Dear Lads and Lassies, Mindful of the presence of God in our midst, we serve, empower and advocate for individuals and families in need. This isn’t just the mission of Catholic Charities – it is the mission of everyone present tonight. Together, we make a difference in the lives of so many in need.

As Chairs of Blazin’ Shamrocks, we first thank all of you for your continuous support of Irish Fest, Catholic Charities’ largest fundraiser. Tonight’s “shenanigans” benefit vital programs impacting 75,000 individuals and families in our community. Now that’s something to celebrate!

We are festive and finely tuned tonight – ready to celebrate all the good being done.

So buy that ticket, place that bid and raise that paddle. The more good … the more fun as we enjoy an interactive concert featuring Blazin’ Pianos. Tonight’s musical selections are your selections. It’s our way of mixing it up and saying thank you.

Finally, it has been an honor to work with so many wonderful people who made this night possible, especially all the individuals and businesses whose donations helped make this night a success. A special thank you to our Honorary Chairs Molly and Toby Schropp and to Catholic Charities’ very own shamrock of development fun – Emily, Kiley and Jessica. You ladies make it fun!

We would like to recognize and extend our deep appreciation for this year’s leadership. This year we are pleased to return with BidPal, an interactive wireless automated silent auction bidding process. With BidPal, you can bid anytime, from anywhere at the event.

You can bid on items, watch items, and be instantaneously alerted when you have been out-bid.

At the end of the auction you know exactly what you have won. No more running back and forth to the bidding tables. Look for volunteers with a green lanyard to assist you with BidPal. How Do I Find Items?

Auction General Rules 1. Each bidder is assigned a bid number and is responsible for all bids made by this number.

2. All bids are final. No refunds or exchanges will be made.

3. Payment for items must be made following the sale of that item by cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. Payment for successfully bid items may be made at the Cashier’s Table or via BidPal. Payment in full is required this evening.

4. Group purchases are invited. Please coordinate this with the Cashier; provide cashier with names, amounts and form of payment.

5. Values are printed as estimates only and are not warranted by Catholic Charities for tax purposes or general value. To determine the amount of your charitable contributions, consult your tax advisor.

6. All certificates must be used as specified. Be sure to check expiration and limitations of the certificate. All gift certificates are to be picked up at the Cashier’s Table.

7. Catholic Charities makes no express or implied warranties or representation of any kind or nature with respect to the property or services. By your purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either Catholic Charities or the donor of the property or services and neither Catholic Charities nor the donor is responsible for personal injury or damage to property that may result from the property or services sold.

Live Auction 1. The Live Auction will begin following dinner and continue uninterrupted until all items have been sold.

2. Each auction item is numbered. The auctioneer will call out the numbered item and give a brief description.

Bidders can accept a bid called by the auctioneer by raising their bid card so it can be seen by the auctioneer.

3. A runner will bring a receipt to the successful bidder, who will write down their name, bid number, and sign it, verifying they have made a successful bid. The bidder will receive a receipt. This copy of the receipt will be presented to the Cashier.

4. Catholic Charities program donations will be accepted via the BidPal system using your smartphone.

5. Take your copy of the contract stamped PAID to the Auction area to pick up your item or to the Cashier’s Table to pick up your tickets, gift certificates, etc.

6. Restrictions apply to travel and airline packages. These restrictions may include advance reservations, Saturday night stay and blackout dates.

Silent Auction 1. Silent Auction will open at 5:30 p.m. and will be using the BidPal system.

2. Each item is assigned a basic minimum bid. No bid under the assigned minimum will be accepted.

3. Each new bid must exceed the previous bid by at least the minimum increase stated in order to constitute a valid bid.

4. The Silent Auction will close at 8:00 p.m. No bid will be accepted after the silent auction closes. The name of the highest bidder of each item will be determined by the final bid. The highest bidder on each item will be notified via BidPal and will pay using the information they submitted to BidPal. 5. Items may be removed only by exhibiting a receipt marked PAID. Merchandise must be removed this evening by the successful bidder.
