critical examination Understanding God’s Word is foundational

Instructions, obedience, then the blessing! James 4:7

James Introduction

The book of James is written to the twelve scattered tribes. Commentaries suggest James the brother of Jesus is the author but the text does not clearly state this. (James 1:1)

Original audience

James wrote to Jewish believers before the church became more predominantly Gentile and before the Pauline writings overshadowed James letter in church usage. (Biblegateway.com)

Context

James wrote to believers who were dealing with major trouble. Christianity was not readily accepted by society. Act 8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. James, inspired by the Holy Spirit, wrote to encourage believers to be strong in the face of danger. He gave life principles to help believers concerning wisdom, faith, patience and endurance. In the midst of such a dangerous society God gives life principles to His people.

Jas 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Amidst the external fight the church experienced internal frustrations and James had to let them know the battle is with forces not people. Submission to God and a constant resistance of the enemy would be vital to their sanctification.

How does this text apply to us today?

James’ writings are very applicable today. There are many forces that try the believer but we must remember that the enemy is not flesh and blood. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We can’t forget the details. We have to listen and understand the war we are in. Obedience is futile because the blessing is tied to it. Submission takes on passivity but resist takes an aggressive approach. When the enemy is trying you, look in the Word to come against Him. The Word is the weapon we are authorized to use. After we have this perspective then the blessing can come.

G436 anthistēmi to stand against or oppose Our strategy is to use the word of God against the enemy. Jesus gave us that pattern in Luke 4 when He said, “It is written.” Written speaks of established. You’ve got to use what is already established against that old serpent.

The believer will reap the benefit of obeying God’s word. This does not mean the enemy will not bring something else or try the same thing. When he comes against you, use the most effective weapon which is the Word of God. Resources http://biblegateway.com

Convenient? Or Unstoppable?

Donna Renay Patrick Some years ago I wrote an article called Praising God With the Wrong Spirit. One of the goals in writing that article was to encourage believers to offer up to God an “all that is within me“ praise. Attempting to praise God with the wrong spirit will rob you of your blessing, your deliverance, and ultimately, the intimacy with God that He so longs to have with His children. But what does it mean to have a “wrong spirit” in your attempts to praise God? Having the wrong spirit means (a) it’s all about you, (b) you are somehow entitled to God’s goodness and the benefits of being saved by grace, and (c)

your talent and gifting somehow give you a free pass into God’s presence. My God, help us!! In today’s society many of us attend service each Sunday in beautiful, extremely large church buildings – some sitting on pristine pieces of real estate, with padded pews, wall to wall carpet, state of the art technology, top of the line musical instruments, expertly-trained multivoice choirs, internationally recognized pastors, and church staffs numbering in the hundreds. I am not suggesting that there is anything wrong with having large buildings in which to worship. When we gather to worship God in spirit and in truth as the scripture teaches (John 4:24), He will meet us whether the membership is 10 or 10,000; be it located on a multi-acre stretch of land, or in a small white frame building at the edge of a dirt road. It is sometimes in the poshness of our buildings that we may engage in “convenient” worship - halfhearted worship if you will, because we sit on a large piece of property with a budget in the millions. No worries. We have charged the praise team to do our worshiping for us. Even in our personal life, perhaps there are no problems to speak of. All the bills are paid, there is plenty of food in the kitchen, we boast of perfect children, happy marriages, all three cars are running fine, there’s plenty of money in the bank, and we haven’t positioned ourselves to wait on God for anything. All of our human relationships are going well, and somehow we think we’ve been able to dodge enemy attack with an occasional “ee tah tah” or by quoting the only scripture some of us know: “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want”. Convenient worship means not

acknowledging God in all of His holiness - it means not humbling ourselves before His presence in complete submission to His great majesty (Nehemiah 8:6). We have bowed neither our hearts nor our bodies before Him in true love and adoration. Because, it appears, all is well. But enter the serious worshiper - that troubled, contrite, broken believer who finds it decidedly inconvenient to worship, but does so anyway. That person’s worship is unstoppable because in spite of the crisis he or she is currently facing, the deep, intense love relationship with the Lord that governs their life dictates that they bow low in worship even through inward pain (Psalm 73:26). With one hand they wipe free-flowing tears while the other hand is lifted toward heaven in an expression of worship to the Fountain that never runs dry. You see, life’s bitter storms have a way of draining our mental and emotional resources; so much so that we can no longer rely on our strong will, human wisdom, or resume (I Cor. 3:19a). We have reached a point of utter desperation. It is here that we fully surrender ourselves to God. It is not our own strength anymore. At this point we have emptied ourselves of ourselves, reached the end of our personal coping mechanisms, and been readied to be filled with divine resources. Life’s problems have a way of forcing us to hone our introspective interrogation skills. In other words, when life throws us a curve ball, and if the ball comes fast and furious enough, we have no choice but to look deep within ourselves for answers. And after searching inside ourselves we discover that the answers are not found in our self-confrontation, but can only be

found in God. It is here we learn about worship in spirit and in truth. Real worship the way God intended will expose our inner selves; that part of me that only God and I know about; that part that I dare not share with anyone else because I don’t want people to know my inner struggles. There are some things that only you and God need know about! It is by reason of this type of divine exposure that some people shy away from worship; public or private. They don’t shy away from church, mind you, just from worship. But these are ideal opportunities to be introduced, or reintroduced to an unstoppable, undeniable worship encounter unto almighty God. It is an opportunity to be filled with power that we may not have known had we not experienced opposition. Opposition has a way of putting feet to our faith and injecting a warrior’s passion into our worship. The person whose worship is unstoppable will embrace the move of God during times of worship.

The unstoppable worshiper tends to ignore what some of us consider “proper” behavior in the worship experience. This is the person who will just let the tears fall while both hands are lifted. For example, the sister who is so committed to the worship of the God she loves that the time she took earlier applying her makeup is of no consequence. The brother who understands that his love for God is the true source of his strength, has now broken a sweat, as he has so given himself to worship. Both are so caught up in the awesome majesty of God that they are consumed by His manifest presence, which is the true goal of all sincere worship. Since true worship is a matter of the heart, it behooves all believers to closely examine our personal worship on both the public and private level. Ask yourself, “Is my worship convenient or unstoppable?”

Mental Health: It’s a Mind & Body Connection Evangelist Carmella Hill

Evangelist Carmella Hill, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervising credentials (P.C.C.-S). & Founder of Empower to H.O.P.E. Services, LLC.

Common mental health issues and disorders that people experience are depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, and substance use disorders. These common issues often have a cognitive, emotional, and behavioral component to them. The degree to which each component is impacted depends on the severity of the issue. For example, someone experiencing depression may have some degree of anxiety or nervousness but someone diagnosed with an Anxiety Disorder or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder may experience anxiety that is severe, debilitating, and significantly impact a person’s functioning. It should be noted that although many may experience mental health issues, not everyone’s experiences are clinically diagnosable according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).

Have you ever thought, “Why do I behave and think this way?” There is a direct correlation and connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in understanding our experiences in life. Often times, it is easier to address a particular behavior but challenging to address the origin of the behavior. Like with medical health, some medications can address symptoms (i.e., behaviors) but the root cause (i.e., emotions, thoughts) needs addressed with exploratory surgery. Likewise, with mental health, some exploratory surgery is needed to help understand and address the root cause of behaviors that are demonstrated in our lives.

The scripture encourages the need to be aware of our health just like we are aware of our souls. In the King James Version, 3rd book of John, chapter 1 and verse 2, it states, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Health is being viewed from a broad perspective to include not only medical health but also, mental, emotional, financial, relational/social, educational/career health. We are out of balance when we only focus on the soul or the spiritual side of us and neglect the rest of our being.

The thoughts, emotions & behaviors connection Let’s discuss how the above mentioned mental health issues manifest in people’s lives. As we experience various situations in our lives, there is an impact on our body, mind, emotions, and behaviors. The ability to cope (or not) with life’s experiences will determine the degree of the impact. When experiencing things that are negative, adverse, or traumatic, mental health issues may result. The impact of the mental health issues can be manifested in multiple ways.

Mind signals

Our minds may respond to negative experiences by reflecting worry, doubt, impaired judgment, and faulty thinking. It is easy to assume

Continued from the bottom of the page

that someone else is at fault for the way we think. However, it is helpful, yet challenging to engage in selfexploration to determine the root or core of the negative thinking patterns. When the roots are pulled up, the likelihood of the branches growing back are slim. In essence, the sooner we can unravel the negative thinking patterns, the better the outcome will be at identifying issues. When experiencing depression and anxiety, feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness, and sadness may be indicators for clinical depression and anxiety. Personality indifferences that result from faulty thinking patterns can impact how a person perceives and interacts with the world around them. An old adage in the mental health profession, “perception is reality” seems to hold weight in people’s lives when having personality issues. Often what one perceives is what one believes to be “true” despite contradictory information. Rapid and rambling speech which may be reflective of racing thoughts, feeling exhilaration and excess confidence, intense urge and focus on getting a substance could all be reflective of having a substance use disorder.

attempts, changes in appetite and sleeping, to name a few. When engaging in substance use, illegal drugs (i.e., marijuana) or legal drugs (i.e., prescription medications, alcohol), some signals in the body could be withdrawal symptoms (i.e., flu like symptoms, vomiting, sweating, chills, shaking, tremors). When we do not deal with signals from our bodies, it may result in an issue being prolonged and possibly a premature death. Behaviorally, engaging in risky behaviors, loss of motivation, not caring for one’s Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) (i.e., grooming, bathing) may be red flags that something is going on. After experiencing a trauma, symptoms such as being hypervigilant, displaying extreme paranoia, and demonstrating a sense of alarm in responding, may be indicators of a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is better to rule out an issue than to ignore it resulting in a worsening condition.

Emotional signals

We may respond emotionally to negative experiences by demonstrating severe sadness, irritability, and apathy. When we are unsuccessful at admitting we have emotions, this can be unhealthy and lead to behaviors that harm others. When we decline to express our feelings, this can be unhealthy and lead to an eruption later in our lives. When we fail to pay attention to our feelings, this can be unhealthy and lead to emotions becoming entrenched in us. Often people say, “This is how I am.” When in actuality, it is not how they are; it is how they have become, over time, because of various experiences and lack of dealing with things effectively. These things become so engrained and deeply rooted in us to the point that we cannot distinguish between what is healthy verses unhealthy ways of being.

Behavioral signals

Our bodies may respond to negative experiences in our lives with physical symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and tension. One would think getting some rest or taking an over the counter medication may take care of the matter. However, if the symptoms persist for longer durations and increase with intensity, something more may be going on than initially thought. More specifically, when experiencing depression or anxiety, some signals in the body are psychomotor agitation, delayed responses, engaging in self-injurious behaviors or suicidal

Mental Health Tips:

• Do not ignore the warning signals reflected in thoughts, feelings, and actions • Reach out for help (mental, medical, spiritual, etc.) • Identify triggers that could lead to an increase in mental health issues • Increase coping skills and strategies to help minimize the negative impact of experiences • Let go of things • Forgive and love often

Conclusion

Overall, the mind, emotional and behavioral signals alert us that something is going on within us, “good” or “bad.” There is a significant connection between these components of our bodies that cannot be ignored. Ignoring or minimizing the signals can result in things being out of control in our lives that may be beyond repair. It is time to control what we can which is half the battle. It is believed that the body is designed to alert us before we self-destruct, but are we listening to it when it speaks. SELAH

The Talk Table When Critical Things Need to be Said James 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. In the May issue of Kingdom Christian Magazine, I spoke of how my husband and I had a series of less than ideal dates nights until a lovely woman heard my tales of woe and pointed out to me that my date nights sounded more like board meetings. I tried hard to self-correct and keep date nights as a time for fun, recreation, relaxation, and reconnection. However, I realized that in order to run a successful and Godly family, there had to be that occasional board meeting. The two problems I faced the most often were that when we talked at the couch, one of us would be distracted by the TV and when we talked at dinner, the subject matter (lack of finances, little arguments, scheduling the kids activities and such) could be a real downer at what should be a relaxing and enjoyable family time. My brilliant plan? The talk table. What is a talk table? For us it is a small, wooden TV tray that can be put up and taken down to be stored away in a moment. When I drag out the TV tray and place 2 chairs opposite of each other, Jimmie knows it is time to talk. I chose this tiny table with a purpose. When you are facing each other at a tiny table, you are forced to have a face to face, heart to heart and soul to soul communication. As I am the talker in the family, (shocker, right?) I will usually lead with what is a concern for me. It may be something simple like wanting to go over the weekly schedule and see who is picking up which kid from which activity, or it could be deep like I was cleaning and I found an inappropriate magazine, or the property tax bill came and we

HEALTHY MARRIAGE were a bit short. No matter what the subject, the talk table is sacred for open communication and for finding solutions. That being said, do not always expect the communication to be equal. Men and women are wired differently and often marriage counselors and therapists go out of their way to get the couples to communicate on a 50-50% basis. That will never happen. That’s ok. Women will tend to communicate more but never assume the man is not listening and taking it all in. Men hear more than we give them credit for, and most men really do want to make their wife happy. When subjects are sensitive (like finances, health or sex) be tactful when sharing your feelings. Telling your husband that you don’t like a particular way he makes love to you or telling your wife that her weight gain has you concerned for her health are paramount to a healthy elationship, but blurted out in a callous way can cause more harm than good. Always check yourself to see is you sound judgemental or preachy. That simply will not go over well. Do you pray before taking a test or giving a speech? Do you pray when your paycheck did not stretch far enough? Praying before going to the talk table is just as important. A

quick prayer may sound something like this: “Lord, give me the right words to discuss this sensitive issue with my man, with no anger or judgment. Let the words and the solutions we come up with be a blessing to our marriage.” If your mate is a believer too, hold hands and pray together before presenting your concerns. Always finish with a kiss and an understanding that marriages are worth the effort. Don’t forget to put the table away! Ephesians 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will all grow up into him who is the Head, that is Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

How did SPAN Ministries begin?

W e began the ministry in 2000. I want to Kent State

University and when I was there I did a lot of ministry. I was teaching Bible study and began a choir. It was there that God really gave me a heart for ministry. As soon as I graduated we started a church. Me and Dr. Yvonne, who was my fiancé at the 4 time, who is my wife now. Started a church on Kent’s campus. It was the both of us and a few friends. We eventually got a building in downtown Kent and now we have this building that we have been in for 14 years. We now have 2 campuses with a lot of different ministry going on. This summer we have the Arise football and cheerleading camp that we have every year. About 250 kids come to the summer camp.

In the Fall we have Dark Destiny as well. It’s a haunted house alternative where you take someone through a life’s story and at the end of it you see if that person’s life got them into heaven or into hell. That’s a huge event we do every year on Halloween weekend. One of our biggest ministries is our college ministry. We’re still connected to Kent State University and touching the lives of students there. I really praise God for what He has done. For all the lives He’s allowed us to touch. As the Senior Pastor how have you seen God transition you for the beginning till now?

I

t’s been a lot of transitions. When I first began I really didn’t know a lot. I was stepping out on faith. No money and no real backing from anyone else. It was a step of faith. I have mentors who mentored me and God has really been faithful through it all. The biggest transition was coming to learn what it was that God was calling me to do. When you first start in ministry you think; start a church, get some people together, let ‘s grow, let’s grow and grow some more. That’s good but I had to learn what my calling was and really pay attention to what God wanted me to do. That’s when I really started to see God shift the ministry into a direction that I couldn’t see or fathom. This past fall we launched our 2nd campus and that was nowhere in my original plans and ideas. Being open and paying attention to how God organically does ministry through His servants really blessed me.

istries Pastor Bryndon Glass Dr. Yvonne Glass Another thing is in my relationships. God has blessed me to be around some amazing people who are very supportive. I’m under Bishop F.J. Johnson, The House of the Lord in Akron. His mentoring and pouring How is Span making a difference? This is a good question because if we are not making a difference in people’s lives than we are just doing ministry to satisfy our own goals and ambition. SPAN is a ministry that I never wanted to look at as a means to my own ends. One of the main things we focus on at SPAN Ministries is love. Showing people love is the key. When I would talk to new members and ask them what drew them to SPAN they would say the love they felt. Our goal here at SPAN Ministries is to make it so people feel loved and apart of the connected Kingdom of God. Live a

victorious

life

There are times in our lives that we have gone through trying to find the power within us. Whether it’s been in the home, in the workplace, in society, or in the political world. We have made enormous strides in some if not all of these areas yet you may still feel you have a ways to go. The enemy of your soul likes to torment you by making you feel like a failure. And though we know he’s the father of lies somehow we believe that lie. Before you know it you’re depressed and feeling defeated. But you do not have to feel that way. To walk in victory there are somethings that you need to do on a daily basis. The Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The problem is we are so busy with our everyday lives that it makes it a little hard to do. But just like we make time to do all the many things we do we have to make time for these things that I believe will empower you/ us to live not just an abundant life but life MORE abundantly.

PRAYER

Colossians 4:2 says pray diligently; Ephesians 6:18 in the MSG says Prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare, in other words prayer is a weapon.

PRAISE & WORSHIP

Approximately 250 times we are commanded to praise God Psalm 150:2 says Praise Him for His mighty acts Isaiah 25:1 says I will praise Your name for you have done wonderful Praise speaks of what God has done His attributes Worship talks about who He is. Worship is for God alone it’s an attitude of the heart. You can go 40 days with no food 3 days without water but you can’t go a day without praising & worshiping God.

Posture

James 1:22 says be doers of the Word not hearers only You have to put yourself in a place of posture to work the Word the Word works when you work it.

Positioning

This means take a posture of expectation & confidence 2 Chronicles 20:17 tells the story of how it didn’t look good for the Isrealites the odds were stacked against them they sought the Lord as to what to do. He said position yourselves stand still and see the salvation of God.

She states, “At that time; although I was excited about my new life, I didn’t quite understand the seriousness of my relationship with Christ or the effects He would have on me or my future. I didn’t realize at that time I was so loved by God, no matter what my deficiencies were socially, economically or characteristically, he still loved and cared for me. I didn’t realize that I was not born into the earth by happenstance but that my life was purposed by God from the beginning of time. I had no idea at that time I was chosen!” Minister Lashon’s passion for the Lord and his people became quite apparent and is duly noted as she delivers the Word of Truth, in love with

Coming from a place of knowing, Minster LaShon has had her own set of obstacles and challenges. Living through an abusive marriage, and raising 5 children has taught her that through God, all things are possible. “Being the mother of 5 children, working an 8 hour job, having responsibilities in the church, while struggling in a mentally abusive marriage, “dysfunction” became my norm as I was dressed daily out of baggage cultivated from a wounded place. I wore fear and confusion like a cloak; the spirit of rejection had been my companion since childhood. It stuck with me through early adulthood which lead to unhealthy behavior patterns…BUT one day God saw me…he saw my struggles…and God rescued me!” “What do you do when you’ve prayed… how do you not lose your sanity or even come close to losing it when you’re living in a constant state of fear? Although I knew God was there; there was no earthly help. Many couldn’t understand my struggle, therefore they had no words of wisdom to offer, no life-changing advice to help lift me out of the emotional and spiritual pit I had fallen in. It’s just not enough to say to a hurting person “pray, give it to the Lord, hang in there”. People need… I needed more than someone giving canned meant-well responses as I was merely existing in a very low place; in desperate need of help. At its peak, this went on for years as I didn’t know at what point my healing would be manifested but in the interim I knew that what I needed was someone to speak into my life with understanding. However, when it comes to the things of the God, that’s a different story… Minster LaShon was saved and baptized under the leadership of Pastor Abraham Wright at the age of 18 in April 1986 at Greater New Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland Ohio. I had no idea at that time I was chosen!” Minister Lashon’s passion for the Lord and his people became quite apparent and is duly noted as she delivers the Word of Truth, in love with an undeniable fervency and

transparency, meant to break the shackles of despair and hopelessness off the lives of God’s people especially women and the negative situations and circumstances they may find themselves in. It stuck with me through early adulthood which lead to unhealthy behavior patterns…BUT one day God saw me…he saw my struggles…and God rescued me!” “What do you do when you’ve prayed…how do you not lose your sanity or even come close to losing it when you’re living in a constant state of fear? Although I knew God was there; there was no earthly help. Many couldn’t understand my struggle, therefore they had no words of wisdom to offer, no life-changing advice to help lift me out of the emotional and spiritual pit I had fallen in. It’s just not enough to say to a hurting person “pray, give it to the Lord, hang in there”. People need… I needed more than someone giving canned meant-well responses as I was merely existing in a very

BeautyTips How to shape your eyebrows

The angles of your face are highlighted by your eyebrows. You can narrow the facial structure, broaden it or lift the eyes by working on your eyebrows. You can frame your eyes perfectly and tone down or underline the eye makeup with the right eyebrow shape. Perfectly shaped eyebrows bring balance to your face and add symmetry to all of its features. Using the Golden Ratio The golden ratio is a number that depicts the perfect proportion that is most pleasing to the human eye. Anastasia Soare, beauty ‘innovator’, was perhaps the first person to apply this number to the techniques of eyebrow shaping. Anastasia has created the perfect look for innumerable celebrities and has transformed asymmetrical and sparse eyebrows into the most stunningly attractive facial features. Anastasia’s trademarked Golden ratio technique brings about balance in your face using the eyebrows as the starting point. You too can use this ratio to determine the shape that will set off your facial features in the best possible way. This is how to do it:  A: Draw an imaginary line from the outside corner of your nose upwards towards the inside corner of your eye. Your eyebrow should end where it meets this line.  B: Draw another imaginary line from the tip of your nose crossing the pupil of your eye diagonally. The point where this line cuts the eyebrow is the perfect position for the arch.  C: Draw an imaginary line from the bottom of your nose to the outer corner of your eye and beyond. This is where your eyebrow should end.

“You Shall Recover!” Minister Jucinta Jones

O

ver the past few weeks, God has been dealing with me about the importance of recovering from emotional pain. In fact, I recently taught a workshop on the very topic, and I feel led of the Lord to share this word with all of you awesome readers. Many of you have been wounded as a result of your past mistakes, life experiences, and even in the House of God. These experiences have been traumatic for many of you and has produced things like the spirit of bitterness, unforgiveness, isolation, depression and fear in your lives. It’s because of these things that God is saying that, “You shall recover!” He’s aware of the things that have transpired in your life and caused you to struggle with trusting, but the

word of the Lord this month is that it’s time to allow Him into those places of pain. Psalm 147:3 nkjv says,”He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” God wants to heal you of the wounds that have caused your spiritual growth to become stagnant. Therefore, it’s time to allow Him into those places that you’ve deemed untouchable. It’s time to allow Him to not only make you well, but to make you whole because it’s the will of God for you to be a whole woman or man of God.

by surrendering unto Him, staying in a place of prayer and consecration and even seeking Christian counseling if necessary. Remember that there’s nothing too hard for God, so allow Him to mend your broken heart, wipe away those silent tears and walk in the liberty that He supplies. Although you’ve been wounded for a long time I decree and declare to you people of God that, “YOU SHALL RECOVER!”

Therefore, I encourage you this month to receive the inner healing that God has for you

One of the most popular bible scriptures goes like this “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to

them”

(Matthew 7:21) this is what we call the GOLDEN RULE. When we take a look at this particular Jesus was telling us to LOVE OUR ENEMIES. We must Love one another no matter what. You will never be able to move one with your life if you continue to hold on to your past. I come across so many people we refuse to forgive simply because of what the other has done to them. When you don’t forgive you hold yourself hostage. Forgiveness is not for the other person it’s for you. While your busy holding on the pains of what someone has done to you that person is living there life not thinking about you. When we learn how to forgive we can began to love again. The word UN-FORGIVENESS simply means a grudge against someone who has offended you. A lot of times we allow ourselves to hold on to things we should have been let go of. Unforgiveness will

cause you to think and do evil things. Forgiving people who have done us wrong is something that a lot of struggle with. When someone does you wrong don’t try and get back at them just smile and forgive them. It’s very important that we don’t allow anyone and anything stop us from going FORWARD. Holding on to past will cause you to go backwards and not forward. Paul said I’m forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before (Philippians 3:13) Forgiveness is just simply letting go of what has controlled you. You must continue to press FORWARD. Don’t allow anyone to distract you from the goal. Forgiveness isn’t easy there is pain and bitterness attached to it, but on the other side of pain there is purpose, joy, peace, and love. I urge you my brothers and sisters to let go of everything that is holding you back from your God given purpose. Let go of your past and

keep on pressing. Everything that that we have been through happened for a reason! FORGIVE AND LET IT GO !!!! LOVE YOURSELF ENOUGH NOT TO LET ANYTHING HINDER YOU FROM THE PRIZE! FORGIVE AND LET IT GO, BECAUSE YOUR PAIN HAS PRODUCED YOUR PURPOSE!!!
