Rotary presents €27k to multiple charities
There was a happy atmosphere in the Great Southern Killarney on Wednesday when a local club presented cheques totalling €27,000 to a number of charities.
The money came from the very successful Wine & Art Evening organised by Killarney Rotary Club in association with Daly’s SuperValu and Killarney Brewing Company.
Members were delighted to present it to Coolick NS, Gaelscoil Faithleann, Holy Cross Mercy NS, St Francis School, Tiernaboul NS, Irish Pilgrimage Trust, Kerry Stars Special Olympics Club, Killarney Athletic AC and Killarney Cougars Basketball Club. The representatives from each spoke to the group gathered and said what the money will fund. Each of them thanked Killarney Rotary Club for giving them the opportunity to be involved in such a wonderful event and that this money means so much to them.
Killarney Rotary Club President Rayla Tadjimatova spoke and said the club were delighted to work with such an enthusiastic bunch of people and that there was a wonderful buzz in the room on the night of the event. She thanked the members of the club for all the hard work that went into the planning and hosting of this event to make it such a success. She thanked all the family members and friends of Rotary that helped in any way and it is important to note that all this work is voluntary. She said it was great to see the artists and patrons enjoying themselves on the night. She thanked Daly’s SuperValu and Killarney Brewing Company for their ongoing support of this event year in, year out and she gave a special thanks to the team at the Great Southern who ensured everything was OK on the night and the room was looking beautiful all decked out for the Christmas season. She also thanked Mike Neeson for the entertainment in the bar from early until late.
