At Kiddie Academy® Educational Child Care, we strongly believe in the formation of trusting bonds between toddlers and their educators. Because of the tight-knit community we offer, our educators will have a deeper understanding of your toddler’s personality. Our Discovering Me curriculum is designed to develop and reinforce each toddler’s individual needs so children learn at their own pace.

Life Essentials® helps prepare your child for life.

Life Essentials® is our proprietary curriculum designed to nurture, educate, and inspire your child. This unique, holistic curriculum focuses on the development of 6 key outcomes: Character, Confidence, Curiosity, Connection, Critical Thinking, and Creative Expression. Life Essentials’ supporting programs, methods, activities, and techniques help children blossom into prepared students and good citizens. In other words, our curriculum gives your child a happier, healthier, more wellrounded foundation for the future.

Discovering Me Toddler Curriculum

At Kiddie Academy®, we understand that toddlers are very active. They’re on the go and their natural curiosity prompts them to constantly explore. Knowing that, our team of highly trained educators guides toddlers through sensory-based learning experiences, encouraging discovery, and letting children make their own choices.

With Life Essentials®, what your toddler learns throughout the day reinforces what he or she is being taught at home. We look for teachable moments as your toddler plays, helping your child learn all day long. Our Discovering Me curriculum focuses on six areas of development: Social and Emotional, Cognitive, Physical Development and Health, Language and Communication, Creative Expression and Sensory, and Outdoor Learning and Nature.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) are infused throughout our Life Essentials curriculum. A toddler experiences STEM learning through exploration in the classroom and outdoors, by building a curiosity about the natural world, and by learning about how things work. Toddlers have opportunities to start comparing objects by size, practice beginning counting skills, explore building and constructing materials, and use their senses to observe and predict as they’re experiencing the world around them.

Social and Emotional Development

Social and Emotional Development provides the foundation for our Discovering Me curriculum. Toddlers will increase their self-awareness, confidence, and self-regulation by engaging in experiences that encourage warm, nurturing interactions with our educators.

Cognitive Development

Toddlers learn through hands-on experiences that focus on exploration and discovery. Cognitive Development includes early learning standards in science, technology, engineering, math, and social

studies. The Discovering Me curriculum includes activities that help children learn about cause and effect, discovering new ways to make things work, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Development and Health

Toddlers take part in experiences designed to promote fine motor and gross motor skills, as well as developmentally appropriate simple health routines and self-care practices. These experiences will assist the toddler in demonstrating improved body-awareness and in experimenting with various ways to move their body. Toddlers also learn about healthy eating and sleeping practices, and engage in active play every day.

Language and Communication

Toddlers begin to use words to express their needs and to identify familiar objects. Kiddie Academy educators hold rich conversations with toddlers to develop new vocabulary and increase comprehension. Our educators also assist your child in improving their expressive and receptive

language by using picture cards, exploration items, sign language, and beginning Spanish vocabulary.

Creative Expression and Sensory

Toddlers are invited to participate in hands-on, creative, age-appropriate experiences that focus on the process and not the final product. Our educators provide your toddler with sensory exploration activities, music and movement experiences, and dramatic play opportunities. Our educators also feature works by famous artists and musicians to spark your child’s interest and creativity.

Outdoor Learning and Nature

Through outdoor physical development activities and experiences connecting toddlers to nature, your child is exposed to a learning environment that’s an extension of the indoor classroom. Toddlers are encouraged to take part in individual, small group, and large group experiences to promote their gross motor development and connection to the world around them.
