New: Lightweight Jackets 5 / 130

Featuring wider shoulders for extra comfort and its own, looser fit — achieved in part by simplifying the pattern to include one side seam instead of two.
than we have in the past. From luxurious woollen stretch blends and cotton stretch corduroy to soft, water-repellent fabrics and partly recycled, denimlike stretch cotton. Plus, for those with a particular vision, literally any of our suit and jacket fabrics may be selected for this garment.
Choose between two models: the ‘2.5-button lightweight jacket’ — which is similar to our traditional jacket but with a wide, shirt-style collar and no canvas or interfacing whatsoever — and the ‘safari jacket’ — which balances practicality and style by including four patch pockets to store your belongings and an internal drawstring to subtly taper the silhouette across the waist. Made to your liking with your choice of sartorial options, such as handmade buttonholes and full AMF pick stitching.
Use the FitAdvisor to easily help your customers find their ideal lightweight jacket FitProfile based on their existing jacket FitProfile, and use our numerous FitTools to further refine their personal fit. Like always, we also recommend ordering your own TryOn series to help manage customer expectations in terms of fit and feel.

Knitwear: the yarn Made from super-fine and luxurious Italian Merino wool. We’re kicking off with one dependable quality: Merino wool, available in 28 contemporary colours. Choose single yarns for a lighter, more refined quality and double yarns for a winter-ready look and feel. As for the benefits of Merino wool? They’re easy to calculate: •
Suitable for high and low temperatures = great all year round.
•
Extremely fine fibres = soft and gentle next to your skin.
•
Natural stretch = resistance to wrinkles and incredibly durable.
•
One of the most breathable fibres = odour resistant.
•
Naturally antibacterial = requires less washing.
Tip: store and dry with care, never hang knitwear as it may change shape.

A small Italian atelier Who’s making (y)our new knitwear? As we like to say here in the Netherlands: a good start is half the work. That’s why we carefully chose our new knitwear partners, including the atelier where the magic happens. Located in central Italy, in a small, family-owned and operated studio, where all 21 employees are between the ages of 30 and 65. And where years of experience making handmade garments has merged with modern, 3D technology. Here, the yarns are machine knitted into what we believe is some of the finest custom menswear on earth. By people we’ve had the pleasure to meet ourselves, under conditions we’re proud to make public and which have been confirmed by our own social due diligence checks. In the future, Fair Wear will also conduct an independent audit to help us and the atelier further understand any potential points of improvement. Questions? Just give a holler.

Seasonal Jacket Collection This season is all about comfort. Hence plenty of soft, stretchy goodness and a side of cashmere. With a total of 54 new fabrics in rich, wintry tones. For business to casual and back again. Highlights include: supple, tweed-like blends of breathable, wrinkle-resistant wool and silk, lush faux-knit stretch weaves in a mix of wool and cashmere, bouclés and alpaca blends to stand out from the crowd, soft and waterrepellent peach-skin fabrics that drape well and move fluidly, and stylish, winter stretch flannels for the man on the move. Last but not least, some new, more eco-friendly options: wool-hemp moulinés, for an innovative mix of natural fibres and artisanal tradition, and undyed (naturally coloured!) pure wool. A true win-win — i.e., less waste from the production process and all the advantages of 100% wool — this undyed pure wool beauty is breathable, absorbent, odour-repellent and wrinkle-resistant.

Below, we’ve listed how these ambitions played into the current FW21 Collection. •
Production requires far less water than virgin wool. •
•
Organic cotton The benefits of organic cotton are diverse: it’s grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or other harmful resources, and it avoids the use of genetically modified plants. From farm to fashion, third-party certifiers verify our producers’ adherence to these standards. Compared to conventional cotton, organic cotton is: •
Significantly more environmentally and human friendly.
•
Far less dependent on synthetic chemicals (which translates to less water and soil pollution).
Helps free up land from sheep grazing.
Partly avoids the use of chemicals to treat and dye the wool.

Linen Linen is a natural fibre made from the flax plant. Resilient and able to grow in poor, even polluted soil, the cultivation of flax uses considerably less resources than cotton (e.g., in terms of water, energy and chemicals). To grow 1 kg of linen, about three litres of water are needed while, in comparison, about 5,000 litres of water are needed to produce 1 kg of conventional cotton. Talk about eco-friendly! Plus, linen is: •
C onsidered to be the strongest natural fibre, and gets softer with every wash.
•
Used in its entirety — e.g., the seeds and oil in beauty and food products — further contributing to waste reduction.
•
Naturally resistant to moths and odourcausing bacteria.
Hemp Hemp (like linen) is a type of ‘bast fibre,’ which means it’s derived from plant stems. Linen-like in texture, the hemp plant needs little to no irrigation and uses less fertilizer than other crops thanks to its natural resistance to pests. Moreover,
Tencel™ Lyocell
its roots help replenish vital nutrients in the soil while also helping to minimise erosion. Other advantages include: •
Wrinkles less than linen and gets softer with every use.
•
One of the fastest growing plants on earth and uses considerably less water than cotton.
•
Incredibly durable, up to three times stronger than cotton.
•
Prevents the growth of odour-causing bacteria.
Sourced from Lenzing, an innovative leader in sustainable textiles, Tencel™ Lyocell is made from the pulp of eucalyptus trees harvested from sustainably managed forests. By using a so-called ‘closed-loop system’, meaning solvents are recovered and reused throughout the wood-pulp extraction process: •
More than 99% of the solvent is reused, hence almost no solvent is dumped into the ecosystem.
•
Less water and energy are required for production compared to, e.g., cotton.

As we said last season, transportation is just a slice of our emissions and far from our most impactful area. That said, it still provides a significant opportunity for us to reduce our ecological footprint. For the third season in a row, we’ve now shipped out all our seasonal fabrics and materials to production via a flight-free alternative: shipping by boat and train lowers these emissions by about 90-95%*. *determined with the help of Sustainalize, a consultancy based in Utrecht, NL, using a specialized lifecycle assessment methodology (LCA) to compare our (past) emissions to that of flight-free alternatives.
Socially responsible Who made my clothes? Fair Wear is a movement for change. Since the start of this year, we’ve joined Fair Wear to support garment workers in realising their rights to safe, dignified and properly paid employment. Every year from here on out, Fair Wear will not only assess and evaluate our efforts in supporting better working conditions throughout our supply chain, they’ll also make these findings publicly available. The first of such annual performance reviews should be available by next year. We’re supporting the following eight labour standards: •
Employment should be chosen freely.
•
Employees should have freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
•
No discrimination.
•
No child labour.
•
Payment of a living wage.
•
Reasonable working hours.
•
Safe and healthy working conditions.
•
A legally binding employment contract.
