Music legends team up to release new single
| By Sean Moriarty
They're two legends in the world of Irish music and now they've come together to release a band new single.
Local music man Liam O’Connor has teamed up with Country Music star Mike Denver and will release a version of the popular old-time ballad ‘The Story I’ll Tell You is True’ next week.
This is the second time that the men have worked together.
Over 10 years ago the pair collaborated to record ‘The Day of My Return’, an account of an outlaw that left Killarney to make a fortune gambling on boxing matches in America.
Liam is turning to his own roots for their last work as ‘The Story I’ll Tell You is True’ was written by the late John Joe Reidy from the accordion player’s hometown of Newmarket, County Cork.
“I’ve always wanted to record John Joe’s song as he was a friend of mine and a fine singer and piano accordion player,” Liam said. rhymes and baby massage.
“It was such a great joy to work with Mike Denver over 10 years ago and have that track viewed over a million times online, that is why I invited Mike to work with me on ‘The Story I’ll Tell You is True’.” The recording will also feature Killarney pianist Tony O’Flaherty.
There are a host of activities for five to 10-year-olds including a children’s yoga class or a mystery hunt in search of “the creature who lives in the deep dark woods of Killarney House”.
There is also an opportunity to hold reptiles, raptors, insects, mammals, and arachnids. Families can experience ‘Ciar’s Quest’ digital treasure hunt around Ross Island where they can virtually meet and interact with some of Kerry’s iconic wildlife.
Wander Wild is a family friendly festival with a range of activities that the whole family can take part in. From guided walks and cycles through the National Park, to guided hikes up some of Kerry’s beautiful mountains, park runs, boat trips through the lakes, pony treks, and the Blue Pool experience.
