Our Story:
Empowering Those In Need and Leaving a Legacy of Life Since 1998
In 1998, a group of compassionate people joined together for a common purpose - to make a lasting impact in the lives of women and families by offering no-cost, life-affirming medical and family support before, during, and after unplanned pregnancies. Three key acts brought this dream to fruition: the generous contribution of office space by an anonymous donor, a seed donation from Riverside Life Services, and a team of volunteers and counselors that put their passion and skills into action to serve others. On February 2, 1998, “Tender Loving Care” was officially launched, eventually evolving into Corona Life Services.
As the years go by, our center and list of critical services have only grown to meet the growing demand in our local community for our services. In 2005, Corona Life Services was registered in California as a community health clinic, and began serving pregnant women through limited obstetric ultrasounds, which confirm pregnancies and detect early pregnancy risks. Donations from like-minded supporters allow us to now offer clients the latest in ultrasound technology via the Mindray EC7, which can detect a fetal heartbeat much earlier. Each year, our parenting education, mentoring, and support services continue to strengthen women and families and prepare them for the future. In 2020, we listened to the growing needs of our community, deciding it was time to move into a larger facility to care for more clients and expand our services. Although much has changed since Corona Life Services began serving women and families, we have remained steadfast in our original vision. We are still committed to caring for the most vulnerable and acting as a critical resource for pregnant women and families in their time of need. Over time, however, our role in the community has evolved to include a leading, innovative community health program with a youth education component. The program equips at-risk adolescents with the necessary communication and relationship skills to practice responsible decision-making.
These expansions have allowed us to serve as a refuge to diverse groups of people, from low-income individuals to women of color and youth and adults facing adversity such as domestic violence, housing insecurity, etc. By earning the trust of various communities and through continuous quality improvement, our center improves the lives of people facing overwhelming circumstances. Our staff not only works to meet their needs in an immediate crisis, but we also continue to provide for our client’s long-term needs. Corona Life Services went from providing support and abortion alternatives to 60 women and families in 2013 to over 1,400 in 2021. As our center continues to adapt to our client’s needs, we will only continue to expand, providing no-cost community health services and the holistic care they would not receive elsewhere.
“The highly-trained nursing staff at our clinic want to make sure clients know where they can go for help,” said Nancy Fransen, Nurse Manager at Corona Life Services.

Two members of Corona Life Services’s nursing staff introduce a pregnant woman to her baby via an ultrasound.
“We’re the first step for clients seeking STI testing, pregnancy services, and health education. We care for the whole person. Our clients know that - in their words - we are a ‘safe, non-judgmental, and loving’ environment. We walk with them, no matter their situation. We earn their trust, and this trust goes a long way. Sometimes this trust and their ability to make an informed decision becomes a turning point in their lives.”
No matter a client’s need, Corona Life Services is there to provide compassionate, life-changing care that fills women and families with hope for their future. WHY OUR SERVICES ARE NEEDED
Patient feedback and an upward trend in the number of clients visiting our clinic each year illustrate the need for life-affirming, nocost reproductive health care and education, particularly for lowincome women.
For the past 24 years, Corona Life Services has worked tirelessly to address the needs of anyone who comes through our door, much to our clients’ satisfaction. Our whole-person approach combines physical, psycho-social, and spiritual support to equip clients with the information, accompaniment, and confidence necessary to make clear decisions about their pregnancy and reproductive health.
“I remember sitting there, and they started doing [the ultrasound], and then I heard the heartbeat. I started crying. It was just crazy, and then from that second, I knew this was my baby, and I’m going to keep him,” said Paige, 14 years old, former Corona Life Services client (See Paige and baby Rome in above photo.).
Our staff empowers both men and women through our parenting, career-building and mentorship programs, helping to foster strong relationships among new parents that will ultimately benefit future generations.
This unique mentorship approach to our clients is also present in our sexual risk avoidance education programming. In 2018, the number of bacterial STDs in California increased substantially. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that California had the largest number of reported chlamydia, gonorrhea, and adult syphilis cases. When it came to congenital syphilis, California ranked second compared to all 50 states.
These numbers weigh on our hearts as we strive to increase our outreach efforts and connect with those in need. Through our youth education program, we equip teenagers with preventative strategies necessary to avoid STI/

STDs, unplanned pregnancies, and risky decisions that threaten their well-being and future success.
Corona Life Services understands that investing in preventative education is truly worth “a pound of cure”. By teaching our clients how to avoid risk and empowering them with support and medically accurate information, we help inspire longterm, positive change that enables our clients to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
MEETING THE NEED THROUGH TARGETED GENEROSITY
Corona Life Services cannot work alone to meet the needs of clients looking for pregnancy or low-cost health care services. Our center’s ability to continue offering this unique type of holistic care depends on ongoing support from individuals, community organizations, churches, and corporations dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of families. Whether it be volunteering at our center, donating supplies, or making a financial contribution, caring for the health and wellbeing of those in need requires involvement from those concerned enough to take action.
“Investing your money and time in Corona Life Services is investing in the future of our community. For more than 20 years, Corona Life Services has been a beacon of hope for young women in crisis. It has given them invaluable material and spiritual support as they navigate the perilous journey from unplanned pregnancy to fulfilling parenthood,” City Council Member (and current Mayor, District 5, City of Corona) Wes Speake said in 2020 about our center.
The collective investment of countless community leaders, churches, individuals, and corporations has made it possible for Corona Life Services to be the oasis of care that it is today. Recently, renovation efforts from Crossroads Christian Church enabled us to expand the scope of our ultrasound services, but addressing the unmet needs of such a diverse group of clients is an ongoing battle.
Partners such as these have demonstrated their commitment to uplifting those in need by supporting our center’s growth and ability to reach more individuals seeking what we have to offer. Corporations and community partners, leverage their capacities to invest in meaningful social action by directing their resources toward a higher purpose.
Corona Life Services is enriched and sustained by the diverse partners that have supported it from its humble beginning in 1998, enabling us to leave a legacy of life and hope in our community for future generations. We encourage everyone not to sit idly by as women and families face life-altering decisions about their lives. We call our community to turn heartbreak into productive action, helping families grow by planting seeds of hope that will transform lives and benefit future generations.
Ultrasound as a Tool for Change
Thanks to the Knights of Columbus, a group dedicated to expressing faith through charitable works, our center has a new ultrasound machine. The ability to offer high-resolution ultrasound technology is crucial to our operations. In addition to providing expectant mothers with a glimpse of their babies, it helps us safeguard women’s health by providing information about critical aspects of their pregnancy.
“The Knights of Columbus are honored to support Corona Life Services with the donation of a new Ultrasound Machine that will aid Melisa Lindros and her dedicated staff and volunteers to provide free Ultrasounds as they work to empower women in their moment of crisis, ensuring they don’t have to cope with a lifetime of pain and regret,” said David Cortens, chairman of the group’s California Ultrasound Program.

Landfills are a Large Source of Methane Gas in California
Organic waste (food scraps, yard waste, etc.) in landfills emit 20% of the State’s methane, a short-lived climate pollutant that remains in the atmosphere for a shorter period of time than carbon dioxide, yet the potential to cause harm to the atmosphere is many times greater.

Senate Bill (SB) 1383
In a statewide effort to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants, specifically methane, SB 1383 went into effect on January 1, 2022 and created targets that must:
• Reduce organic waste landfill disposal 75% by
2025 based on the 2014 levels
• Donate at least 20% of currently disposed
surplus food by 2025 to feed those in need
What does this mean to you as a business?
Under Assembly Bill 1826, which went into effect in 2016, businesses that generate 2 cubic yards (approx. 400 gallons) or more of solid waste (trash) per week were required to recycle organic waste. Under SB 1383, ALL businesses, regardless of the amount of solid waste generated per week, are required to recycle their organic waste. For information on organic waste services, please contact Waste Management at (800) 423-9986. In addition, if you are a business that generates surplus food that is still edible (grocery stores, markets, manufacturers, etc.), you are required to donate any edible surplus food to those in need rather than disposing of it.
