Grades will be determined by centres but awarded by Examination Boards.
Teacher judgements must be based on evidence, and we need to be able to provide this evidence if requested. Previous Assessments

Summer Assessment 2
We have been given autonomy to design our own assessments to suit our context. Examination boards will also provide some materials we can use. We will design assessments that support our students, taking into account the disruption over the last two years of schooling.
Schools have been asked to undertake Quality Assurance to make sure there is consistency across teachers. Examination boards will sample our evidence, judgements and QA processes.
Students will have the right to appeal their grades if they believe they are unfair, based on the evidence available. Appeals to do with judgement will be decided by the examination boards.
When deciding on grade distribution, we have been asked to use ‘the centre’s profile or results in previous years as a guide’. Specific guidance on arriving at grade boundaries is due to be released by examination boards before Easter.
We will not be able to tell students their final grades before results day. We are required to outline to you the evidence we intend to use, and we can tell students how they have performed on individual assessments.
