Silversmithing for Beginners Pupils will learn the basic silversmithing skills to be able to create some beautiful pieces of jewellery. We will be working with real sterling silver (.925) and projects will include making bangles, pendants, and earrings. Pupils will learn how to use the tools needed to work with silver and will learn how to use the piercing saw, texture hammering, letter stamping and how to file and polish. Open to 4th Form pupils.

Skateboarding and Scootering A fun activity getting the pupils outside and taking part in something that is physical and at times, strenuous. Pupils will have to provide their own skateboard or scooter and a helmet is compulsory. Parental permission will be required to take part in this activity. Art Scholarship Club For invited Scholars and G+T for 3rd and 4th Form with an exciting programme including a series of workshops aimed at developing outcomes (portfolios) and professional practice whilst gearing up for an end of year exhibition. We study a form of Karate called Washinkai which is based on the form of Wado Ryu. Pupils will learn a variety of techniques including kicks, punches, locks, holds and throws. Karate is not and has never been about violence and pupils learn how Karate can be used in self-defence. We will also be entering pupils into competitions and hopefully in the future sending pupils to England Squad training. PE kit is more than adequate to start with; Karate suits, membership and grading fees are extra. Karate lessons can have face to face classes outside but with no contact. Mr Hacker has joined the ‘This Girl Can’ initiative. There will be no contact this term. Mr Hacker
