to all members of society and can accommodate a number of cultural actives. Additionally, the 2nd and 3rd floors of the function as an after school activity center for the schools along H.A. Blaize street. Site Plan
