Pre-Mediation meeting The One Rule

The only rule I have is that you be present during the mediation process. You are here because you want to involved in the process. Its Your Day Mediations put you in control of the mediation process. Your interaction is vital to the process.

Throw Your Positions Away

I guarantee you that little will be accomplished if you walk into mediation with a list of positions that you want. Its Your Day Mediations asks participants to simply talk. Talk through the issues of the day. Talk through your problems. What do you want to say?

Establish Your Expectations Define expectations how the mediation process is to proceed.

Expectations can include..... Want to be treated with respect.

Want your spouse to be honest about things. Want to find a way to co-parent.

Don't want a divorce like your parents had.

Remember: What you want to accomplish at mediation is up to you. Its Your Day

Educate Yourself Prior to the Mediation Part of the pre-mediation process is to help educate you on the basics of the parenting plan, defining terms such as joint managing conservators and going through statutory presumptions regarding rights and duties. Its Your Day Allows you the Opportunity to create a parenting agreement that will best fit the needs of your child. The better educated you are the better your ability to create a co-parenting agreement.
