SCIENTIST RETREAT
A research center located in Mount Vetter that serves both for astronomers as well as a public education center. The project derives from a form that imitates the existing site of the mountain peaks. The varying experience in ceiling heights enhances the views it captures. A ramp is integrated to make the whole experience accessible up towards the summit. The ramp itself has a contrast relationship with the landscape creating a zigzag pattern.

HEADWORKS BRIDGE
FIFTH YEAR STUDIO | FALL 2022 | NOAM SARAGOSTI | PARTNER: HILARY KUSUMA
A pedestrian and cycling bridge that spans across the Los Angeles River to the site of the Headworks Water Infrastructure. The two spiral ramps offer two distinct experiences as they have different scales and envelope strategies. The ramps spiral down creating pavilions inside for visitors to enjoy the surrounding area. In response to the noise disruption from the highway, the smaller circular ramp is coated with solid metal panels that act as noise buffers. In contrast, the bigger ramp has an open circulation with a steel ribbing envelope allowing visitors a full view of the river, park, and the future water infrastructure.

MIXED-USE DESIGN
The concept originates from the checkered box idea that translates to how some of the spaces get protruded and some get carved out. It uses the terracing strategy as a way to break down the scale of the building to show sensitivity to the surrounding context. This strategy results in semi-private outdoor spaces that can be shared between the units.

THE CANTILEVER
THIRD YEAR STUDIO | FALL 2020 | ROBERTO SHEINBERG
A project with an emphasis on the rigidity of the structural design creates a challenge in designing viewing platforms through incorporating different structural elements. The form of the cantilever directs the circulation as it moves up to different viewing platforms providing different viewing experiences. The wood screens implemented control the amount of light that enters through the spaces.

WATER INFRASTRUCTURE
FIFTH YEAR STUDIO | FALL 2022 | NOAM SARAGOSTI | PARTNER: HILARY KUSUMA
Located in the Tom LaBonge Headworks Water Complex , a water purification facility as well as an education center is open to public to educate about the reliability of recycled water. Six structural modules are created from an array of simple geometry, thus creating playful hierarchy for different usage of program. These modules are then combined producing L-shaped buildings that are placed on the site based on axial relationship with the LA river and the water reservoir. The arc-shaped modules are particularly used as a circulation tool between all of the combined modules.
