Appreciation Day
In February of Term 1, we had Appreciation Day! This was a day to acknowledge and appreciate friends, teachers, and staff. A few activities were included that day: taking photo booth pictures with friends in front of a stand of bright, colourful balloons and people were able to send chocolates to their friends in PCs to acknowledge how much they appreciated them. Even if this wasn’t just your friends and perhaps a teacher, this could have also been a kind gesture as well! Many students enjoyed this day because it was filled with pride, celebration and, of course, grabbing a chocolate heart! - Kaylah Kolliou

Festival Lunch
31/10/23
Our first Year 12 event was so exciting!! It was an awesome way to end our 2023 school year and start our final year of school with our Festival Lunch. Everyone got involved by getting dressed up accordingly in Christmas pyjamas, matching our peers. We all came together to celebrate the incoming holiday season in style, enjoyed delicious seasonal treats and funded and supported our school LIFE ‘Christmas Projects’ of Operation Christmas Child and King’s Community Care hampers. Overall, our 2023 Festival Lunch was one to remember!

In September 2023, a group of ten Year 10 and 11 students had the incredible opportunity to go on a mission trip to Thailand to help out the Rescue Mission for Children. The theme of the trip was being ‘comfortable with the uncomfortable.’ Many of us were able to step out of our comfort zones and experience new things that ultimately blessed us. A challenge we all had to overcome was building connections with the children despite the language barrier. Although it was uncomfortable at times, we were able to overcome it and create beautiful memories with them. Some of us also had the chance to speak a message at the devotions and the church, which was nerve wracking, but forced us to step away from what we’re used to. We are so grateful for how God moved on this trip. Although the goal was to give to the children, we were equally as blessed. It was a life changing experience that taught us a lot and challenged our perspectives. - Mia Ryan

2024’s Roma Mission trip will forever have our hearts! Every moment was filled with an opportunity to step out and do something new. Whether that be playing in the worship band, working in the gardens, organizing the churches' events, decorating foyers or meal prepping with Meg. We all had a role to play, for some of us, that role was simply comedic relief. What I loved most was that there was never a dull moment! Every day was occupied with an event or gathering of some sort to get ready for. It may have just been the combination of long bus rides mixed with the brutal mosquitos, but I really feel that this trip really bonded us together as a group. Frisbee, the cattle farm, walking through town, stargazing, getting pied, the Big Rig, Mr Miles’s bus commentary, painting tables, water balloon fights, the infamous camcorder, the bonfire, all things we’ll never forget about our trip to Roma in 2024. - Emily Muller

Hillsong Conference
08-12/07
Hillsong Conference was an amazing experience that helped foster a sense of God-driven unity within our cohort. Although our days at the conference were jam packed with incredible messages and hours of praise and worship, my highlight was the bus rides where our group were able to bond and connect in a special way. Whether that was sharing notes from sermons or collectively singing to Bruno Mars songs, God moved within our friendships and allowed us to embody the conference theme of ‘always joy’. Personally, the bus ride to our accommodation on night three was a moment I’ll forever remember as I was given the opportunity to share my first ever mini-preach/devotional. I shared a message God had placed on my heart throughout the conference which allowed me to explore my passion for Him on a deeper level. But every student had an encounter with Him which is what made Hillsong Conference all the more special.

School Production
26-27/04/2024
2024 left us ‘lost in the eyes’ of the masterpiece Back To The ’80s. You may have seen it ‘on the wireless back in ‘52.’ Productions have been a part of my high school years at King's, and it has been an experience that I will always look back on with fond memories. I can't say I've ever seen the auditorium stage so full of colour; it created a very ‘material world’ for the cast of more than 100. Rehearsals were ‘a little old place where we can get together' and really allowed the ‘glory of love’ to shine through every aspect of our performance... we really ‘live for the music-go-round’ just like ‘kids in America do.’ The rehearsal process was daunting at times and left us thinking we were ‘gonna be 500 miles’ until success, however, we ‘kicked off our Sunday shoes’ and together, actors, musicians, dancers, directors, and backstage crew gave you a show worthy of a ‘total eclipse of the heart.’ Not only did the ‘girls just want to have fun,’ but the boys showed us that they had some ambition for the limelight... 'let's hear it for boys!’ Overall, the whole experience left me ‘walking on sunshine’ and I’m sure I can speak for everyone when I say we had the ‘time of our lives...’ ;) - Alisha Holmes

This year our school camp was different to how it was normally run. Being our final year and having spent the past six years with our teachers, the experience was much more familiar and relaxed with both our teachers and activities. One of the activities I was very grateful was put on was our oldie’s night. It gave us as students a time to imitate and impersonate many of our...experienced teachers. It was also an opportunity for us as a grade to see each other in a much more casual setting. A chance to hang out, play bingo and hit each other with walking canes. A genuinely enjoyable experience. - Nicholas Boler

Year 7/12 Afternoon
09/02
The Year 7 and 12 afternoon was such a great bonding experience between the two grades, especially right at the start of the year creating a necessary connection. We started off the afternoon with some snacks, and then we split up into boys and girls. The boys went off to their house groups to go play some ultimate frisbee. There was a tournament and sadly despite Finney’s best efforts, Tyndale won the ultimate frisbee competition using teamwork from both the seniors and the Year 7’s. The girls meanwhile were having a laser tag fight all around the high school. We swapped after some time and the boys were on for laser tag. Everyone had a blast, some teamed up and shot anyone who ran past. As we were running past we could see the girls doing some arts and crafts. We all joined back up at the Hub for a sausage sizzle, we sat down and had a Q&A for the year 7’s to ask us Year 12’s all the questions about the high school experience. - Liam Davey

Congratulations Year 12 Class of 2024! You’ve leveled up and completed your epic quest of high school. You’ve totally slayed it! Now, it’s time to glow up and show the world you’re sigma! FR FR Keep flexing your awesomeness and remember, you’ve got this! #LevelUp #ontonext In eEnglish..... all the best for the future Year 12, y’all have been amazing bunch, don’t forget your roots and keep looking to Jesus in all you do. He is your True North. Prov 3:6.

It has been an interesting year with both my Year 12 classes, I have thoroughly enjoyed navigating this challenge with you. I pray richest blessings over each and everyone. I will certainly miss my amazing PC students, Tikaia, Micka and Isaiah. To my ‘favourite’ Geography class, your drive and willingness to improve with each assessment task has been a blessing to me, I wish you all the very best and pray you will continue to pursue Geography in some way, whether it is through travel or job opportunities, the world is your oyster. To my Christian Studies students, thank you for your honesty and faithfulness, you are an inspiration.
- Mrs Searles
Dear Year 12 Graduates of King’s Christian College 2024, Congratulations! You’ve made it to this incredible milestone—your graduation from high school! This is a moment of great celebration, a time to reflect on your journey so far, and an opportunity to look forward with excitement and hope. Although I’ve only got to know you in this last little part of your school journey, I wanted to share some Dad, as you step into this next chapter of your life, here are a few guiding thoughts to consider:
1 Be Led by Your Convictions: In a world full of noise and opinions, it’s essential to listen to that still, small voice inside you. Be true to your values and let your convictions guide your choices. The path you choose should reflect who you truly are, not just what others expect of you.
2 Enjoy the Journey: Life is an adventure, full of twists and turns, highs and lows. Don’t be in such a rush to reach the destination that you forget to enjoy the journey. Celebrate the small victories, learn from the challenges, and find joy in the process of growing and becoming who you’re meant to be.
3 Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: Not everything in life will go according to plan, and that’s okay. Learn to let go of the little things that don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. Focus on what’s important, and don’t let minor setbacks derail your peace and happiness.
4 High School is Not the Peak of Your Life: Though high school was a significant and formative time, it’s just one chapter in the incredible story that is your life. The best is yet to come. Don’t look back with a longing that blinds you to the amazing opportunities ahead. Embrace the future with open arms and an open heart.
5 Seek God and Trust Him: Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” As you move forward, seek God in all you do. Trust that He has a plan for your life, one filled with hope and a future. When you rely on Him, even the most uncertain paths can lead to incredible destinations. Remember, you are stepping out into a world full of possibilities. Take these lessons with you, stay true to who you are, and know that you are equipped to make a difference, Jesus loves you and God has a plan for your life. I’m stoked with all that you’ve accomplished and excited to see the impact you will have on the world. Keep it real and Skibidi Riz Ohio (…whatever that brain rot means). Be blessed and be a blessing.

Just want to give a huge shout out to my Year 12 Finney girl captains – Lily, Charlii, Ciara & Aaliyah. You girls are the best!
- Mrs Lit
Dear Class of 2024 – I am really going to miss you! When I first started working at the school it was in Primary and you were in Prep. I worked with some of you back then in Prep and again in Grades 1 and 2. It feels like I have watched many of you grow up before my eyes. Some of you did your Middle School Art rotation in 2020 when Covid hit. When we were locked down that year, and the next when you had chosen Art as an elective, you still came to school, so I felt a connection with you and enjoyed getting to know you a little bit then. What an historical time to live through and always think back on! It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know many of you and spend time with you. Excursions with your cohort, no matter what year, or where we went, were always a joy and something I looked forward to. I can’t wait to see what you do with your lives. At the risk of sounding like an old lady(!), life really does go by very quickly so make the most of it, and don’t waste your talents. A little piece of advice that I have always said to my own children is “it’s better to be kind than right”. Kindness goes a long way and being mean just to prove a point is so not worth it. People will always remember how you made them feel so be kind. I wish you all the very best for your futures and pray you’ll always know how greatly you are loved by our precious Lord. Please stay in touch and don’t forget to follow the art department on Instagram @kingscollegeart. God bless you abundantly. Love Ms Angus This scripture is one of my favourites. Isaiah 40:28-31 New King James Version “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall. But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
- Mrs Angus
My prayer is for you to hear your Heavenly Father’s voice above all others. Remember, there is no place that compares to His Presence. There is no better time to run into His Arms. I am so grateful to share in a chapter of your journey. God’s goodness and mercy has followed you and will continue to be with you.
- Jesse
I have given you some knowledge. My prayer is that you will have wisdom to apply it in the way that best glorifies God.
- Mr Quarterman
To all the Year 12 graduating students that I have crossed paths with over the last three and a half years - whether it was in sewing or cooking class, helping dress you in the school musicals, or collaborating on an art project, it has been a privilege to watch how you have grown in character and discipline. It has been rewarding (and fun), to have been a part of your journey, and I eagerly look forward to hearing about what new adventures you have experienced on the other side of High School. There are so many of God’s promises that you can lean on in life, but especially when times are tough. Always remember God has a unique and tailor-made plan just for you. Lean into Him, and He will show you what path to take in life. Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” God bless you all.
- Mrs Kelso
Dear Year 12’s, As you wrap up this chapter and embark on the next exciting phase of your journey, I want to wish you all the very best for what lies ahead. Remember, every challenge is an opportunity in disguise, and each step forward takes you closer to your dreams. Stay curious, embrace new opportunities, and believe in your ability to achieve great things. Whatever path you choose, approach it with determination and passion. Know that you have the potential to make a meaningful, lasting impact on the world. Move confidently toward your dreams with an open mind and a heart full of excitement. Seize every opportunity, learn from the challenges, and cherish every moment of this incredible journey. Congratulations on reaching this important milestone! Best of luck on the exhilarating adventure ahead, your unique path is waiting to unfold. Wishing you all success and God’s blessing.
- Mr. K
It feels like just yesterday that I began teaching you in Year 10. What an adventure it has been to guide such a diverse group of personalities! I’ve truly enjoyed every moment and will miss you all dearly. What stands out most to me about this class is your friendliness, your zest for life, and the way many of you carry your love for Jesus so openly. My hopes and dreams for each of you are simple yet profound: may you find joy in the little things, discover true love, cultivate a deep relationship with Jesus, and travel often. After all, travel is the greatest education you can receive. Enjoy life! Love you!
- Mrs Marais
Dear Students, As you step out into the world, remember that your hard work, faith, and dedication have brought you to this moment. Trust in God’s plan for your life, and know that He will guide your steps as you move forward. Keep your hearts open to His love and wisdom, and never forget that with Him, all things are possible. Stay strong, be kind, and continue to shine your light wherever you go! God Bless you all.
- Ms O’Neill
Dear All Year Twelves, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you all on graduating High School. It seems so recent that you were joining the College. It has been a pleasure to walk beside side you all on your educational journey. I wish you all the best in whatever comes next in your lives. Remember to stay in contact with your friends and maintain a strong Church life connection . See you all at the Ten-year reunion! God Bless.

To my amazing Yr 12s! It has been so great to get to know so many of you over the years, whether it was from PC, my Chem and Bio classes or just from the general school life. As you prepare to embark on your next adventure, I wanted to take a moment to express how proud I am of each and every one of you. Your dedication, hard work, and most importantly, growth over the years has been truly encouraging. Seeing you grow into the men and woman God has called you to be, has been an honour. Graduation marks not just the end of a chapter, but the beginning of a new and exciting journey. Remember to embrace the opportunities that come your way and always carry forward the lessons and values you’ve gained here. Though our time together at school is ending, know that you have the support and prayers of all your teachers. We are excited to see all the awesome things you will achieve. Congratulations and farewell, Year 12. The future is yours to shape!
- Mr Alexander
To the class of 2024! Congratulations on graduating from school and making it to the end of Chapter 2. For your information, Chapter 1 was when you were still struggling to tie your shoes and brush your teeth. I’ve loved teaching you all, most throughout Primary to High School. All of you have grown in so many ways not just in height, or your hair (mullets) or even your beards. I pray that you flourish in the years after school and never underestimate your resilience, creativity and purpose. You will face trials but remember those who have gone before you and we are cheering you on and you’re never far from our thoughts. God bless!

Never diminish yourself for the convenience of others. You are fearfully and wonderfully made!
- Mrs O’Connor
Congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone in your journey. As you step into the next chapter of your lives, remember that the future is yours to shape. Embrace who you are and let your unique qualities shine. Don’t feel pressured to conform to societal expectations—be authentic and stay true to your values. As Nelson Mandela once said, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” Aim high, pursue your passions, and always strive to make a positive impact. The world needs your individuality. Keep pushing boundaries and never forget: you have the power to create a meaningful and fulfilling future.

Students - Thank you for being so accepting. It is a privilege being a teacher and getting to have an impact on your lives is such a rewarding way to spend my working days. Thank you for listening to my monologues. If I wasn’t a teacher I would be alone somewhere wishing I had an audience to listen to me ramble. To my Digital Art class, thank you for three years of fun. It has been a great atmosphere in our class and I will miss it and miss you all. I also want to wish my PC students every blessing in their future. PC is a short time together, but I have seen you all grow up in front of my eyes and I am invested in seeing you succeed.
