REASON TO CELEBRATE
I am very happy to share with the world that I recently got engaged with the love of my life of my life at the Modesto 4th of July parade to Sammy D. He was dressed up as Uncle Sam and I was dressed as Lady LiberT for the All American Festival afterwards. Unbeknownst to me, he stopped the parade and Uncle Sam proposed to Statue of LiberT! It was the most romantic proposal ever! It made my heart sing, as well as the whole community's heart. You can see "Uncle Sam Proposes to State of Liberty" YouTube video, Good Day Sacramento interview, and the Modesto Bee newspaper article online, and I will be happy to put a smile on your face! :)

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other, except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about. For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day, the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000. He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she said, "my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll." The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. "Honey," he said, "that explains the dolls, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?" "Oh," she said. "That's the money I made from selling the dolls." 13
What I Learned About Networking by Watching the Bachelor? by: Julie Foucht, Kickass Biz Coaching
Sheepish admission: I’ve been a loyal fan of The Bachelor since season 2. I’ve followed it through football players, wine makers, and princes. I’ve been amazed that the show still purports to be about ‘true love’ when more and more it’s about creating drama to hook the viewers. And, I’m hooked. But my brain never stops being curious, even when watching the ‘boob tube’. Hehe.
2. Gimmicks don’t make a connection; they just make you look stupid. In the beginning of every season the Bachelor or Bachelorette is introduced to 25 potential mates chosen just for them (read: just for the drama). As contestants exit a limo one by one it’s not uncommon to see stupid stunts –guys without shirts, women in wedding dresses, stupid jokes, come-ons and magic tricks abound. I feel so bad for those people and they never make it to the end. Networking only works when you make a real connection. People want to know who you are first, before they will even think about buying from you. Rather that work out a snazzy line to open your conversations try just being genuine. Hold out your hand and introduce yourself. Take off your perfect mask and just be you.
Here are the lessons I’ve learned for the Bachelor. 1. Never show up drunk. I know this should be obvious. But it happens every season on The Bachelor. Somebody is always so drunk that they make a complete fool out of themselves and are asked to leave the first night. Men get naked and jump in the pool drunk, women drop their panties in the star’s pocket, and people fall asleep in back bedrooms and miss the choosing ceremony. It’s at that point that I’m yelling at the TV – “Stop it!!”
3. Don’t announce that your eggs are ripe upon arrival. One woman announced upon arrival that her eggs were ripe and she was ready for the Bachelor to marry and impregnate her immediately. She was really indignant that this announcement to a man she had known for 10 minutes didn’t result in him immediately sending the other women away and carrying her off to his bedroom.
Now I don’t often see people consuming a lot of alcohol at networking events. But I do see people so drunk with their own excitement that they fail to notice that they are turning people off. They jabber on about their business or their event until people’s eyes glaze over. They throw flyers and business cards into people’s pockets without permission. They are so drunk on their own awesomeness that they forget about making a real connection. Stop it! Be more about the other person then you are about you. Ask about their business, take their cards and flyers, and compliment their tagline. You will be considered much more interesting and worth knowing when you are curious about them!
Showing up at a networking event desperate to sell your services or products (hopefully NOT your eggs – but who knows) is the kiss of death. People sense it. They will do almost anything to avoid it. Take a few minutes before an event to center yourself. Acknowledge your own value. Then walk into the room confident that you will meet the right people. That you don’t have to push anything on them. That you can take the time needed to build lasting, valuable relationships.
14
4. Get to know the other person. On the show contestants are so worried about being picked that they never stop to get to know the star. They babble on and on about their life and how they would fit together so well, but they never say “tell me about you.” They never find out if they really want the guy or girl in their life- they act like they just don’t want to be eliminated.
looking for screen time. I am all about making a real connection.” Which is ok, because the world has changed. And now, it’s up to us to make it better. 1. Create a list of all the things that give you that feeling now. 2. Let go of striving for what you want. Focus on the things on your list, concentrating your attention on filling your body with that feeling. 3. Start with 1 minute of just being in the feeling, then extend it as you get better at holding onto the emotion. 4. Choose to focus on the Be part of the equation. Being in the emotion will fuel your actions, what you have to Do, in order to achieve your goal, the Have. Please share what emotion you are choosing to BE, and how that affects your Have in the group forum (sharing turns the dial up on your commitment to BE). Have a Kickass Day! You have to be brutally honest with yourself. Are you so worried about your success that you are willing to take anyone who comes along? Because the truth is that won’t make you happy, and it won’t make your business successful. You have clients that are just waiting for you. It’s not everyone in the world, not even everyone you meet. But the perfect ones that will bring you joy and profits are out there. So take the time to get to know people before you invite them to work with you. It will save you a lot of time and heartbreak in the long run. Next time you are preparing for a networking event, remind yourself: “I am not on a reality TV show, I am not

Aries: Uranus spends some time in Trine positions with Jupiter, Venus, the Sun and Mars this month, helping you to shine in your career and put some serious energy into your goals and dreams this month. The Moon comes into your sign twice this month, first on the 3rd through the fifth when she helps you understand why faith in yourself is more important to your awesome success than anything else. She brings the energy of her Grand Water Trine into your sign as she comes in, showing you how some old ideas are ripe to become new adventures. She ends the month in your sign in favor of helping you achieve your goals, but at the same time aspects Pluto in such a way as to have you questioning whether you should have reviewed past “failures”. Mistakes are nothing more than the identification of what does not work, so you can turn it into something that does! Make sure you’re not making the same mistakes as before, and turn those past “failures” into current successes! Lucky Days: 1 st, 26 th – 28 th Taurus: Relationships become the dominant force in your life this month, and with Venus’ retrograde fueling that fire, you may find yourself in the uncomfortable position of questioning some of those relationships. When you find yourself feeling as if things aren’t what you thought they were, it sends a chill down your spine that can turn into self-doubt in huge doses. But the truth is it’s not all that it seems. People are people, and things happen. This month it’s important to look inward to find the root of your unhappiness, as the Universe provides the opportunities for doing this within the relationships you are currently in. It’s time for you to understand what true, unconditional love is all about, by handing it to yourself on a silver platter. The Moon coming into your sign on the 5th through the 7th provides the basis for these changes, and her Grand Sextile with Neptune and Pluto helps you to understand how much your own perceptions block the changes you want to see. This is the point where all expectation of others fails you, and it’s time to start giving yourself what you lack from others. Only by doing this can you stand on your own awesome two feet and be the powerhouse you know you can be! Lucky Days: 2 nd – 4 th, 28 th – 30 th Gemini: This month finances become the main focus, providing you with opportunities to advance when it comes to growing your bank accounts. But it also has an “under-focus”, a focus that reflects in many cases on what is inside of you. The Universe provides challenges in order to help you understand internally what is holding you back from grabbing on to the awesomeness that awaits you, but you have to be willing to face that mirror! The Moon comes into your sign the 7th through the 9th presents a big challenge, as her T Squared position with Jupiter, Mercury, and Neptune is almost a Grand Cross with her Opposition with Saturn present. This difficulty will have you feeling pulled in multiple different directions, and feeling as if you’re not strong enough for the challenge. Part of this is learning to use the word no those things that stand in the way of your goals, but the bigger part is all in your own self-worth. You know you’re capable of doing this, don’t let life’s challenges become the excuses for not succeeding! Lucky Days: 31 st, 4 th – 6 th Cancer: Mars spends the last of his time in your sign in Trine with Saturn, showing you why it’s important to put some energy into your goals and dreams. Trying to avoid them only presents more obstacles and frustration, making it more difficult for you to keep moving forward. The Moon coming into your sign on the 10th through the 12th this month gives you one last big reason to keep moving forward, as her aspects with Neptune, Jupiter, and Mercury show success in all aspects of your life, and proving that if you want something bad enough, you can get it if your willing to put the work into it. Her Opposition with Pluto helps you to understand why you can’t seem to make these changes, and points to the fact that most of the time negative thought patterns rule that negative outcome that seems to follow you. Stop worrying about it and start taking action to get what you want! You deserve all of the awesome things you want out of life! Lucky Days: 7 th – 9 th 18

Leo: Happy Birthday to all of the Leos born this month! Mars moves into your sign about midmonth, and Jupiter officially leaves around the same time, making change a big part of this month! It’s time to focus on your career goals, and Mars comes in to provide a fantastic burst of energy behind the need to make this change. If you ride with the changes, the results are awesome, but worrying through the changes creates frustration! Avoid the frustration this month! It’s time to face your fears head on and take that leap of faith into something so extraordinary, it hardly seems possible. The Moon coming into your sign the 12th through the 14th adds to the excitement of change, by making it even scarier than it already was! But it’s very much like that first roller coaster ride, the one where you were terrified, and every step in that line brought you closer to this terror. But when you finally got on that ride, and dared to put your hands up and trust that you wouldn’t fall, it was absolutely amazing!!!! Now seriously, are you willing to give up that possible amazement because of fear? I didn’t think so! Lucky Days: 9 th – 11 th Virgo: Happy Birthday Virgo!!!!! And Happy Birthday to all the Virgos born this month!!! Jupiter and Mercury are what it’s all about for you guys, as they provide assistance in expanding your career goals, while providing just the right words to say in order to move forward. But at the same time, as both planets move right into Opposition with Neptune, it may seem that all of this focus toward awesomeness is taking you away from your responsibilities at home. Mercury’s Trine with Pluto reminds you that overthinking those things that bother you only adds fuel in manifesting what you don’t want. The Moon coming into your sign the 14th through the 16th intensifies both of the aspects, in order for you to truly understand what you are capable of, and not growth is easy. In fact, it’s downright painful. Those that are willing to brave the pain re those that get the most out of life! Lucky Days: 11 th – 13 th
Libra: This month provides reflection time on what you really want out of life. Rebuilding and restructuring old plans might be in order, but also in order is the rebuilding or restructuring of yourself. With your ruling planet Venus in Retrograde this month, you may find challenges popping up here and there that seem to create a sting in the pit of your stomach, challenges that mimic old emotional roots that you’ve ignored over the years. This month, it’s time to face the mirror and understand why you are holding on to pain from things you can’t change. The Moon coming into your sign the 17th through the 19th adds fuel to this fire, as it seems you have to do something for someone in order for them to love you. This perception in your mind is rooted in an emotional circumstance from the past. By letting go of that anger and hurt, you can eliminate that mindset, and this leaves your road clear for the awesome things you want to do in life! Lucky Days: 13 th – 15 th
Scorpio: Saturn goes Direct this month, showing you the importance of your responsibilities to yourself before everyone else. This doesn’t mean that you have a huge ego, but rather shows you the importance of making sure you get what you need first in order to provide service to the other. This creates an even exchange for you, and his Squared position with the Sun and Jupiter shows you that the challenge is presented in your career. The person that is sure of himself gets the job, while the individual that hopes the other person just accepts them isn’t as successful. You want to get all of the awesome things you want out of what you’re doing, and in order to do that, you must put yourself as a priority! The Moon coming into your sign the 20th through the 22nd provides a beautiful balance and proof that you can have what you deserve, while maintaining the awesome balance you need for all aspects of your life run smoothly. It’s your time to shine, so don’t let anyone dull it! Lucky Days: 15 th – 17 th

Sagittarius: This month, memories of past experiences spark new ideas, while helping you grow past major challenges. Sometimes understanding what went wrong before is essential to to our current growth process, helping you understand your current challenges even more than you initially did. The Moon coming into your sign on the 22nd through the 24th presents a Grand Fire Trine with Venus and Uranus, showing you the time you have to make your dreams come true, and giving you the excuse to get it done. The Moon’s Square with Neptune can be elusive, having you feeling like you’re ignoring other responsibilities, but if you are aware of that issue, you won’t do it, and it’s that simple. You’re only hurting yourself if you hold back, now is the time to unleash that awesome, because you know it’s there! Lucky Days: 17th – 19th November 22 - December 21
Capricorn: Pluto’s Squared position with Uranus seems to provide old patterns developing with some of those you love, those old irritating patterns that you’d thought were a thing of the past. It is most helpful that Pluto’s position with Neptune provides understanding on a deeper level within this circumstance, helping you to understand what is going on with them rather than taking it in an offensive way yourself. The Moon coming into your sign on the 24th through the 26th shares in this difficulty, but provides a Grand Sextile with Saturn and Mercury to show you that one of the biggest reasons people love you is because of who you are and a big part of who you are is Guiding others. It’s no wonder they always come to you, because they always know they can get the most awesome advice on the market, and that is truly a beautiful thing! Lucky Days: 19th – 21st
December 22 - January 19
January 20 - February 18
February 19 - March 20
Aquarius: Building a stronger foundation is key to success this month, as it’s the strong foundation you need to be able to handle the many things you have to do. The Moon finds her way in your sign twice this week. She kicks off the month on the first as she comes out of a Blue Moon of change and possibilities, but you’ll have to work to get what you want! As she moves into T Squared positon with Saturn, Venus, and Jupiter, it’s the same old situation when it seems like old patterns are creeping up and getting in the way of your career success. But at the end of the month on the 26th through the 28th, her opposition with Venus and Mars show you how much your own thoughts and worries have an impact on all of the awesome things you want to get accomplished. You can’t get anything done by feeling like you don’t deserve it. It’s time to let go of those thoughts and see what you’re really made of Lucky Days: 21 st – 23 rd
Pisces: The Sun and Jupiter move into Opposition with Neptune this month, providing difficulties as you find yourself feeling pulled between your career and your home life. But Neptune’s aspects with Pluto provide a basis for old ideas and ways of doing things to get a fresh new look, and provide new ways of organizing your time so you can balance everything you need and want to do. The Moon presents herself into your sign twice this month. First, on the 2nd through the 5th she kicks off the month with a Grand Water Trine with Mars and Saturn, providing you the help you need to make your most valued goals come true. But as she rounds out the month, it seems more like everything you touch turns to crap, and you’re faced looking into the mirror of your own mess. This challenge provides the opportunity to understand where this feeling comes from, so you can eliminate it for good! This is no room for self-doubt in this journey, only awesome possibilities! Lucky Days: 23rd – 25th

Live, Laugh & Love With Kimberly Reyes HELPING CLIENTS FIND PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL JOY
Were You Born to be an Entrepreneur? How many of you had a toy gumball machine when you were a child? You remember, the little plastic red gumball machines that you could put a penny in and out would pop a brightly colored gumball…. You could unscrew the top and fill it up over and over while the other end filled with pennies! Picture this…. Christmas morning, four year old little girl stumbles out in her footsie jammies to find stacks of Christmas Presents under the tree…. She has to patiently wait while her brother and sister get settled around the tree before they can all take turns opening their presents…. She dives in and opens that shiny gumball machine… The next package was yummy gumballs with vibrant colors.
I remember being so excited that I didn’t even wait to finish opening my other presents before I broke open the gumballs and started filling the cavity with candy…. I remember the sound as they dropped in and the sweet smell…. I immediately jumped up and got pennies… FUN! Well… with that… at four…. What would you do? I went in and got dressed… wandered outside and decided that I would go door to door Christmas morning, selling all of those yummy gumballs to my neighbors… By the time my parents realized I was gone… I was at the end of the street and had made twenty six cents! I was SO proud of myself and sat counting my pennies…. My parents were NOT amused….. I think that I have been an entrepreneur since birth…
21
By the time I was 12 I had taught myself to sew and was selling throw pillows, décor items, Christmas stockings and other handmade items….
By the time I was 15 The pillow making and eventual bedding and drapery creations had led to Interior Design Consultations, furniture making and mural painting.
By the time I was 18 I was making money doing all of the things that I loved and was passionate about…. BUT, started college as an accounting major…. Because that is what I was told I SHOULD do…. I continued to make money to put myself through college doing all the things that I thought were Hobbies. Surely if they were so
fun and I was SO passionate about them…. They were only a hobby. I furthered my quest for a “real job.”
Sound Familiar? I KNOW that I am not the only one that has started down a path that wasn’t the one that would feed our soul and bring us JOY. I work with people every day that are searching for the “thing” that will make them happy. So often we end up in careers that don’t suit our personalities. They become a J.O.B. It sucks out the life instead of replenishing our spirit.
Obligation & Perseverance As much as I headed toward a corporate position… my spirit led me to entrepreneurship. Could I finish grad school and get a high paying corporate job? Yes. I never doubted that I could do it… But, did I really want to and was it right for me? Would I be happy?
Finally….
I QUIT!

Sticks & Stones... Yeah, Whatever. By Cathy Alessandra This happens in personal life too! You know the mom who thinks their kid can do no wrong, who whispers with the other moms when your kid is reprimanded, and takes great pleasure in someone else having a problem? Yes, hater. You know they are having their own problems, but it’s easier to focus on yours… and throw the sticks, stones and names! There are some people who just make it their life’s mission to complain, put down and otherwise try and derail others in life and business and it usually comes down to their unhappiness. I’ve had a hater or two in my day. No fun for sure, but stooping to their level was certainly not my MO (That’s where I let Karma step in – and Karma can be a “you know what”)!
The old saying “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me” means just as much in business as it does in your personal life. Let me explain… Do you listen to what “they say”? The names that will never hurt you are in the form of comments, innuendo and criticism. Does it bother you, upset you, and maybe take you down a rabbit hole of “oh no”, “what if”, “but”? BINGO – the names as well as the sticks and stones are hurting you!
Here are a few tips to keep the name calling from taking you down…. 1. Don’t take things personally. The first of The 4 Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. If you haven’t read the book yet, it’s time. This first agreement alone can be a life saver. Much of the time, when the name calling starts, it’s really them experiencing jealousy over where they are – comparing themselves to you. It’s their own “stuff” and truly has nothing to really do with you.
One of the four core principles for Yes I Can is to BE YOU! You are like no one else. You are a masterpiece – a work of art. Step out into the world as your own original self. But what do you do when someone tries to step on you and squash you like a bug. I’ve heard many super successful entrepreneurs say, “You haven’t made it until you have haters”. While none of us want haters, I think when you’ve “made” it, being your authentic self means you are going to put your own opinion out there and not play to just appease. That in itself can put a bulls eye on you. Not everyone is going to agree with your opinion, your actions or your behavior. But this typically comes from THEIR insecurities and shortcomings. Maybe they are not making it, not finding success, not loving what they are doing – and it’s easier for them to “hate”, complain and “bitch”, then look at themselves in the mirror. Their reality might just be too painful.
2. Hold your head high and don’t stoop to their level. While it can be so tempting to fight back or defend yourself, most of the time it’s not worth your breath. Yes, there may be circumstances where you need to hire a lawyer or take it to that higher level, but it’s not the norm. And certainly DO NOT wage a war on social media. When I was struggling with a woman who had made it her mission to say all kinds of horrible things, I was reminded of the famous Dr Seuss quote… “Be who you are and say how you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” 24
Sticks & Stones | Cathy Alessandra
3. You don’t need their approval. When did you get the idea that you need their stamp of approval? For every hater, you have 100’s of lovers. You are going to attract those you are meant to attract – quality vs quantity. At 50 years old, I can count my closest friends on one (ok, maybe 2) hands. It’s clear I’m not meant to be friends with everyone. I’m not meant to work with everyone. I’m here to support and have relationships with those who resonate with me and what I stand for – and not everyone is going to like me! That’s OK – there are plenty who do!
Here’s the bottom line….. If you are living your own authentic life, within your own values, morals and integrity, WHO CARES? Letting their negative energy pull you down the drain is not what serves you, or them honestly. As hard as it might be to let it go, you must if you want to move forward. Go ahead, have a 3 second pity party, throw something across the room (make sure no one is in the way of it), pout at your desk if you must, maybe take a break for a walk and re-group, then move on. Don’t let THEIR circumstances and attitude affect YOU and your day! For more #YESICAN www.CathyAlessandra.com.

Create Your Own Community and Grow More than Revenue By Caterina Rando
Your business can do so much more than serve your clients. Your business can connect your clients and cultivate them into community. An incredible community of like-minded people provides massive value to your clients that you alone cannot deliver. When you create and foster connection and camaraderie through community your clients will love you and stick around forever.
Your community is more valuable than any content you can deliver. Consciously cultivate your community to have it be even more powerful and the value to those in your community will be significant. Follow these ideas to get your community started and begin to provide massive value to the people you serve:
Belonging is a Basic Human Need Isolation kills dreams, promotes depression and can make it difficult to stay positive and keep hope alive. Community is the solution for many reasons. Humans feel safe and comfortable and accepted when they are with people similar to them. Often in life we can’t find people like us. For example if someone has cancer, or has lost a loved one, or is struggling with their weight, they can feel really alone. When they convene with others in a similar situation it feels good for many reasons including knowing you are not alone and having a place to ask questions gain support and share ideas.
Pick a Purpose For Your Community Communities are formed around all kinds of things. It could be to create friendships, to grow businesses, to help everyone become healthier, to eliminate clutter and improve relationships are just a few ideas. Give Your Community a Name You may do a variety of things in your business and have a variety of programs or offerings. Give your community a name that can encompass all of the ways you serve. You can include the word community in the name to make it extra clear what you are up to.
The Value of Community is Priceless A community can inspire you, support you, and make you feel like the luckiest person on the planet. The value of any group exponentially multiplies when the people in it have a strong sense of belonging to a community of people like them. In a community the members will cultivate friendships, share resources become each other's clients and referral partners, and quickly start to support each other in a variety of ways. This quantifiably increases the amount of value they receive from working with you. This also keeps them engaged with you as a client hopefully for the long-term.
Create a Visual Brand for Your Community In order to create more awareness of your community and to make it easy for members to know communications are from your community select brand colors and create a log o for your brand. Get Clear on Who Your Community is Intended to Serve People want to gather with people like them. What kind of people do you want in your community? This can be based on demographics like gender or age and psychographics like common interest, attitude or values. Included in this is the

commonality that binds the group together. It could be a shared goal like getting healthier, a shared past experience, like getting divorced or a shared interest like scrapbooking. Write down your idea of who you want in your community and do not let people join who do not meet this criteria. This means that you do not add people as a client that you do not want in your community.
Just for Fun Events Consider hosting some activities that have nothing to do with the regular purpose of the group. This helps community members bond with each other. Would your community members be willing to do something that might make them a little uncomfortable, yet still fun? It doesn’t have to rock climbing or zip lining, but maybe a helicopter ride, a karaoke sing-off or watching a movie together would be a great way to have people get to know each other.
Select The Values You Want to Guide Your Community You want the values by which you run your community to be the same as the values by which you run your business. Write them down and talk about them in your community so that everyone can align with the values and demonstrate the values when in community.
Encourage Additional Getting Together Once your whole community calendar is scheduled begin to suggest and support people in your community getting together for whatever reason they like with other members of the group. Usually this will only reinforce and even expand your community.
Be Accessible to Those In Your Community If you are the leader or convener of the community make sure that you are available to the people in your community. This means at events, after events and between events by phone, text and email. As long as it does not overwhelm you, put no restriction on your community members wanting to connect with you.
Make All Group Members Feel Seen and Heard and Valued We never want anyone in the community to feel invisible or like they do not really belong. Be sure to welcome everyone individually and tell them you are so glad they have joined you and be sure everyone’s voice get in the room. This supports cultivating a feeling of belonging in your community.
Regular Gatherings Communities can be form online in virtual forums, however the strongest communities have regular live and in person gatherings. These gatherings could be social, educational or project oriented. Decide what the gatherings will be and how often they will occur. You can have all different kinds of gatherings within the same community.
Allow Everyone to Shine Look for ways to shine the spotlight on people in the community, when they have accomplished something, when they are working on something and they would like support from the group. A slideshow with everyone’s picture in it all shines light on individual members of your community. Look for more ways to do this.
