Updates on proposed Ring of Kerry closure

Kerry County Council are proposing to close the N70 road from Caitín’s pub to the Glenbeigh side of the Gleensk Viaduct from 8pm to 7am for a period of 11 weeks from October to December 15 to facilitate essential works to support the embankment at the road below

I am assured that these works are essential and that access will and events over the course of a week. It will feature outstanding performers who supported nursing home residents during Covid19, a trip down memory lane for residents via the Irish Traditional Music Archive, and a discussion on the impact of music in our nursing homes. “An alternative route is to be signposted for those who wish to travel during the closure period. Kerry County Council has also invited submission of any objections by mail or email. This will be a huge inconvenience for anybody depending on the N70 route, but it appears that there is no alternative for the sake of safety.”
