143 stone lost in two months! It’s been an exciting summer in Marie’s Slimming World Killarney as members lost more than a staggering 143 stone! At a time when members usually feel they couldn’t possibly lose weight the Slimming World members in Hotel Killarney lost 2004lbs in the two months the schools were closed. How could this be possible - well, because Slimming World isn’t a diet! Yes, it is a lifestyle change, but it really is coming back to everyday normal foods that you already eat and love. Members decide what they want to eat from the extensive list of free foods e.g. meat, potatoes, pasta, rice, eggs, beans, fruit and veg, with a daily amount of breads and cheeses. And you can still have your treats! So if you’re eating what you love and eating the same amount as you normally have and lose weight then it’s win win! Two such members who embraced the 50-year-old food optimising plan are twins Diana Cronin and Helena Daly who joined together and amazingly got to target the same day!
Consultant Marie O’Sullivan said it was an incredible morning and so emotional. These twins, inseparable best friends, did this together and were a huge support to each other and fantastic help to everyone else in the group. In fact, they got to target on the same day after losing 4st 8.5lbs combined in only 13 weeks, Marie who runs the group, explained. “There are so many awards handed out each week it makes this more than a job, it’s much more than that,” she said. “Everyone is unique and that’s what makes all the members fabulous. They are such fun to be around in group, there’s always a laugh, and in turn they are helping and inspiring each other. I’m also looking forward to taking over The Brehon’s Tuesday morning groups and helping more members,” Marie said.
