At 4 years old, children are preparing for school. We get them ready to go.
Kiddie Academy® Educational Child Care is a tight-knit community where we prepare your growing 4-year-old for kindergarten. Our Ready, Set, Go curriculum is designed around weekly themes that include educator-guided and childled activities. Children learn valuable skills in math, science, social studies, language arts, social and emotional skills, and physical development. Everything your child learns each day is reinforced and extended throughout the year to get them ready for school.

4-Year-Old Curriculum
Ready, Set, Go
The learning process goes on all day long at Kiddie Academy®. Through our Life Essentials® curriculum, children work at their own pace. They exercise their senses of discovery and exploration in our learning centers and outside on our age-appropriate playground. Kiddie Academy understands that 4-year-olds are eager to learn new things. They’re enthusiastic to make new friends and are able to do many more tasks independently. We take all of this into consideration within the Ready, Set, Go curriculum.
Language Arts and Literacy
At 4 years old, children begin to realize that they can put letters together to make words, and words together to make sentences. Children practice writing skills while writing their names and simple words. Four-year-olds love to sing, recite poems, and share stories about their lives. We let your child lead the way as our expert educators give encouragement to guide your child along.
Mathematics
In the Ready, Set, Go curriculum, your child will count and compare objects and groups of objects. Your 4-year-old will make graphs, complete patterns, and measure objects with conventional and non-conventional measuring tools.
Science
Four-year-old children are naturally inquisitive, so we created the science portion of the Ready, Set, Go curriculum to meet their needs. Children will participate in the scientific process by engaging in experiments, making predictions and observations, and data collecting. They have opportunities to explore and discover the world around them.
Social and Emotional Development
Children begin to develop meaningful relationships by the time they’re 4 years old. They begin identifying their feelings and emotions. At Kiddie Academy, we encourage children to express their feelings and emotions in a safe and loving environment. Children are given tools to resolve conflicts and to show understanding and empathy of others. Our curriculum provides your child with the skills to navigate their world with independence and confidence.
Gross and Fine Motor Development
We know that learning happens all the time, both inside and outside the classroom. At 4 years old, children have increased control of their fine motor skills. They use crayons to turn scribbles into letters and words. They can zip, button, and snap their
own clothes. During family style dining, 4-year-olds will serve themselves, pass food to others, and use forks and spoons to eat. When your child is outside on our age-appropriate playground, their energy and creativity strengthens their gross motor skills as they run with friends, climb up the ladder and slide down the slide, walk like a gorilla, and jump like a kangaroo.
Character Education
At Kiddie Academy, we believe it’s important to introduce children to a wide variety of character traits. To further your child’s character development, we focus on a positive value each month, such as honesty, generosity, and patience. This helps them better understand the society we live in and sets a foundation for their transformation into caring citizens.
