BikeFest helped create the perfect weekend

In terms of the perfect weekend, the June bank holiday festivities in Killarney certainly exceeded all expectations.

There was a real celebratory atmosphere in the town and, as always, the Ireland BikeFest was central to it all

It attracted a huge attendance and so many locals joined the thousands of visitors that flocked to the BikeFest village at the Gleneagle Hotel to join in the fun and enjoy the wonderful free entertainment.

It was a boom weekend for the town with hotels, guesthouses, retail stores, restaurants, public houses and many other businesses reporting a brisk trade and it was wonderful to see.

Bridget O’Keeffe, Senior Executive, Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce, thanked and congratulated everybody involved in the BikeFest and all those who made it a weekend to remember in the town.

“The sunshine merely added to the occasion and it was great to see so many smiles on faces everywhere,” she said.

“It just goes to prove that when it comes to creating a wonderful welcome and putting on a great show, nobody does it better than Killarney.”
