OBJECTIVE
I wanted to keep the darkness space has and capture that in my work throughout this book. We did many projects such as bitmaps, photography, infographics, environmental graphics and cut out paper. I went through each project and thought of how I can relate eclipse to it and by using the “outline” and using the shadows of the moon, which later turned out to be the title of my book.
PROJECT — NATURAL PHENOMENA
Ever y 18 months, a beautiful phenomena called an eclipse happens in the sky — when the moon covers the sun and creates a radiant orange ring. Most plants require sun to grow but surprisingly, this moon flower thrives in the night time and closes up by morning, making this flower a rare sight to see.

COURSE – BRANDING PRINCIPLES
OBJECTIVE
I examined the original logo and asked myself how can I make this logo look expensive and give a promise they sell beneficial products? I chose a sans—serif for the logotype, and a serif for the strapline. I brought in a natural element for the icon — a bee — because bees make honey naturally. Thus tying in the natural products that are safe for our face and body.
PROJECT – BOUTIQUE REBRAND
Beauty brands have a visual standard when it comes down to choosing what goes onto our skin. If the product has unrealistic imagery, most likely it won’t attract the consumer. But if you show something natural, it attracts consumers because of its characteristics. This consumer, the bee, finds this flower, Echinacea, attractive because of the bright pink colors, its delicious nectar and produces plenty of pollen, making this flower priceless.

PROJECT – CHOCOLATE REBRAND COURSE – PACKAGE DESIGN 1
OBJECTIVE Making chocolate takes a long time, from the cleaning, to the roasting, the separating, and lastly kneading. In the end, this strenuous process is worth it when you take a bite of delicious chocolate knowing it has been carefully made. Like the process of making chocolate, flowers also require a lot of patience such as this cacao flower.

One of my favorite brands is Endangered Species because not only do they sell chocolate but all the funds proceed to facilities and charities that support the endangerment of species. I made an Africa series and an Asian series with each series showcasing the endangered species in that region.

I wasn’t very familiar with delicatessen branding but upon research, I found deli branding consists a lot of serif typefaces and heavy weight. I wanted to keep the vintage look of delicatessen. Luckily I found the perfect typeface and I kept the original icon they have in their menu.
PROJECT – DELI REBRAND
This assignment was to recreate the logo/applications for an existing deli/ market. I decided to recreate a family owned delicatessen, named Ratto’s Delicatessen located in Oakland, CA. They sell many products from deli meats/sandwiches and market goods.

I have never done pottery before but I know with clay making I have been relaxed doing it. I see a lot of videos online about pottery and things like that but I personally wanted to capture a very calming and warm book.

Pottery is surprisingly one of the hobbies that is most known to relax most people. Especially when it comes to mental health. Mental health is a really big deal today. It relaxes you just like this species, babies breath.

I wanted to work with a company that doesn’t have many packaging out there. At my restaurant I work at, we sell Barebottle products through tap and I thought it would be a great opportunity to create cans and varietals.

Beer can be made in many different ways, whether you brew it in the sun or brew it in huge containers. The main ingredient in beer is barley. These interesting grains grow from the ground and can actually be very large.

OBJECTIVE
I knew what I wanted to do and that was to get rid of the girl that everyone knows on Hawaiian Airlines. I gave it more meaning and that is why I chose the whale.
PROJECT – AIRLINE BRAND
When it comes to “Paradise on Earth” we immediately think of Hawaii. They’re beautiful state, food, culture, and even better, nature. The hibiscus flower is the most known flower in Hawaii and it can come in many different colors.
