Exciting upgrades at Killarney Royal Hotel

The team at Killarney Royal have announced some exciting developments that have taken place during the busy Summer season, beginning with the newly refurbished Lobby Lounge and Royal Bar and Bistro areas.

The updated bright and airy Lobby Lounge is the perfect space to enjoy the time-honoured tradition of Afternoon Tea or lounge about watching the world go by.

The Royal Bar and Bistro has also been updated, and is the perfect location to sample some of new Executive Head Chef Irek Brudnoik's delightful new dishes.

Originally hailing from Poland, Chef Irek Brudnoik has been residing in Killarney for a number of years, and with over 15 years in the industry, brings a wealth of fine-dining experience with him to Killarney Royal.

The already popular menus in The Royal Bar and Bistro and The Candle Room restaurant have undergone a revamp with the arrival of Chef Brudnoik – incorporating a new, contemporary feel while keeping the same traditional dishes and quality local ingredients that are a hallmark of the Killarney Royal Experience. Food is served daily from 12.30pm.

The shows were a resounding success on their debut at the venue last August and patrons can once again look forward to two wonderful nights of superb entertainment.

The shows are entirely “community” focussed with traditional country music at the heart and soul of the concerts along with some Irish ballads and folk songs. Such is the attraction of the shows that four artists from Kerry who are appearing on the concerts have chosen this weekend to officially launch their new albums. This is unprecedented and the first time that any concert event has had the honour of launching four albums. The new albums are from Eddie Lee, Paudie McAuliffe, Noreen Ashe and Paudie Coffey. The show on August 27, has a superb line-up with the great Art Supple from Cork among the bill toppers along with Tony Allen (of Foster and Allen), Louise Morrissey and Tony Kerr.

Also on the bill are Paudie McAuliffe, Rachel Goode, Michael and Philomena O’Brien, Annmarie O’Riordan, Ross Molloy, Kevin Prendergast, Kenny Archer, Richard Mulligan, Doris Shire Billy Condon and the Ryan Turner Band. The Monday night show also has Art Supple along with Ciarán Rosney, Aishling

Rafferty, Mick Mulhern, Eddie Lee, PJ Murrihy, Muriel O’Connor and Fran Curry, Damian Davis, Elle Marie O’Dwyer, Gavin Gribben, The Killarneys, Peter Burke, Noreen Ashe, Paudie Coffey, Effie Neill, Billy Condon and the Ryan Turner Band. An integral part of the creating the unique atmosphere of these shows are the afternoon sessions in the bar from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and the after-concert sessions as well with Mick Mulhern and friends. Artists performing on the concerts along with patrons attending the shows are all welcome to come up and sing a song. The shows, in association with Tom Kelly Promotions, attract a large and loyal clientele from all over the island of Ireland with some folks travelling from England and America for the event. Tickets are selling fast and are now available from the Gleneagle box office (064 6671555) and Ticketmaster.
