Technology
Domes made from precision fabric are employed in the Quantum 1000 and 800 series. These domes have been hand-coated with ceramic particles and possess a double ventilation feature to ensure perfectly symmetrical movement while a particularly wide surround has been employed to optimize dispersion at frequencies exceeding 20 kHz.
HRH
(2nd)
The abbreviation stands for "Harmonic Radiation Horn" which describes the acoustic function of the tweeter’s profile. Thanks to its special shape; initially simulated on a computer and then optimised through numerous measurement and listening tests, its dispersion properties perfectly match those of the bass/midrange driver. This technology ensures a particularly smooth transition in the critical upper mid-range which is where the integration between the cone driver and dome tweeter occurs.
The F-MAX Super Audio tweeter, which is equipped with an artificial silk dome, has a specially sculpted tweeter flange that optimises horizontal and vertical radiation and reduces interference from edge reflections. The combination of the powerful magnet and a ferro-fluid cooled voice coil results in a particularly transparent reproduction of the high frequencies, which in turn allows for the placement of highly realistic images within the 3 dimensional space captured in a recording.
ADVANCED Dynamics Driver The ceramic/aluminium cone with a newly developed profile has been housed inside a ventilated, lowresonance, die-cast aluminium basket. The driver features shorting rings and its stray field has been optimized. The cone behaves as a piston at lower frequency ranges and as a controlled wave projector towards the crossover point giving perfect transmission of both the bass and mid-range information.
The FE Dynamics subwoofer and mid-range drivers carrying a very stiff & light aluminium/ceramic cone or lightweight, specially coated paper cones (PC) while the non-magnetic baskets made from fibre-reinforced ABS or aluminium die-cast have been optimised for maximum driver excursion. The finite element method was used to development the magnetic circuits. Large openings in the basket along with voice-coil ventilation ensure high thermal resilience. All of these measures result in a sound which combines exemplary bass power with a natural sounding midrange.
We recommend Oehlbach cable and Accessoires.
Coil Ventilation System: the integrated moving coil ventilation increases the thermal load capacity, thus ensuring precise sound reproduction, even at high loads.
Long-throw driver = bass loudspeaker with extended stroke for maximum pulsivity. Clear reproduction is also ensured at extreme levels.
CERAMIC Light ceramic – aluminium cone with Ceramic extreme stability and high Aluminium internal damping. Ceramic
APOC = Amplitude and Phase Optimized Crossover: the amplitude and phase-optimised frequency crossover is responsible for discoloration-free and real-time reproduction. Phase

0° SPL W frequency response T frequency response Overall frequency response
frequency linear phase non-linear phase
CFC – Controlled Flexing Cone This new cone geometry and its controlled projection of mid–frequency wave fronts has greatly improved the overall bandwidth capabilities of these drivers.
QUANTUM 903 Regallautsprecher AirFlex port = elimination of disturbing wind noises through the use of computer-optimised, aerodynamic bass-reflex pipes.
‘downfire’ System = technique used in enclosed subwoofers whereby the bass chassis emits in a downward direction. Mid-tone content is minimised and bass content accentuated. The use of spikes also ensures optimum acoustic transmission.
Linearisation and Protection Circuit = active filter for frequency response linearisation and protection against subsonic frequencies in active subwoofers. Real Time Limiter = control loop for minimising distortions at very high levels. Also provides protection against thermal and mechanical overloading. Loudspeaker connecting terminal with four connection points for separate control of the subwoofer and woofer/tweeter units.
