Registration dates announced for this year's Nathan's Walk

The registration dates and launch night for next month's local 'Darkness into Light Walk' have been announced.

Nathan O’Carroll from Muckross died in 2007 and his parents Denis and Marie, and his brother Ryan organise the walk every year in his memory.

The official launch of 'Nathan’s Walk, Darkness into Light 2023 - Pieta' will take place at J.M. Reidy's on Tuesday, May 2 between 7 and 9pm. The event, in association with Electric Ireland, helping to prevent suicide and self harm, will be hosted by Brendan Fuller with various guest speakers.

Finger food will be available and all are welcome to come and register ahead of this year's walk on Saturday morning, May 6, 4.15am at Killarney Racecourse.

In addition to registering online, Nathan's team will be on hand at Reidy's for live registration where each person will re- ceive a Pieta House T-shirt to wear on the night of the walk.

Live registration will be available also on Thursday, May 4 from 4 to 8pm and Friday, May 5 from 4 to 9pm and again two hours before the walk commences at Killarney Racecourse at 2am.

Those who wish to register via the Pieta website can do so by accessing 'Kerry' in the dropdown menu. T-shirts will be posted to each participant via this method of registering.

Voices for Hospice charity concert

A gala charity concert of popular music for choir and orchestra in aid of Kerry Hospice Foundation will take place next week.

Mark Sunday, April 23 at the Church of the Resurrection, Park Road, Killarney at 7pm into your diary for the 'Over The Rainbow' music event.

The concert, directed by Dr Sharon Lyons, will present an evening of popular music songs accompanied by musicians from Kerry Scotia Ensemble. Songs will include 'Dream A Little Dream', 'A Thousand Years', 'Over the Rainbow', 'Never Walk Alone' and many more.

Tickets for the concert are priced at €15 and are available at the door on the night or in advance at Eventbrite online. By attending patrons will be supporting Kerry Hospice Foundation and the special care given to those in Palliative Care Services.
