f you are concerned about your child’s academic achievements in Term 2 reports or believe that he/she is not reaching their true potential, Kip McGrath centres are here to help. Early intervention is the key to getting on top of any issues that your child may be having with learning. By identifying areas needing attention, individualising programs, using quality resources and professional tutors, Kip McGrath Education Centres are able to help students move forward with their learning, with particular emphasis on English and Maths skills. It is not just children who are struggling with their school work who may need support. Kip McGrath centres also offer programmes for Extension students and those requiring help to prepare for GATE or Scholarship exams. Many gifted children are not academically challenged in the classroom and tend to underachieve. At Kip McGrath they will learn that it is ok to mak e a mistake; that’s how we learn. They will be challenged to develop thinking and problem solving skills. Secondary Maths and English are also catered for, with students focussing on the skills they need to achieve better results in tests and exams. Some centres also offer other subjects (Study Skills,
Physics, Chemistry, Economics etc). Check with your local centre for details. Kip McGrath Education centre students enjoy being taught by qualified, caring tutors. As they work on individualised programs with computer activities to revise and consolidate their learning, students learn how to learn as well as what to learn. Homework tasks are specifically designed to revise and consolidate the teaching and learning which takes place during sessions. All students can learn given the right teaching and Kip McGrath Education Centres pride themselves on assessing, devising programs and quality teaching to give students the opportunity to reach their full potential. Parents gain peace of mind and support by bringing their children to Kip McGrath Education Centres. Proven methods gain results! They are here to help. appy, relaxed children learn more! Prominent educator, Victoria Carlton has spent many years researching the best methods to help children learn. Her research indicates that the best results occur when children are relaxed, can learn at their own pace and with their particular learning style. The methods used in Victoria’s International Centre for Excellence are research based and acknowledge that each child is a unique gift to the world with their own cocktail of strengths and weaknesses. Children are taught according to Victoria’s specialised CREAM model and put on individualised learning programs to ensure they make maximum progress. Some children are taught individually and some are taken in small groups. “All children have their special learning preferences, says Victoria Carlton. “We like to get to know their child well and ensure they are on the best possible learning plan. The CREAM model is based on 5 well researched principles: Creativity as all children are natural creators and so education methods must include creative elements. Reflective learning with opportunities to revise and learn deeply get the best results.
Engagement is the key. Children do not pay attention to boring lessons. Active learning. Children need to move and be active within the learning process. Multisensory methods. The more senses stimulated, the more learning takes place. Visitors to Victoria Carlton Centres are struck by the attractive, stimulating learning environments. “Children need colour, learning games and an environment that stimulates their brains. We want to maximise progress and help children to love learning - not put their brains to sleep, says Victoria. Children in Western Australia can now enrol for her Term 4 programs in 2 centres: Bayswater ICE (International Centre for Excellence) and ACE (Agape Centre for Excellence in Cockburn). Parents can call on 9271 4200 to get information and enrol their children. Children of all ages are catered for (2-17 years) are catered for and learning programs include literacy, numeracy, study skills and emotional intelligence (EQ4KIDZ). Victoria’s programs foster creativity, divergent thinking and encourage children to
