WAKING UP IN THE MORNING
My day starts at 7 o’clock in the morning. The alarm clock goes off, and wakes me up. I always hit the snooze button for more than 30 minutes. Then I wake up again, yawn, stretch in bed, and say my prayers. I get up and turn the lights on. I always make my bed because I think it's important to make your bed when you get up. To make my bed, I spread the bed sheet and duvet cover so that it’s straight and tuck it in at the corners. I fold the blanket and the top sheet and then I tidy up the pillows. I change the bed sheets and pillowcases at least once a week, usually on a Saturday morning. My mattress is orthopaedic – these types of mattresses are good for people who have muscle problems. Fortunately, I don’t have muscle problems, but I like to sleep comfortably and my mattress is not too soft. The joints are supported by memory foam in order to better support the whole body. I think it's better than a spring mattress. After I have made my bed, I put on my flip flops, leave my bedroom remembering to turn off the lights as I do so and I go to the bathroom to wash.

IN THE BATHROOM Sometimes it’s still dark at 7 in the morning and so I have to turn the bathroom lights on. When I’m in the bathroom, the first thing I do is tend to my physiological needs. I use the toilet, press the button, flush the toilet and after that I wash my hands thoroughly. I usually wash my face with warm water, especially in the winter. In the summer, I use cold water as it’s very refreshing and wakes me up quickly! I use a special soap for my face; this soap is usually liquid, but I can also buy it in bars from the supermarket. Every other day I take a shower in the morning, but I generally prefer to have a bath after work as it’s more relaxing. I usually have a bath in the afternoon or evening. I brush my teeth using special toothpaste which helps prevent against gum disease. It also whitens your teeth! I also floss between my teeth and I use mouthwash. I replace my toothbrush every 3 months. When I’m in the bathroom, I try not to waste water by not letting the taps run longer than I have to. That’s why I turn the tap off while I'm brushing my teeth, as I only need to turn it on to wet my toothbrush and then to rinse the toothpaste away after I’ve finished. Male version
I shave myself every other day or when my stubble starts to show. I use shaving cream and a manual razor to shave myself. I don’t like to use electric razors; they make my face itch. I always shave myself in front of a mirror to make sure I get a close shave, and also to ensure that I don’t cut myself! From time to time my razor’s blade is dull, so I have to replace the blades which helps me get a close shave. After shaving, I use aftershave to moisturize my skin, but sometimes it stings. Female version When I get to the bathroom, I use the toilet, flush it, and then wash my hands and my face. I only use water on my face because soap dries out my skin. After drying my face, I use an astringent to keep my pores clean and free from blackheads. I apply it to my face using cotton balls. After I’ve cleaned my face with astringent, I moisturize using an anti-ageing cream. Then I start to apply my makeup. First, I start with a light foundation which also has sun blocker in it. I apply this with a special sponge. Then, if I’ve had a late night, I might have dark circles under my eyes so I pass a corrective for it under my eyes, on the dark circles. Next, I apply eyeliner on the bottom of my eyes and also on my eyebrows to colour and highlight them. I use mascara only if I am going out in the evening, as I have dark, long eyelashes naturally. I use a very pale blush on the cheeks day to day and a lip gloss also. I dry my hair quickly giving it a light modelled shape. Then, I use a lotion to moisturize the rest of my body, and I spray deodorant under my arms before getting dressed. Once ready, I always spray myself with a soft perfume. Once a week I exfoliate my skin by going through a deep cleaning routine in a beauty salon Men & women After washing my hands, face and shaving, I always dry myself using a clean, soft towel. When taking a bath, I use a soap that cleans, moisturizes and perfumes the skin. I also use a dandruff shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for dry hair. There is also a conditioner for greasy and brittle hair that I use, depending on how my hair is on any particular day. After applying the shampoo, I wash and rinse my hair to remove the foam and then apply the conditioner to soften my hair a little. In the bath, I use a long-handled brush to wash my back as it is impossible to reach the small of my back to scrub it without this brush. I like baths but sometimes I take a shower instead if I'm in a hurry. I like bath’s more because I find them relaxing. I always try not to make any mess in the bathroom. If I soak the floor, I dry it with a towel and I always put things away in their proper place. For example, I
always put the toilet roll back on the toilet roll holder if it falls off. I always put the lid of the toilet seat down before flushing it to prevent germs and bacteria from spreading. I put my toothbrush and floss back into the bathroom wall cabinet, and I have a shelf where I keep my shampoo and soap. Once I finish my activities in the bathroom, I turn off the lights and return to my bedroom to get dressed.
