Your generous support of this year’s “Shamrock On!” helps to sustain the services and mission of Catholic Charities as we seek to serve, empower, and advocate for those most in need in our community. We would like to recognize and extend our deep appreciation for this year’s leadership. A very special thank you to honorary chairs, Amy and Jeff Schmid, whose guidance and support have been invaluable; and to general chairs: Amy Farha-Neary and Bryan Neary, Carrie and John Jenkins and Trish and Ted Walz. With BidPal, you can bid anytime, from anywhere at the event. You can bid on items, watch items, and be instantaneously alerted when you have been out-bid. At the end of the auction you know exactly what you have won. No more running back and forth to the bidding tables. Look for volunteers with a green lanyard to assist you with BidPal. Live Auction 1. The Live Auction will begin following dinner and continue uninterrupted until all items have been sold. 2. Each auction item is numbered. The auctioneer will call out the numbered item and give a brief description. Bidders can accept a bid called by the auctioneer by raising their bid card so it can be seen by the auctioneer. 3. A runner will bring a receipt to the successful bidder, who will write down their name, bid number, and sign it, verifying they have made a successful bid. The bidder will receive a receipt. This copy of the receipt will be presented to the Cashier. 4. Catholic Charities program donations will be accepted via the BidPal system using your smartphone. 5. Take your copy of the contract stamped PAID to the Auction area to pick up your item or to the Cashier’s Table to pick up your tickets, gift certificates, etc. 6. 5. CATHOLIC CHARITIES PROGRAM: ADDICTION RECOVERY Catholic Charities has been providing drug and alcohol treatment for over 27 years. In 2012, our Addiction Recovery programs served nearly 12,000 at five locations in northeast Nebraska. Many begin treatment with little hope; however, through structured, individualized and planned treatment, their long journey of healing and recovery begins.

Troon Village is also the home of Troon Country Club, one of Arizona’s premium golf courses. At an elevation of 2400 ft., the condo has scenic views of Troon Mountain, Pinnacle Peak and the McDowell Mountains, with a panorama of city lights in the valley below. CATHOLIC CHARITIES PROGRAM: PREGNANCY COUNSELING, ADOPTION SERVICES AND POSTADOPTION SERVICES Our mission is to “nurture the lives of children from the moment of conception.” The child is always at the center of our work. The end result is a wide array of services from pregnancy counseling to adoption to mentoring to post adoption services - all focused on healthy children, healthy families and healthy new beginnings. In 2012, we helped with 48 unplanned pregnancies, assisted with 2 adoptions, and worked with over 15 couples in various stages of the adoption process. The program also provided post-adoption services to 115 individuals, many of whom experienced reunion with their birth families.

After 28 years, the eight-family units in The Shelter are in serious need of a makeover and new furniture is needed for the family units, the living quarters and the children’s learning center. The emergency shelter provides food, shelter, counseling, training, and most importantly, safety for battered women and children. In 2012, 212 women and 217 children sought shelter with stays ranging from a few days to six weeks. 3,921 crisis and information calls were also answered through our emergency hotline.
