Australia’s reigning Champion Sire 2020-21, Written Tycoon stands his second season at Yulong in 2022, bringing proven star quality to an elite young roster. A winner of the Group 2 Todman Stakes, Written Tycoon continues to produce stakes winners year after year. Australia’s leading first season sire in 2010-11, and leading sire of two-year-olds in 2015-16, Written Tycoon has sired a total of 742 winners from 975 runners to date and continues to emerge as a sire of sires. His Group 1 Golden Slipper-winning son Capitalist is now a Group 1-producing sire, Written By, whose yearlings sold for up to $410,000 in 2022 and Ole Kirk, one of the most sought-after sires in the Hunter Valley, represent him at stud. He is the sire of 50 individual stakes winners while his standout progeny have delivered 17 stakes wins in the 2021-22 season, including scintillating performances from elite fillies Coolangatta and Enthaar. During his first season at Yulong, he covered some of Australasia’s most prolific mares including 14-time Group 1 winner Melody Belle, top sprinters In Her Time and Viddora, Greysful Glamour, and elite juvenile Catch Me, amongst others. Written Tycoon’s yearlings continue to be hot commodities in the sale ring, averaging over $325,00 and selling for up to $1.4 million in 2022.
