A Step-by-Step Guide to Joining King’s

COME AND VISIT US

Personal Visits: Join us for a private tour to see our school in action. You will have the opportunity to meet our Head and enjoy a tour of our extensive school campus and facilities. Heads of Departments and staff will be on hand should you have specific queries.

REGISTER

Registration is possible at any point throughout the year, but we recommend you register for a place in September of the year prior to year of entry. The registration form can be found on our online Admissions Portal.

Following registration your child will be invited to spend the day in King’s. Here they will meet future classmates, teachers and see what a typical day is like at King’s.

ASSESSMENT DAYS

11+ pupils will join us for a morning, during which they will take an online CEM assessment in our Computing Rooms followed by a fun activity.

13+ pupils will undertake English and Maths written papers, followed by a fun activity.

16+ assessments are only required for those applying for Bursary / Scholarship Assessment. Offers will be made based on GCSE predicted grades.

Bursaries

We offer a number of bursaries annually including full bursaries at the Senior School and, in exceptional circumstances the Prep Schools. Bursaries are meanstested. Bursaries can also be offered to pupils who might otherwise leave the school because of financial hardship.

Payment of Fees

Fees are charged in advance and, if paid termly, are due on or before the first day of term. Alternatively, fees may, by arrangement, be paid either in monthly instalments by direct debit or by depositing lump sums in advance.

In cases of late payment, the Governors reserve the right to make a surcharge, composed of simple interest calculated at a rate of one percent of the outstanding balance per month.

Sibling Discount

The majority of co-curricular activities are included. A small number may incur a fee.

A reduction in fees (ten percent for a third child, and fifteen percent for a fourth child) is available when three or more siblings are pupils at the school together.

Our school catering is provided by Thomas Franks. They are very well versed in catering for independent education establishments. They are family-owned and run, with over 30 years’ experience in creating delicious and seasonal food which is cooked from scratch using fresh, high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. The healthy menus provided offer a wide choice of options catering for a range of tastes and special diets.

All pupils are assumed to be having school lunches and will be billed accordingly, termly in advance unless the school receives written notice before the start of term.

Getting to King’s

Reaching King’s Worcester couldn’t be easier. The city enjoys well-established road networks and features two railway stations, alongside an extensive daily coach network that seamlessly aligns with the school day.

School Minibus Service

We offer a number of exclusive minibus and coach services to streamline the commuting process for parents and pupils (from Year 3+). These services are provided by our dedicated minibus drivers, our partnered Severn Taxis, or Commandery Coaches. All vehicles are entrusted to qualified and DBS-checked drivers, ensuring a safe and secure journey.

Our school transport app, ‘Student Safe’ enables parents to book and track our transport provision with ease.

River

Worcester Foregate Street station is conveniently located just a short walk via the central pedestrian precinct to the School. Various lines, such as from Malvern, Hereford, Evesham, Cheltenham and Birmingham, offer services that align with the school schedule. Student rail season tickets can be purchased online at:

First and Diamond Bus Company operate a wide array of bus services, extensively covering routes to Worcester city centre. King’s is just a short walk from the Bus Centre.
