I am Mary Kom. I am from the Kom tribe of Manipur. My father is a farmer. He is also the person who inspired me to take up boxing.

When I was 15 I moved to Imphal and met my coach K. Konsa Meitei. Initially, my parents did not like that I wanted to become a boxer because it was a boy’s sport, but I proved them wrong by winning my first medal for them in 2000.

My career came to a pause when I got married. I had children and led a happy married life. But life did not stop there, I participated in more boxing competitions and finally achieved my dream of winning a medal in the Olympics for my country. I believe in simple living and healthy eating lifestyle.

I was born in Budapest to Indian and Hungarian parents. I have loved drawing ever since I was a little girl. I made the painting called young girls when i was 19.

I enjoyed painting human figures, especially women. One of my paintings was even made into a stamp by the Indian Government.

I was born in Karnal, Haryana. My favourite thing to do as a kid was to visit flying schools and see the aeroplanes fly.

I did my aeronautical engineering at Punjab Engineering College and later on, went to America to do my Master’s and PhD.

I started working for NASA and became an astronaut. I went to space in the Columbia flight STS-87. I believe, we should aim for stars and work hard to achieve our goal

I was born in the village of Naigaon in Maharashtra. I had three brothers and sisters. My husband and a best friend taught me how to read and write.

My education led me to become a teacher. I studied to become a teacher at two different schools in Pune. After my training, i went to become the first woman teacher and headmistress of India

Later on, me and my husband opened a school together in Bhide Wada where we inspired many young girls to get educated.

I was born to a Bhotiya family in Uttrakhand. I have five brothers and sisters. When i was 15 I started to practice mountaineering. I was encouraged by my school principle to pursue mountaineering further.

I became the first woman to climb mount Gangotri and mount Rudragaria. These achievements inspired me to work harder towords my goal.

I finally climbed Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world and achieved my dream. I believe we can overcome any challenge with determination
