TRAVEL, TOURISM AND RECREATION
OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY
It is stated often, it’s all about location, location, LOCATION! A well-kept secret is that the greater CORONA area is THE location for recreation and tourism. The beautiful reality about this area is that it’s truly a hub of activities within the Circle City and very close to it! Many people call this area home to their business, to their household, and to where they play. The secret is leaking out, though!

Over six years ago, the Corona Chamber took a brisk move to be the first Chamber in the region to aggressively campaign for local control of the Ontario International Airport. In 2021, Ontario International celebrated its 5th anniversary since its separation from the Los Angeles World Airports. Having local control translates to economic recovery and stability, and offers opportunities for patrons to use remote parking, cut emissions, and obtain more flight options.
Convenience of travel is a masterplan of early city leaders from Corona. Boasting two Metrolink stations enables those residents who choose to commute to benefit from these railway travels (or enjoy a weekend trip somewhere). Riverside Transit Agency provides local riders the ability to move swiftly through key locations in Riverside County, and the Corona Cruiser has routes that cover the city.
Tourism is yet another benefit of the greater Corona region. Within 30 minutes and less than two hours, you can travel to the desert, the mountains, the beach, downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Diego, Palm Springs, Mexico, and many, many other communities (or be halfway to Las Vegas or Arizona). But let’s not forget our own backyard. Home to the Historic Mission Inn, the neighboring city of Riverside also has numerous sites to have on your list of great visits: Citrus Historic Park, Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture and Industry, Fox Theater, and the Riverside Art Museum, to name a few.
Corona is home to some amazing golf courses, including Eagle Glen, Green River and Dos Lagos, with another, Hidden Valley, being just one exit away in Norco. We have various museums, including the Troy Lee Museum, Corona Art Association, Heritage Park Museum, and Fender Music Showroom. The March Field Air Museum or Richard Nixon Presidential Library are just minutes away. Corona also has indoor racing at Pole Position, zip-lining at Skull Canyon, a shooting range at Mike Raahauge’s, indoor play centers such as Big Air Trampoline Park, and of course, outdoor recreation opportunities at any one of Corona’s more than three dozen parks and trails. Over The Moon Escape Rooms will test your mystery-solving skills, and productions put on by Christian Arts & Theatre, the Corona Symphony Orchestra, and OBC Theatre provide entertainment through the arts. Those looking for relaxation can visit the world-famous Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa, or the adults-only Glen Eden Sun Club. History buffs can visit the vintage homes along Grand Blvd., or have fun locating all of the historic markers around town.
The adjacent community of Norco is home to SilverLakes, a well-established sports facility that has brought worldwide recognition to the soccer tournaments they host, along with other soon-to-bereleased improvements with additional sporting opportunities. They also host concerts for artists such as Tim McGraw (3/12/22), with more planned for June and September. As Horsetown USA, the equestrian-loving community can take riding lessons or participate in the various rodeos Norco brings to town.
The hotel base in our region provides a variety of different amenities to house traveling sports groups to families, and of course those on business travel. A listing of member lodging options is in the back of this publication. CORONA offers these as part of the entire location, location, LOCATION theme, and highlighted on the next few pages are some of these great treasures in our community.
