June Woman of the Month Donna Stephens Title(s): American Cancer Society Volunteer Event Lead, Relay for Life Organization(s): Modesto Relay for Life www.Cancer.org
Donna Stephens is a Central Valley Broker and a passionate volunteer with the American Cancer Society’s Modesto Relay For Life. Stephens is also an Event Committee member for The Soiree of Central Valley (the American Cancer Society's Gala held on September 26). In addition to her community service and career, Stephens is a wife and a mother to two sons (23 and 26 years old). Her family and friends are very precious to her. Q. What do you enjoy most about your profession and why did you choose it in the first place? What was the inspiration for your company/organization/project?
“The thing that I enjoy most about my profession and volunteering with the American Cancer Society is meeting new people and getting to know the community and surrounding areas.”
My career is in Real Estate. I started selling new homes in the Central Valley in 2002, and have since earned my Broker's license. Currently, I am a Broker-Associate with Century 21 M&M and Associates in Modesto. The thing that I enjoy most about my profession and volunteering with the American Cancer Society is meeting new people and getting to know the community and surrounding areas. We started my Relay Team (“Meet the Flockers”) in Modesto six years ago. My team was established in remembrance of my Dad, Don Moody, who lost his battle in 2009 to Kidney Cancer. We started with about 15 of us and we have since 4
grown to 34 family and friends this year. We now walk to also celebrate our nine survivors. Q. Tell us about any new projects you have coming up (or recently completed). The Modesto Relay For Life is coming up May 16th & 17th at Johansen High School Football stadium. We also have our Relay Pre-event Survivor luncheon coming up on Sunday, May 3rd at the Commemorative Air Force Hanger, Modesto Airport at 1:00pm. Q. What is a typical day like for you? My day begins around 5:30am and ends about 8:00pm, and I juggle real estate with Relay for Life business. I attend community events (Chamber Business Before Hours, Relay Leadership meetings, I present at local companies that request it with our Staff Partner, Kelly Kelly, Hospital Relay kickoffs, etc.). Then early evening I join a Flocking crew and we flock homes that have been ordered by residents to raise funds for our team (our Relay team goal is $15,000 this year). Q. Tell us about your community involvement – what you are passionate about outside of work and home and why/how do you participate?
I started as a Modesto Relay Team Captain in 2010. I jumped in and added Team Development Chair on the event committee where I sat for three years before accepting the Event Lead for the 2015 Modesto Relay For Life event.
stepping out of my shell and removing the self-limiting beliefs I held over myself.
I also accepted a regional committee position this year with a new foundation, M&M Cares (scholarship opportunities beginning in 2016 for seven California regions).
I would love to learn how to knit. Five years from now seems so far away‌ I am sure I will be Relaying and volunteering and having fun enjoying life.
Q. What one thing would you like to learn this year and where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Q. What do you do for fun, relaxation, or entertainment?
Q. What is the biggest risk you ever took professionally and/or the biggest obstacle you have overcome?
I love to craft. I attend local craft fairs with my mother and sister in the fall/winter where we sell our handmade items. I love family time, hanging out, planning murder mystery parties, etc.
The biggest risk would be starting my own Real Estate company in 2005, when the new home sales builder I worked with retired and left the area. I was successful for eight years and then in 2014 I joined Century 21 M&M and Associates. The biggest obstacle I have overcome would be public speaking.
Q. What’s the best way for our readers to connect with you? My contact information is below. I am also on Facebook under Donna Stephens.
Q. From where do you draw inspiration? Who have been your role models, mentors, etc?
Donna Stephens Broker Associate CalBRE#01361758 Century 21 M&M and Associates 605 Standiford Ave, Suite D Modesto, CA 95350 209.262.8064 - Cell 209.552.7255 - eFax dstephens@c21mm.com
My Mother, Shirley Moody, is the person I draw inspiration from. I also have a couple of ladies who have been mentors over the years. Q. What do you do to keep yourself sharp? What one thing have you done in the past year that has made a significant difference in your life/your mission? I am constantly learning and meeting new people. One thing I have done that has made a difference in my life is

“I'm so thankful that I get to pursue my passion for all types of photography, and that there is never a dull moment in this line of work. One day I might photograph products for a business who needs marketing materials, the next I might have to get a smile out of an angry hubby who doesn't want family photos made! From squirming kiddos and hyper dogs who won't sit still, to breathtaking weddings, it's all fun and I photography for people, pets, businesses and more.
Tell us about how you chose your career/business and the company that you work for or own. My B.A. and M.A. degrees are in Communications and over the years the work I’ve done has included writing, marketing, public relations and fundraising tasks along with lots of photography. As an Army wife who moves constantly, it only made sense that I would eventually start my own business so that I could pick up and move a little easier each time. I established Fringe Photography Studio & Creative Services officially in 2009. While I still offer writing and creative services on a contract basis, my business is now primarily focused on various types of
What has been the biggest challenge or struggle in owning your own business? For me, the biggest challenge is moving every couple of years to a brand new state and getting myself established in a new area I know very little about. I have to prove myself to the new community and earn their trust in a very short period of time- it definitely keeps me on my toes! What has contributed to your success as a woman-owned business? Not giving up. I’ve faced lots of challenges, and I make plenty of mistakes, but I try to stay positive and learn from those as I push forward. Are there any people in your field you would like to meet and/or work with and have not yet had the opportunity? There are so many talented photographers that inspire 10
me!! One of my favorites of all time is the amazing Joe McNally. I met him once and got his autograph after he did a presentation, but I would absolutely love to take a hands-on workshop with him. How has the community supported your business? I have been so fortunate to have connected with wonderful people in this community in the short time I’ve lived here- from the ladies of the Successful Women of the Central Valley to my fellow animal rescuers, they have all encouraged me and supported me by welcoming me to Modesto with open arms and helping me learn more about this area. What are some of your favorite ways to network? I absolutely love social media, but there is nothing like hanging out with folks in person! I really enjoy connecting with people on
LinkedIn and FaceBook, and then having a chance to meet them in “real life.” If you could share one piece of advice to another woman starting a business, what would it be? It’s all about education. Take time to educate yourself- sometimes passion isn’t enough and you need to have a solid foundation to ensure success. Learn how to run a business properly before you jump in. Once you do kick things off, never stop learning and seizing opportunities to further your professional development.
I spend time with my pack of furbabies and my wonderful hubby. We love to travel and go to the movies as often as we can. I also volunteer with local animal rescues and nonprofits. Any parting advice for someone who would like to follow in your field? For photography specifically- be ready to pay your dues. Lots of new photographers end up doing free work in order to build their portfolios. Everyone starts somewhere and you have When should someone give up their dream of to be willing to being a business owner? work hard to I am not one to ever encourage giving up on a learn and dream, but I think when something stops making grow. How Does Being Likable Stop You? Submitted by: Julie Foucht, Kickass Biz Coaching
In a recent article in The New York Times, author Tara Mohr, says, “For centuries, women couldn’t protect their own safety through physical, legal or financial means. We couldn’t rely on the law if our safety was threatened. We couldn’t use our own money to escape or safeguard ourselves and our children, because we could not own property. Being likable, or at least acceptable to stronger, more powerful others was one of our primary available survival strategies.” * http://www.ny times.com/2014/09/28/opinion/sunday /learning-to-love-criticism.html?_r=1 I first heard the quote listening to a podcast as I was whizzing up the 101 outside of San Jose. I felt as if the universe had just cracked open and shown me the answer to one of life’s most mysterious questions. I couldn’t wait to pull over and call someone, anyone, to share.
In my years of coaching I’ve heard it over and over. “What are you most afraid of?” I ask a client who is frozen in a place of apprehension.
“No one will like me,” she’ll say.
Over and over and over. The most amazing, brilliant, talented, lovely women say, “I’m afraid of not being liked.”
They know, we know, in this day and age that not everyone will like us. That as express our unique viewpoint, deliver our authentic gifts and be our true selves, some people will be challenged. They will disagree. They will argue we are wrong, we are too visible, we are full of ourselves. They might.. gasp… not like us. And we agree, that we might not like them.
And that might suck, but really, who cares. If they disagree then they are not our target market. They are not the clients we want to attract, the partners we want to hang out with. They are not people we want to hang out with.
All in a very logical way.
But deep down, in the depths of our ancient collective memory, lies the threat. And so we keep ourselves small, our talents hidden, our lights shielded.
The world loses. We lose.
We must acknowledge that, as women, this is our past not our future. That by continuing to live this ancient wisdom we deny the world what it most needs to heal today. That we, as women, must pass through the fear and embrace the fact that yes, not everyone will like us. That being our authentic, powerful selves will create both raving fans and frothing haters. 16

Which is ok, because the world has changed. And now, it’s up to us to make it better.
1. Create a list of all the things that give you that feeling now. 2.
Let go of striving for what you want. Focus on the things on your list, concentrating your attention on filling your body with that
feeling. 3. Start with 1 minute of just being in the feeling, then extend it as you get better at holding onto the emotion. 4.
Choose to focus on the Be part of the equation. Be-ing in the emotion will fuel your actions, what you have to Do, in order to
achieve your goal, the Have.
Please share what emotion you are choosing to BE, and how that affects your Have in the group forum (sharing turns the dial up on your commitment to BE).

A couple had been married for 25 years and had also just celebrated their sixtieth birthdays. During their anniversary party, a fairy appeared and said that because they had been such a loving couple all those years, she would give them one wish each. The wife wanted to travel around the world. The fairy waved her wand and boom! She had the tickets in her hand. Next, it was the husband's turn. He paused for a moment, and then said shyly, "Well, I'd like to have a woman 30 years younger than me." The fairy picked up her wand and boom! He was 90.

Aries: As Uranus moves into T Squared position with the Sun, Mars, and Pluto this month, you may find difficulties around those relationships most important to your career. It’s important to remember that too much thinking about the situation can leave you more frustrated than you were when the situation first began. Uranus’ Trines with Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury throughout the month provide help and support from others during your time of need, providing new relationships to help you counteract the difficulties in other relationships. Keep moving on rather than getting stuck in your own frustration. This is the best road to the awesome success you’re after, and let the disappointing relationships work themselves out. You can’t allow the abundance to flow in your direction while you’re worry about the particulars; where it’s coming from, how you’re going to get it, etc. These types of negative thought patterns shut that door as tight as can be, leaving you feeling as if you’re undeserving of all of this abundance the Universe is promising. This month, dare to step out of that worry box! Abundance comes in so many awesome forms! Be open to them all and see just how deserving you really are! The Moon comes into your sign on the 9th through the 11th, providing proof of what manifestation can truly do! But it’s not what you think! Don’t allow your feelings to make decisions for you! Instead, take the time to see what might have been missed in the first place so you can get the awesome results you want either way! Lucky Days: 5 th – 7 th
June 21 - July 22
Cancer: Happy Birthday to all the Cancers born this month! With the Sun and Mars moving into T Squared position with Pluto and Uranus, things may seem difficult as everything in your life seems to be emotionally getting in the way of success in your career. Mercury and the Moon join this aspect as the Moon moves into your sign the 13th through the 15th, and can have you feeling like no matter how hard you try to explain what you’re going through, no one understands. But on a positive note, the Sun, Mars, and Mercury Trine with Neptune, helping you to see past the surface of how people are acting to understand where they’re coming from on an internal level, especially when it’s those that you love that seem to be the problem. Understanding their own internal struggle helps you understand where they’re coming from, and this opens the door to helping you see where you can help them be their awesome selves again, and get back to what you need to do for you. Lucky Days: 7 th – 9 th

Leo: Happy Birthday Leo!!!!!!!!!!!!! And happy birthday to all the Leos born this month! As Jupiter’s Squared position with Saturn continues to have you feeling the effects of old challenges around those that love you, Jupiter remains in Trine position with Uranus all month long, helping you overcome past obstacles by presenting you with present success in other relationships in your life. This is a big help to understanding that it’s not all “your” fault, especially when you feel as if you’re being made to feel like it is. As the Moon enters your sign the 16th through the 18th, it she seems to bring big changes with her, for following a week later the Sun and Mercury come in to help you shine in your career, and make the awesome changes you want to make! Venus goes retrograde at the end of the month, just as she’s heading out of your sign, preparing you for some lessons in selflove in the very near future, and setting you up for success!
July 23 - August 22
Lucky Days: 9 th – 11 th
Virgo: The Dark Moon is ready with lessons from the past this month, giving you a chance to let old pains go for good! When situations pop up in the present that seem to mimic hurts from the past it is a clear sign that this past pain is holding you back from personal success in some way. Often we find ourselves using that old pain as the excuse to not go further, but the Dark Moon has other plans for you. The Moon coming into your sign the 18th through the 20th creates an all too familiar situation on an emotional level, making it feel as if those you’ve supported all this time are not there to support you when you need it the most. But her Trine with Uranus helps you understand how this situation can be dealt with in a different way, allowing you space to grow in awesome ways and undo some of those things from the past that seem to plague the present. You deserve all the happiness you want out of life, and it’s completely up to you to grab it!
August 23 - September 22
Lucky Days: 11 th – 13 th
Libra: It is truly time to celebrate you this month! It happens so often, too often in my opinion, where the wonderful things you do for all seem to go unnoticed and unappreciated. This month it’s time for the most important person in your life to acknowledge what you are capable of doing, and what you have done. And who is this most important person? Why you of course! Understanding that you need to give yourself that pat on the back is the lesson at this time, especially when it seems that no one else cares to notice. The Moon comes into your sign the 20th through the 22nd, and she brings one of those old situations to light, as she moves into Cardinal Grand Cross position with Mars, Uranus, and Pluto, creating one of those situations where you’re not only not getting the credit you deserve, but seeming to take the blame for everything going wrong too! If it’s not your responsibility, avoid taking it on at all costs, and if it is, don’t be so hard on yourself. You have to be able to see everything awesome about you before anyone else can truly appreciate it. Lucky Days: 13 th – 15 th
September 23 - October 22
Scorpio: Saturn’s Square with Jupiter and Venus this month can make difficulties when it seems as if you’re dealing with the same old irritations with some who claim to love you. This aspect makes you feel as if things will never change, and you’re forced to either accept the way things are or simply walk away from it. But the Moon coming into your sign the 23rd through the 25th has better ideas, as she comes into Grand Sextile position with Neptune and Pluto in an effort to show you just how much using your intuition and changing the way you see the situation can be helpful. When you understand where someone is coming from on an internal level, it makes it easier for you to step out of the “emotional box” within the situation, which helps you take what they’re doing not so personally. Saturn’s Trines with Mars, the Sun, and Mercury shift your focus to your own awesomeness when it comes to your goals and your career, and more importantly, making your goals your career, and with Mars energy fueling your forward, you don’t have time to waste on being frustrated anyway! Lucky Days: 15 th – 17 th

Sagittarius: Ideas seem to be coming from a thousand different directions this month, and you’ll want to make sure you find some time to organize those ideas so you don’t forget any of them! After a few months of challenge, this month is all about getting your awesome back, and setting the stage for new beginnings! The Moon comes into your sign the 26th through the 28th, moving into Trine positions with Uranus, the Sun, and Mercury, ready to prove just how successful these ideas are really going to be! As she moves into Squared position with Neptune, it may seem like those you’ve always supported might not be as supportive as you’d like them to be, but this is proof that you need to do this on your own, in order to see just how powerful you really are! The only person standing in your way is you, so get out of the way! Lucky Days: 17 th – 19 th November 22 - December 21
December 22 - January 19
January 20 - February 18
Capricorn: Pluto’s T Square with Uranus, the Sun, Mercury, and finally Mars this month will definitely be a challenge for you when it seems you just can’t find the time to make your dreams come true! Whether its unexpected wrenches in your plans or not feeling cooperation from others involved it definitely can feel like everything is against your success, and that is frustrating indeed! The Moon coming into your sign on the 28th through the 30th intensifies this frustration, but also has you looking to your own thoughts to see what kind of control they have over your feelings on the subject. Too much time thinking about the situation is a waste of time, and keeps you dwelling on the unpleasant. Pluto’s aspect with Neptune helps you to see more clearly through intuition, lending a helping hand in the form of those you love, and proving to you that you do have an awesome support system, even if it’s not those who you think she be in it. Let your thoughts dwell on what you want, and help omit what you don’t want from happening at all! Lucky Days: 19 th – 21 st
Aquarius: This month centers around those you love; spending time, caring for, being there for, and all the many beautiful and sometimes painful aspects of spending time with the most important people in your life. The Moon enters your sign twice. First, on the 3rd through the 5th she moves into Opposition with Jupiter and Venus, and it seems as if the love you dare to give isn’t necessarily reciprocated, and therefore seems to grow stagnant. But her Trine with Mercury helps you to communicate about what you want in order to help mend the problem. As she comes into your sign again for the last two days of the month, it seems that situations at home seem to be getting in the way of your ability to shine at work, and in many cases being able to communicate the problem seems to fall on deaf ears. This is a clear sign of what always happens when you set aside your feelings to take care of business; the feelings always seem to come up at the most inopportune times! Deal with your feelings before it gets to that point, and shine at being you rather than feeling like you’re feelings are exploding everywhere for everyone to see. Lucky Days: 21 st – 23 rd
Pisces: Neptune lines up with Pluto, Mars, and the Sun in beautiful ways this month! It’s about time to feel the flow of things moving again, and you’ll find ample time in your schedule to get things done when it comes to your career and your home! The Moon coming into your sign on the 5th through the 7th adds magic to these aspects, creating a balance and harmony in your life you’ve been wanting for months now. Be open to where your intuition leads you at this time, because there are more awesome paths in front of you that lead to wonderful new adventures! This month is definitely your time to shine, so don’t let anything dull that shine! Lucky Days: 23 rd – 25 th February 19 - March 20

Hello Beautiful, Successful Ladies of the Central Valley (smile emoticon) I'm a Professional Financial Coach/Director with a financial institute and I'd like to share with you how to better hold on to your finances that you work so hard for. With the uncertainty of today's economy I'd like educate you on the various ways of how to invest your income without the worry's of market crashes, taxes and penalties. In 1913 the IRS introduced a tax code called the 7702a. That same year, interestingly enough, Income Taxes were also introduced. The 401K was established for the wealthy so they could put some money aside for retirement, but found it to be a failed program. The reason for the 7702a was to protect individuals from outside influences an an indexed fund; meaning you keep more of your money, make better gains and your income is protected. My company was built 168 years ago in 1847. At that time we were the largest bank in the U.S. We funded the building of the Golden Gate Bridge and Stanford Medical Center, right here in California, just to name a few achievements. We sit beautifully in downtown San Francisco and we're pretty much the tallest building in the city. You can't miss our pointy pinnacle at the top. We strive to do our very best to educate families, small businesses and corporations in how to wisely invest their money. We work with over 300 different agencies, each offering 15 various products so that we can offer the best services in the industry. Taycie Shea Taylor TransAmerica

Live, Laugh & Love With Kimberly Reyes HELPING CLIENTS FIND PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL JOY
Feeling Lost in the World of Constant Information I am sitting here thinking of all of the coaching and self-help jargon online and in person: Be grateful, Be Happy, Manifest Your Destiny, Shift Your Paradigm, and Focus on the positive….. Get High Paying Clients…. I confess… I am guilty of using these terms too and I believe in them to my core. Seeing Tony Robbins at the age of 18 changed my life. I have been on a journey to “shift my paradigms” and design the life that fulfills my true potential for over 30 years. I have been working with others to help them do the same for over 20 years. I am a “Master Manifestor”.
What I know for Sure! We are each at a different point in our journey. What I need is not what you need. We all NEED someone that SEES Us and offers specific solutions designed for Us. Terms like “shifting paradigms” may not resonate with you. Cookie Cutter Programs… & People
telling us online to manifest our destiny… won’t necessarily work for everyone at this point in their lives; even when we spend lots of money trying to make it work. More often than not – it creates chaos and we don’t move forward. We try to find something else to buy to make it better…. Which creates more chaos.
It is not You! There is nothing wrong with you if you are overwhelmed or are not getting what you should out of programs that you have purchased… But haven’t put into practice. Maybe you haven’t purchased any programs, but have been swamped with taking free online programs and have not pursued them further? What if you have a business and have not engaged in any additional training at all? It’s not you. You just didn’t start at point A. You were offered x,y and z. 26
It’s about layering your learning. You can’t learn and implement everything in 18 months… It’s years of information gently layered over time. Now doesn't that make you feel better? As entrepernuers, mothers, wives, women… we are so hard on ourselves. We think that we can do it all… NOW! I am here to tell you that there are steps to take to make sure that you do things in the right order so that you don’t just create chaos that keeps you paralyzed right where you are…
Are You Chasing the Shiny Penny! I sit with client after client that is completely paralized personally and professionally because they keep chasing the “Shiny Penny.” Who do you know that purchases program after program online, at every networking meeting, at every speaking event? They are completely bombarding themselves with information without
completely absorbing one concept before moving to the next? Is that You? Diverging information in multiple programs can cause more harm than good.
·
·
Stop buying programs that you aren’t ready to implement. You don’t need to know how to build a webinar in a day if you don’t have a website….
·
Stop Bouncing around & chasing every Shiny Penney.
Mindset is the Key! It’s not too late to fix this! You can’t build a house without plans… Same holds true for your business! You need a plan and I am not just talking about a business plan. I am talking about a Grand Plan: Who are You, What brings you JOY, What’s holding you back, What lights you up, Are you pursuing your passion, How much money do you want to make, What will that look/ fee like, How can you achieve that, What do you need to do to step into your full potential, Lay out the specific steps to reach your destination BOTH Personally & Professionally, What steps and support do you need to move forward? Once you have a Grand Plan laid out for you…. There is a sudden sense of Clarity. Less Information Overload and MORE of a unique guided program created just for you and your success. This gets your head in the game!
DO Gift Yourself! I would love to chat about working with you… But, it doesn’t have to be me. There are some amazing coaches out there and they are doing Great work. I BELIEVE in coaches. I have a coach. I coach coaches. My coaches have coaches…. You get the idea. · Find someone to coach or mentor you that you feel safe with.

Today's Risk is Tomorrow's Cakewalk By Caterina Rando
Today's risk is tomorrow's cakewalk. A risk is something you would do in an instant if you knew it was the right thing to do and you knew it would work the way you wanted. It is not knowing the outcome that makes it a risk. Here is an important secret. Risktaking increases your self-trust. Self-trust is what personal power is all about. Seven Secrets for accelerating your risktaking 1. Know you have the power. "We are capable of far more than we give ourselves credit for," says Susan Jeffers in her book “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.” The more you risk the more you see yourself capable of. 2. Build on past successes. There have been times in the past when risks you took worked well for you. Think about those times to give you confidence for your present situation. 3. Project positive outcomes. It is human nature to worry and wonder about what could go wrong. By becoming more conscious of when you are projecting negative outcomes, you can stop this natural mental tendency and start to turn your thoughts around. 4. Create support in your life. Get a friend who also wants to expand her comfort zone to partner with you. You can coach and cheer each other on as you both become better risk-takers. 5. Ask for what you want every time. Commit yourself everyday to asking for what you want. With whatever it is you want, an appointment, a contract or simply a cup of coffee, if you do not ask the question, the answer is already, “no”. 6. Make a risk list. Write down all of the clients, past clients or potential clients you are apprehensive about talking to. Then start to contact one or more a day and ask for what you want, more business, some referrals or perhaps some honest feedback.
31
7. Keep track of your risks. Write them down for two important reasons. You will begin to realize that the more risks you take the more success you are having and pretty soon your earlier risks will seem silly because now you do those things with ease. When you take a risk and go for what you want sometimes you do not get what you want, sometimes you get something even better. TAKE A RISK A DAY CHALLENGE Risktaking: there is no better way to accelerate your direct selling business. Join us here at the success center by taking the TAKE A RISK A DAY Challenge. • Everyday do one thing that makes you uncomfortable. Everyday find one risk to take. You have to take risks for at least 21 days. If you skip a day start again the next day. • Start a risk list of ideas for risks you could take during the month. Put on there things you have been putting off like taking a class or doing a presentation in your home or approaching people you do not know and initiating a conversation. • Keep track of your risks, every day write down the risk you took. • Keep track of the new, wonderful, inspiring and absolutely amazing results you will create because you have put yourself through the 21 day TAKE A RISK A DAY CHALLENGE. You will be convinced to keep up this daily success practice going day after day. The Whole Woman Concept WHAT IS IT? The Whole Woman Concept means every aspect of our lives are important and are inherently a part of who we are; in essence they are a part of our core self. While we prioritize our efforts, all areas that we invest ourselves in are clearly areas of importance and no one area can define our success as a whole person. If you are not in business does that mean you are not a successful person? If you are not a mom does that make you a failure in family? No! That is just crazy talk! We are not one-dimensional people. Success is not one-dimensional! We need to celebrate our successes, applaud our efforts, empower one another to achieve our goals… all goals. We also need to support each other when we are faced with challenges and coach each other with advice and care in every aspect of our lives. We are all in this together! The Whole Woman concept is more about us as multi-dimensional people intrinsically and has less to do with us externally; the concept is about making us who we are, not what we do. Nurture and encompass the whole woman you are! You are so much more than just your life status, your bank account balance, your family, your past, your future, your level of education, the last book you read, etc. We are not measured solely by any one area of our lives. Let’s embrace ourselves as whole women! Let’s refuse to make connections based on external offerings, but instead really look at the whole woman when getting to know your sisters! By learning more about each other and building core connections we embrace ourselves and shine. Every aspect of our multidimensional lives will improve ten-fold with the support and empowerment of each other. Don’t you believe that to be true? Do you believe in every man (or woman) for themselves, or do you believe in the betterment of women as a whole? The Whole Woman Concept takes that thinking to the next level of a life journey. Together.

June Assignments from the Facebook Group ASSIGNMENT #39: Grapple, wrestle, tackle... these are all very strong, visual words of "taking something down..." what about correct or change? Twyla always says, "If there is something you want to change, you just first need to change your mind." Isn't that the truth? By changing our thoughts we can change so much in our lives! Do you believe that? Do you believe in the power of positive thought? I do! The trick of course is determining what thoughts we need to change in order to make change in our life... What in your life are you hoping that you can either have more of, find time for, want, feel you need, want to change, want less of...? If it were to come true... what would your life look like? What would a day in the life of with this positive change (whatever it is) look like? How would you move through your day with this change, how would you react to yourself and others with this change? Would it change other areas of your life? Would you wake up differently, go to bed differently? Can you see yourself moving through the day with this new change? What peace has just this vision had for you? What calm or excitement has this brought? To achieve the vision, what calm or excitement do you need to apply and where to gain the vision in reality? What thoughts do you need to say to yourself EVERY DAY? What would you say to yourself every day if the change had already happened? BINGO! Those are the things you need to say to you RIGHT NOW. Write them down. Tape them next to your computer, or mirror in the bathroom, on the fridge, wherever you will see them and a few times a day... you need to say these things to yourself a few times a day until you do it naturally on your own. Change your mind. - Kimberly Vaughan, Successful Women of America Founder ASSIGNMENT #43: Wew! I got faced with a doosie this weekend, let me tell you! I had to spend a lot of time with myself mourning the loss of confidence and getting some love from friends and the boys in my life. I was experiencing and allowing doubt and the "negative chatter" of others to creep into my psyche. How dare they and how dare I allow that to brutalize my own good will! I am reminded of Marianne Williamson who I try to remember to revisit from time to time, because her quote is sooooo incredibly powerful. I am attaching my favorite. In the meantime, I have assigned the following for myself and I invite you to join me. ASSIGNMENT #43: Write down WHY you think you are not good enough to perform XYZ.. What are the horrible things that you tell yourself that cause you to doubt yourself, OR what are the horrible things that others have said that make you feel as though you cannot? Is there a bully in your life that through jealousy and tyranny attempts to sabotage your good efforts by saying negative things? These people (bullies) are rapists of the soul and should not have weight in your thought processes or thought input so we are going to shut them up. Write those things that bullies say down ladies. These are important things to acknowledge, because as quickly as we acknowledge these criticisms we are going to give three examples or reasons as to why that is not true. Many of these will be so obviously easy to discharge that as you see them written in word form you will almost feel embarrassed that they are on your list or given a second thought but nonetheless... give your examples so as to continue applauding yourself and your deeds. Others may need more examples, because you may have drilled these untruths in your head due to lack of confidence. Let the anti-bashing and healing begin. Look at this list, give your three reasons/examples why that is not true. Now visualize yourself doing these examples. THIS IS THE TRUTH! Your actions are the truth. Bullies lack vision and usually action other than terrorizing others. Vision and action are truths. Terrorism are untruths. Visualize your truth, own your truth and release the bullying of negative chatter. Your inner thoughts are owned by you. You are the landlord of what resides there and if you get a bad tenant of thought, you tell the tenant exactly why they don't belong in your house of truths. The thoughts of criticism and untruth are released and are not invited to the party. Wash it away. You are free to be you. you are free to be the original and it is your greatest fear that you shine and show your power, not that you are inadequate. SHINE LADIES!!!! It is all in you and it is you that shines through.. your original thoughts and actions that shine and flourish in the world. Don't ever let your light be dim for the sake of others. Your light is beautiful. Your light is inspiring and gives permission to others to let their light shine also! I love you all. Together we have the brightest light that can be seen. - Kimberly Vaughan, Successful Women of America Founder 35
