The Quantum label is only awarded to such loudspeakers that absolutely satisfy the highest demands of the engineers at Magnat. The legendary Quantum 900 series and its radical drive unit developments has already set new performance standards. The Quantum 1000 series is preparing to push those reference points even higher. Almost all of the component parts have been completely re-designed using methods based on the latest technological developments. For instance, absolutely state-of-the-art diaphragms have been developed for the mid-range and woofer speaker units. Primarily "controlled flexing cones", formed from aluminium, have been used in the mid-range speakers. This radical new cone geometry permits the controlled projection of wave fronts in the frequency band relevant to mid-range speakers and with it comes the ability to handle a greater bandwidth. However, for the woofers, the engineers came up with a flatter cone profile that improves the all round dispersion allowing a better, more seamless marriage to the mid drivers. The modified dust cap also confers additional stability. The magnetic circuits on both drivers have been further optimised with regard to the stray fields generated. Twin induction rings also allow the voice coil to move more symmetrically. This gives a clearer sound and reduces distortion to levels that are almost immeasurable. A more effective increased force has also been achieved thus enhancing efficiency. The die-cast aluminium chassis is anti-magnetic and features extensive ventilation openings to minimise turbulence and compression effects around the moving diaphragm. Solid metal rings hold the loudspeaker chassis in position. Up to eight screws have been used to secure these drive units rigidly to the baffle.Magnat's engineers chose a 25 millimetre "F-Max Signature" dome for the high frequency range and elected to coat the fine fabric with ceramic particles. The tweeter possesses a particularly wide surround that ensures improved dispersion well beyond 20KHz. A copper cap in the magnet system reduces distortion while extensive ventilation allows the necessary cooling. The dome is also double ventilated at the front to prevent voice-coil symmetry from being negatively impacted when playing at high levels. The dome itself is secured by a solid aluminium front panel guaranteeing optimum coupling to the front baffle and minimising the potential for unwanted resonance. Crossover filters constitute the heart of loudspeakers and have a profound effect on their sound. For this reason only the very finest components have been employed to produce the Quantum 1000 series. The crossover filters with their transformer core coils and audiophile polypropylene capacitors built to 24dB LKR topology standards are assembled on two separate circuit boards with the aim of allowing optimum performance of the drivers when they are used in bi-wired applications. Both circuit boards are also mechanically insulated from the cabinet structure and fitted in separate chambers in the loudspeaker bases. From there the signal is distributed to the respective drivers via sophisticated Oehlbach interior cabling.

The speakers' connection terminals also reflect this attention to detail, being gold plated to ensure a good quality connection over time and encapsulated in acrylic insulation. They allow very secure connections to be made even when attaching very heavy gauge loudspeaker cable. Every aspect of the Quantum 1000 series has been considered. The double-sectioned side reinforcements with varying material thickness have been designed to reduce vibrations in the cabinet. Additional bracing supports the chassis units and minimizes reflections. Even the tweeter has been housed in its own separate enclosure. This reference series consists of four different loudspeakers. The two larger floor-standing speakers are configured as a 3-way and 2-way system with double bass. They are complimented by a 2-way compact box and a centre speaker also designed as a 2-way system with double bass. Even the world's best sound needs to be usefully and attractively packaged. As such, the Quantum 1000 loudspeakers in their high-gloss varnish black or white finishes with real wood side panels constitute a design highlight in their own right!

The cones operate as pure pistons in the bass range while becoming a bending wave transducer at mid frequencies. optimised die-cast aluminium chassis that also incorporates ventilation for cooling of the voice coil. This chassis material is structurally inert and non-magnetic, which contributes towards the speaker's enhanced linearity and symmetry. This not only results in extremely low distortion but also improves fine resolution and the sense of space the speakers are able to recreate. All of the drive units possess highly durable voice coils. The "F-Max Signature" tweeter features a low-mass, hand-coated glass fibre/fabric dome. The 25 mm membrane has a very wide surround which optimises dispersion properties at the highest frequencies. The magnet core is ventilated via a coupled and microfibre damped chamber. The tweeter faceplate has been designed as a flat horn to produce uniform dispersion properties in the transition to the midrange. An additional advantage provided by the tweeter's tightly controlled dispersion properties is in the reduction of interference from edge reflections.

The APOC crossover not only incorporates a fourth order filter, (a complex but effective solution with regard to performance) it also guarantees that the phase for each individual speaker is equal over the transitional range. The result is a particularly clear sound pattern with inaudible transitions between the drivers. Accurate bass reflex alignment was achieved with the help of the Klippel laser measuring system. The true audio enthusiast seeks loudspeakers that will deliver a wide and even frequency response with excellent dispersion. Speakers that can reproduce the full dynamic range of music with lightning fast transients. Speakers that will replay all types of music and which will look visually appealing. To achieve these ideals, an enormous investment in research and development is required along with technical knowledge, broad experience and a love of good sound. The Quantum 750 series meets this challenge head on. Starting from the premise that only the cones of a speaker should move, and therefore cabinet resonances are to be kept to a minimum, massive, double layered MDF front panels of 45 and 40 mm in thickness have been realized with the new Quantum 750 series. Such extreme measures are highly unusual anywhere amongst speaker manufacturers worldwide and, in conjunction with the extensive bracing deployed within the cabinet, provides the optimum foundation for the speaker drivers used which are geared towards the Quantum 1000 and 800 class in their design and quality. All speaker chassis of the low and midrange drivers have been manufactured in non-magnetic and torsionally rigid die-cast aluminum. The aluminium and ceramic low-midrange cones guarantee pulse fidelity and clean bass response. The motive force is provided by a double magnet system which exerts close control over precision wound voice coils bonded to formers made from heat resistant material. The woofers work in an enclosure vented by Airflex bass reflex ports with their radiused apertures. These significantly reduce noise & turbulence compared to the conventional bass reflex tubes found elsewhere. A new high-efficiency F-Max tweeter with double magnet system and dual compound fabric dome has been developed for high frequencies. To achieve a particularly smooth transition to the midrange, the tweeters have also been equipped with a dampened pole piece vent, i.e. its own small rear enclosure. To further enhance its dispersion properties, the Alu/ABS tweeter faceplate also has a unique custom designed profile. Both phase- and amplitude-optimised crossovers incorporate the highest quality components and couple to the drivers via internal wiring made of high-purity copper. Substantial encapsulated binding posts allow the connection of even the heaviest gauge speaker cables ensuring proper & secure contact between amplifier and speaker. Bi-amping and bi-wiring are also possible. The speakers are configured with extensive internal bracing to minimize panel resonance and the floor-standing designs include the provision to be mounted on metal spikes to guarantee secure location on softer surfaces.

To complete a home cinema system, the 750 series also includes a centre speaker which has been developed to deliver a high level of speech intelligibility and which features twin bass/midrange drivers. All of its drivers have full magnetic shielding. To augment low frequencies, the Quantum 731A subwoofer can be used. It is equipped with a 12-inch/300 mm long-throw woofer and ventilated voice coil system for a high power handling. The integral power amplifier can deliver peaks exceeding 350 watts and is equipped with a real-time limiter and active frequency response correction. The subwoofer is designed as a down firing bass reflex system and operates on a solid, permanently mounted plinth that maintains a precise distance to the chassis & diaphragm to prevent compression effects. The front panels and plinths of the 750 models have a high gloss finish. The main cabinets are finished with either a satin lacquer or genuine wood veneer. The Quantum 750 series are not inexpensive but their true value becomes clear when one realizes how such an elaborately designed and successful speaker can give the music and movie lover many hours of relaxation and inspiration.

The new Quantum 670 series represents the latest evolution of the highly regarded Magnat Quantum 650 range which earned so much approval in both German and International test reports. Based on a visually and technically successful design, significant improvements have been achieved in the acoustic dynamics, treble reproduction and pulse fidelity. The sound stage the speakers present now feels even more spacious and lively. Many of the features of the Quantum 670 series are normally only found in far more expensive products. Newly developed FE Dynamics chassis frames with exceptionally stiff & light aluminium/ceramic diaphragms are used for the bass/midrange, which results in a very precise and dynamic sound. The non-magnetic speaker baskets; manufactured from carbon fibre-reinforced ABS, have been flow-optimised. The voice coils have been specified for high power handling and are equipped with an air cooling system built into the driver chassis. The HRH ("Harmonic Radiation Horn") tweeter first introduced in the earlier range has been further enhanced for the new Quantum 670 series. In addition to fine tuning the drive unit, a completely new, shallower horn is incorporated. This new tweeter exhibits a high degree of efficiency and also allows re-engineering of woofers and subwoofers to give a more dynamic overall sound with more "life-likeâ&#x20AC;? qualities. The tweeter dome is made of soft artificial silk and features a diaphragm surface 20 percent larger than conventional 1-inch domes. The completely redesigned level- and phase-optimised crossovers with their 4th order acoustic slopes are also responsible for a completely rounded and seamless sound quality. High-quality crossover components, including air cored inductors and film capacitors, have naturally been accommodated. High purity copper cables from the specialists Oehlbach are used for the internal wiring. Large bi-wiring/bi-amping terminals with gold-plated screw terminals ensure optimum contact. Bass reflex tuning, like the driver chassis, has been developed with the help of the KlippelÂŽ laser measuring system based on different frequencies and levels. All tubes are flow-optimised (which can be seen in their trumpet-like shape) and are fitted flush in the cabinet for optimal stability and efficient coupling. An unusual feature at this price range is represented by the elaborate cabinet. Thanks to the rounded side panels parasitic standing waves are reduced. In addition, numerous internal braces ensure enhanced stability and freedom from resonance. Solid high-gloss baffles measuring up to 25 mm in thickness guarantee optimum operating conditions for the drive units.

Furthermore, the floor-standing speakers and the subwoofer also come with substantial plinths to ensure separation from the floor. All of the speakers are provided with height-adjustable rubber feet; the floor-standing speakers also coming with metal spikes. The drivers are protected by a removable but acoustically transparent grille. The centre speaker and subwoofer have been specially developed for their particular areas of application. Both the baffle profile and the coordination of the crossover for the centre speaker have been designed to ensure high speech intelligibility. The subwoofer, which features "Down Fire" technology, is equipped with a solid plinth that not only separates it from the floor, but also acts as an acoustic midrange filter. Of course, the subwoofer features its own adjustable high-power amplifier to ensure perfect integration with the other speakers in a home cinema system. The speakers of the Quantum 670 series are not only convincing by virtue of their numerous technological features. The clean and modern lines and high quality workmanship have also turned a high-tech acoustic product into a fine piece of furniture.

The Vector 200 series has a famous lineage. It is descended from the highly efficient loudspeakers in the original Vector range that were enthusiastically received by fans. The appearance of the highly praised Quantum 500 series with its varnished baffles and metal grilles became a model for subsequent products. The Vector 200 series was developed using the latest measuring and simulation equipment with the aim of achieving maximum sound quality combined with the highest levels of efficiency thereby allowing the speakers to be used with a wide range of different amplifiers. The experience gained in creating the Quantum series has contributed to this evolution and the decision was taken to develop all of the drive units with the aid of our modern measurement and simulation technology, the KlippelÂŽ system. The FE Dynamics subwoofer and midrange drivers feature lightweight, specially coated paper cones while the non-magnetic, fibrereinforced ABS baskets have been optimised for maximum driver excursion. The finite element method was used to development the magnetic circuits. Large openings in the basket along with voice-coil ventilation ensure high thermal resilience. All of these measures result in a sound which combines exemplary bass power with a natural sounding mid-range. The F-MAX Super Audio tweeter is equipped with an artificial silk dome and has a specially shaped tweeter flange that optimises horizontal and vertical dispersion while minimising troublesome edge diffraction. The combination of a powerful magnet with the ferro-fluid cooled voice coil results in a particularly transparent reproduction of high frequencies and makes a significant contribution to the speakersâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; exceptional capacity for recreating 3 dimensional space. An extremely flat frequency response and the correct phase characteristics have been achieved here, as is the case with all Magnat Quantum crossover networks. The filters operate with an acoustic 24dB slope, which enables a tangible stereo image that is detached from the enclosures to develop. The cabinets are built from low-resonance MDF to achieve additional stability while grid-shaped internal braces are fitted to reduce panel resonance and standing waves within the cabinet. The floor standing speakers come with solid plinths. Height-adjustable metal spikes and rubber feet are included to allow optimal location any type of floor. All Vector 200 models are designed as bass reflex speakers with the venting properties being coordinated with each other on the basis of a variety of signal sources as opposed to the more typical development from a single tone at one level. This ensures that the bass notes produced by different instruments at different levels always remain clean.

All of the bass-reflex port tubes have flared termination to reduce flow noise. Heavy gauge speaker cables may be connected to the bi-wiring/bi-amping terminals. The centre speakers have been optimised for speech intelligibility to suit the dialogue in movies and have high power handling thanks to their twin bass configuration. In addition to three traditional floor-standing speakers, two compact speakers and two different sized centre speakers, two new models have been added to the Vector range of products in 2012: The ultra-slim floor-standing speaker Vector 208 tower and the 111 mm deep Vector 202F designed for wall mounting that can show of its strengths as a surround sound speaker in a home cinema system. The subwoofers of the Omega series have been created for a wide variety of applications and combinations. Regardless of whether they are used with compact satellite speakers or to augment full range floorstanding speakers, the Omega units generate an additional foundation in the bass range, which really comes into its own in a home cinema system.The Omegas are active speakers and feature integrated high-power amplifiers. These have been designed to perfectly match the properties of the woofers but also enable precise adjustment to blend into the location and with the types of speaker that might accompany them in a home cinema installation. This acoustic adjustment allows both the level and crossover frequency to be varied as well as offering provision for phase reversal. The amplifiers operate with an LPC circuit for frequency response linearisation and a dynamic RT limiter which reduces distortion and protects the subwoofer from becoming overloaded. A common feature of all Omegas is the long-throw woofer, which has been specifically designed for the lowest frequency range. Both the woofer and the bass reflex tubes radiate downwards onto a solid base plate, whose dimensions have been accurately calculated. This construction not only enables a very deep, consistent and precise bass delivery throughout the room, it also functions as an effective mid-range filter and effectively attenuates port flow noise and unwanted higher frequencies. The solid fascia and base plate have been lacquered in a high gloss piano finish to visually enhance the elaborate technical configuration. The Omega Limited model is the Top-of-the-Range of the Magnat Omega Sub series. Further enhances all the relevant structural and design details. The allowed excursion of the driver, amplifier power, structural integrity of the cabinet are all improved.The cabinet itself is finished in a piano lacquer. In the software business one refers to a „Beta-version“ as a program still in the development and test phase, however, from the ‘Betasub’ series one can justifiably claim that it is not only mature, as shown by numerous comparative test victories, but also a near perfect Active Subwoofer. Modern flat-screen televisions are successfully delivering ever larger and more perfect pictures. Sadly their capabilities in reproducing convincing sound are less advanced because the shallower screens don’t allow for serious speakers to be included. Speech intelligibility and sound effects make an increasingly important contribution to genuine film enjoyment but home cinema fans are frequently forced to combine these great video systems with an overly large and complex audio system. Magnat comes up with a great sounding alternative to the typical fully active plug-and-play surround solution – the WSB Soundbar system is equipped with a sophisticated decoder in Dolby technology and optical digital input. It uses the same basic configuration consisting of just one Soundbar speaker and the wireless sub-woofer – which may be placed anywhere in the room. The WSB 50 system provides effective surround sound from just one space-saving box. However, there’s more to this box than meets the eye: a total of six loudspeakers, including a genuine tweeter dome, are powered by amplifiers that deliver a total performance of 50 watts. Just connect it to an existing DVD player or TV for instant pleasure. The integrated Dolby surround decoder processes the incoming signals and then passes them on to the actively controlled loudspeaker. After their delay & output levels have been set, the signals from the two rear channels are added to the front channels to produce an all encompassing sound via precisely calculated angles of dispersion and reflection, a feat that can only usually be achieved with five discrete speakers. Furthermore, users may then choose between a more direct sound or the particularly spatial “3D” setting. Deep bass is delivered by an 250-watt wireless active sub-woofer with 25-cm bass driver. This increases the WSB 50’s overall system performance to 450 watts. These reflex loaded sub-woofers feature the uncompromising ‘down firing’ bass alignment used in Magnat’s highest quality subwoofers. The WSB subwoofers may be positioned anywhere in the room but they are actually too good looking to hide. The quality and clear language of design will convince even the most fastidious living-room aesthetes and not in the least by the very elegant-looking front in piano finish. The remote control allows the system to be fully controlled from the comfort of the sofa. The display shows the currently selected function. Many home-cinema enthusiasts yearn for neat yet compact alternatives to the often bulky audio systems usually required in compensating for the ever-worsening sound produced by slimline modern TVs. Some people even think that our Soundbar products are visually too intrusive. To this end Magnat has now come up with a solution for such customers – a solution that can be almost entirely concealed. The Magnat Cinema 2.1 VA is a fully powered set of active loudspeakers comprising two tiny satellite boxes and a subwoofer that may be discreetly located while still delivering the fullest, deepest and most dynamic sound. Its benefit over the Soundbar system is that the stereo satellite speakers may be placed anywhere in the room. This means that users are then not only able to put the speakers in a visually discreet location but they are also able to perfectly adapt the depth and breadth of the sound to their personal taste by tilting the boxes. Connecting the system to the television with the included cinch cables is child’s play. The entire system can be set up and made ready for immediate use in just a few simple steps. The new sub/satellite Interior 5000-X1 and 500-X1 systems are based on the preceding Interior Cinema 5001 and 501 models. Both active Home Cinema 5.1 systems have been significantly enhanced and improved in the high/midrange. Surround sound enthusiasts will still be impressed by their compact dimensions, elegant appearance and a wide range of potential applications.But more important than this is the sound quality. This clear priority has not changed for the new 2012 edition. The 2-way technology, i.e. a separate bass-midrange speaker and tweeter, is still a common feature shared by all of the range. For the new 5000-X1 and 500-X1 systems however, both driver types have been technically improved to achieve an extremely harmonic transition across the critical mid/treble range. The systems therefore offer a perfectly seamless transition between mid and high, which plays such a key role in a believable home cinema experience. The new Interior Cinema systems are ideally suited for the contrasting demands of highly intelligible speech, precise location of effects and the emotional impact of soundtracks.The cones are manufactured from coated, longfibre paper. The crossover networks used are both level and phase-optimised. The solid panels manufactured from fibre-reinforced ABS, are rigidly screwed together. All of the satellite and centre speakers are equipped with a precisely calculated bass reflex port to ensure pressure equalisation behind the main driver and extend the lower frequency response. Active subwoofers, i.e. subwoofers equipped with an inbuilt amplifier and bass reflex loaded drive unit, are used to reproduce the lowest notes. The drivers used are again of a long-throw design with steel chassis and stiffened paper cones. The amplifiers have been accurately matched to the cabinets & drivers with regard to power and configuration. The enclosures for the subwoofers are manufactured from substantial MDF panels and stand on solid rubber feet to limit energy transfer into resonant floors. The flagship is the Magnat Interior 5000-X1 system. This comprises 4 satellites, a dedicated centre speaker and a subwoofer with a 200 mm driver. All of the enclosures for the satellite and centre speakers, as well as the solid front panel of the subwoofer, are finished in a highgloss piano black or piano white. The speakers are supplied with five bases for shelf installation which can be used to adjust the vertical angle of the speakers, as well as five wall mounting brackets that allow for individual horizontal adjustment when the speakers are used in this way. The Magnat Interior 500-X1 system has also been designed for 5.1 home cinema use. It has the same centre and satellite configuration as the 5000-X1 system and it is available in a Black Silk finish. The subwoofer is very compact and is equipped with a 175 mm driver. Three shelf mounting bases and two wall mounting brackets are included with the package.

Aluminium is a material that has always exuded that certain „cool touch“, regardless of its form. As cladding for a skyscraper or the outer skin of a race car, Magnat’s Needle Alu Super range proves that, apart from looking great, aluminium can also sound extremely good. The loudspeaker enclosures are made from thick-walled continuous-cast aluminium and accommodate up to four 70 mm woofers/subwoofers and one 13 mm PC tweeter dome each. The low midrange drivers operate with specially hardened cellulose cones and low-distortion suspension, which prevents the cone from wobbling at high volumes. That can be quite a lot – 90 dB measured according to the DIN standard (1 watt/meter) is certainly enough for a party. However, if it does get a bit too lively sometimes, the elaborate crossover will prevent damage to the loudspeaker units. To guarantee optimum performance when employed as a front tower, a centre or indeed a satellite for home cinema use, all the loudspeakers are magnetically screened.
