At Kiddie Academy® Educational Child Care, we believe caring and learning go hand in hand. That’s why our educators are equipped to deliver the most comprehensive learning and supportive environment possible. Children learn throughout the day, including playtime, because the opportunity to learn is always present.

Life Essentials® helps prepare your child for life.

Life Essentials® is our proprietary curriculum designed to nurture, educate, and inspire your child. This unique, holistic curriculum focuses on the development of 6 key outcomes: Character, Confidence, Curiosity, Connection, Critical Thinking, and Creative Expression. Life Essentials’ supporting programs, methods, activities, and techniques help children blossom into prepared students and good citizens. In other words, our curriculum gives your child a happier, healthier, more wellrounded foundation for the future.

2-Year-Old Curriculum

Exploring My World

Children never stop learning. From the time they enter our Academy until they leave, children learn through interactions with their peers and educators in small and large groups. They discover and learn in our developmentally appropriate learning centers, as well as outside on our age-appropriate playgrounds. But it doesn’t stop here. Our goal is to make learning fun, inspiring children to continue the exploration of their world even after they go home.

Kiddie Academy® understands that 2-year-olds want to be independent. They want to explore, experiment, imagine, and interact with their peers and educators. We took all of this into consideration when developing the Exploring My World curriculum.

Science

Kiddie Academy educators encourage our 2-yearolds to explore their natural environment, investigate how things grow and change, and use their senses and simple tools to test how things work. Our children have opportunities to develop scientific problem-solving skills and study the effects that actions have on objects. Our educators also assist the children with activities designed to protect the environment.

Mathematics

Educators engage children in counting, describing quantities, using positional words, solving mathematical problems, and predicting how things fit and move through space. They also guide them through activities that help children build one-to-one correspondence, sorting, patterning, and simple measurement skills.

Language and Literacy

Two-year-olds are constantly increasing their communication skills and improving their vocabulary. We create daily opportunities for them to be immersed in language and literacy, through

storybook readings, songs, finger plays, puppet shows, flannel-board activities, language games, and engaging interactions. Our educators provide literacy-rich experiences because we know that children’s language abilities affect many aspects of learning and development. Children also are introduced to the Spanish language through our Everyday Spanish curriculum, which includes an emphasis on conversational speaking, as well as vocabulary development.

Social and Emotional Development

Kiddie Academy helps children build their independence and learn to manage their emotions and responses when interacting with peers and educators. Our educators encourage children to demonstrate empathy and compassion for others, and to form positive, nurturing relationships.

Gross and Fine Motor Development

Children’s independence continues to develop as they practice their motor skills. Their fine motor

skills are enhanced by learning to feed themselves with forks and spoons during our family style meals. They also practice writing, using scissors and completing puzzles. The learning continues when their gross motor skills are heightened by playing on our age-appropriate playgrounds. Outside, they run, climb, jump, walk backwards, and throw and kick a ball. Children also love to dance and have fun with the many musical activities incorporated into Kiddie Academy’s daily routines.

Character Education

At Kiddie Academy, we believe it is important to introduce children to a wide variety of character traits. Each month we focus on a positive value, such as honesty, generosity, and patience. This helps children better understand the society we live in and sets a foundation for their transformation into caring citizens.
