The Sky’s The Limit with Surrey’s Thoracic Team Surrey’s Thoracic Surgery Program is the largest Thoracic program in British Columbia. Patients from throughout the Fraser Valley and increasingly from all parts of the province come to Surrey for specialized surgeries to treat lung cancer, esophageal cancer, chest trauma/rib fractures, and many other chest conditions. Surrey’s Lung surgeons have the best results in the world. They are also the leaders in North America when it comes to minimally invasive surgeries. On average other major lung centres perform only 40% of their lung resections using keyhole surgery. Surrey’s rate is a staggering 90%.
Our Goal: $2,000,000 Supporting Celebration of Care will help establish Surrey as a nationally renowned centre for advance minimally invasive thoracic surgery (MIS). Our Thoracic Surgery Team is already recognized globally as leaders in MIS. With your help we will be able to provide them with the tools and equipment needed to develop and research new approaches to MIS and beyond. Not only are they pioneering new ways to repair broken ribs, remove tumours and diagnose cancer faster, they are also participating in international research studies that will impact the future treatment of lung cancer. With your support the sky is the limit for this talented group of surgeons working to ensure that BC patients get world class care.
Two million will bring new lung surgery to British Columbia.
Our Celebration of Care. You are invited to join us for an extraordinary evening, featuring exquisite cuisine, first class entertainment, dancing and all the glamour that flying used to be. Hosted at Boundary Bay Airport’s newest hangar, be prepared for an elegant and sensationally exquisite night. The Sky is the Limit.
