FOLK The National THEATRE of Ireland

Explore Irish cultural traditions of music, song and dance at Siamsa Tíre, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland, a world-renowned source of enthralling and authentic Irish performances and immersive guided tours and cultural arts workshops, for a truly unforgettable cultural experience.

With music that lifts the spirits, songs that touch your soul, dances that embody the sheer joy of being alive, and storytelling that captures the essence of Ireland’s vibrant cultural heritage, Siamsa Tíre is a vibrant cultural hub of the south-west. Home to The National Folk Theatre of Ireland, this uniquely designed stone ring fort offers a full theatre programme for visitors to its 350-seat theatre and arts centre.

Located on Kerry’s Wild Atlantic Way, a visit to the Kingdom’s capital town of Tralee must include a visit to Siamsa Tíre for a truly memorable cultural experience where you get to engage with authentic cultural traditions and immerse in Irish storytelling through performances renowned for their energy, wildness, and sheer passion for tradition.

Founded over 50 years ago, it is unique as Ireland’s only theatre company that is dedicated to sustaining, exploring and sharing the traditional arts of music, song and dance. The National Folk Theatre Training

Academy continues to pass on traditional skills that date back as far as the 1700s and it has created a multi-generational community of Kerry performers that combine Ireland’s language, myths, legends, customs and cultural heritage with Irish music, song, and dance to create exciting and colourful folk theatre performances that creatively bring to life what it was like to live in rural and coastal Ireland many years ago. Inspired by the Celtic seasons and the ever-changing Irish weather, these performances will surprise and delight and are not to be missed!

You can also connect with their performers in guided tours behind the scenes and learn these traditions from the masters themselves in dance, music or song workshops. During the evening performances, you can enjoy VIP treatment with personal tours and meet and greets with the cast, and enjoy a traditional Irish Coffee, a choice of whiskeys or local beers and spirits in its full bar before and after a performance. There is something for everyone at Siamsa Tíre with cultural experiences not to be forgotten.
