Numbers of Activities for each year group: 3rd Form pupils should choose a minimum of three activities per week 4th Form pupils should choose a minimum of three activities per week 5th Form pupils should choose a minimum of one activity per week 6th Form pupils are encouraged to choose a minimum of one activity per week
Choices will be made at the Activities Convention on Wednesday 5th January in the Memorial Hall (3rd Form - 4.30pm, 4th Form - 4.45pm, 5th & 6th Form - 5.00pm)
EVERY DAY TRINITY COLLEGE SPEECH & DRAMA COACHING To encourage and develop performance and communication skills for all levels and year groups. Coaching is delivered by Ms Grasby at a time during the week, sessions can be individual, in pairs or small groups in half blocks. UCAS points are accrued for Grade 6 and above. A charge is made dependent upon the size of the group. HG
TENNIS LESSONS Lessons are available every day with the professional tennis coach. Lessons can be individual or in pairs and a charge is made dependent upon the number in the group. Times will be arranged with individual pupils to suit. CF

Textiles (3rd Form) Theme: basic sewing projects. Maximum of 8. SML Lego The First Lego League is a national competition. You will be learning to programme using Lego Mindstorms. There are a number of tasks that the robots need to carry out. You will discuss the problem, build an extension to the robot and create a program to enable it to complete the task. If all goes to plan, you will be entered into the regional league in January to show off the team's talents. Do well here and you will be in the national league. Flourish here and you will be partaking in the international league. SAGR

Wind Quintet (L6th Form) This ensemble is by invitation only. Mrs Pugh
Beginners Silversmithing Pupils will learn the basic silversmithing skills to be able to create some beautiful pieces of work. We will be working with a variety of metals to start off with, moving on quickly to real sterling silver (.925). Projects include making bangles, rings, pendants, earrings, dog tags, cufflinks and more. Pupils will learn how to use the tools needed to work with silver including using the piercing saw, texturing hammer, letter stamps and how to file and polish. Open to 3rd Form, 4th Form and 5th Form pupils. Max 10 pupils. NW
Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award Walking and Cycling Pupils have an opportunity to gain the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award in this weekly slot. They have time to plan and review their expeditions and make progress with their online profiles. Places are limited. Open to the 5th form only. TEAL/GST

Big Band (5th & 6th Form) - PRIORITY ACTIVITY The Big Band is one of King's Bruton show case ensembles performing just about anything you can dance to! The band has raised money for both local and national charities, recorded 3 CDs and toured Spain twice. Any 5th or 6th Form pupils interested in joining the Big Band should see Mr Higgs. OMH

Classic tomes such as Frankenstein, War and Peace and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn can be daunting at first glance, but incredibly rewarding once mastered. A reading group can be just the motivating force necessary to help you conquer these several-hundredpage behemoths, so challenge yourself with this activity and see what all the fuss is about. Cinema Studies While we all enjoy a trip to the movies, it takes an understanding of the academic discipline of film studies to truly appreciate cinema as an art form. In each session you’ll be introduced to a different aspect of the discipline of film studies such as considerations of mise-en-scene, auteur theory, montage and genre, each supported with relevant clips from some of the world’s most influential films. Every session will combine both lecture and debate as we work to gain a better appreciation of the art of film. Mindfulness Would you like to have an hour in your week when you are able to stop, relax and reflect on what has happened during your day? Each week we will be looking at different ways that we can practice being mindful, from colouring to nature walks and yoga. All welcome however the activity will take place in year groups. RGL
