40 cars for classic club’s Easter Monday run

Nearly 40 cars participated in the Killarney Valley’s Classic and Vintage Club Easter Monday charity road run.

The club is based at the Kerry Mental Health Association's facility on Lewis Road and funds from Monday’s run will go to the local charity to help with the upkeep of the facility.

The wide variety of cars included a rare DKW, a pristine Volkswagen Beetle, several versions of the newer Golf and a collection of Toyota Celica sportscars.

The drivers followed a route to Sneem via Moll’s Gap which included a photo stop and Ladies View.

The Sneem Hotel hosted the lunch halt before a final stop off in Kilgarvan where the drivers went their separate ways.

“We are delighted with the turnout,” said Paul O’Shea, who organised the event on behalf of Killarney Valley Classic and Vintage Club.

Monday’s road run was the club’s second event in as many weeks. The previous weekend they organised a tractor run for the same charity.
