Freedom Place Painting Chris, chris.harrison@kingwoodumc.org

November 2nd | Morning November 16th | Afternoon Freedom Place is an extension of Arrow Ministry dedicated to helping minor girls who have been rescued from human trafficking. A few months ago KUMC began playing a supporting role for the girls, staff, and ministries of Freedom Place. What started in prayers and breakfast casseroles has now created an opportunity to do some painting in the homes of the girls. If you are interested in helping to do some indoor painting please contact Chris Harrison at chris. harrison@kingwoodumc.org.

KUMC Family Thanksgiving Meal November 24th | 5:00 pm The Gym I know it is always the right time to give thanks and praise to God, but let’s do it in a big way together! Serving tables will be found in the gym and seating will be available in the gym and also in the Commons as needed. So mark it on your calendar and bring your family, your appetite, and something from the following category (or let’s just be honest, you are going to bring whatever you want to bring). Let’s go with A-H bringing sides, I-Q bringing salads, and R-Z bringing breads and desserts. Meat and drinks will be provided. Bring enough for your car load and for several other families as well. Giving thanks with a grateful heart is what we do! Let’s do it together! Our Board of Stewards will be coordinating this event.

PRAYER REQUESTS Harvest Young Adult Retreat

Emily, emily.priesmeyer@kingwoodumc.org

The Harvest Bible Study class of 20 young adults and leaders will travel to Brenham, TX, November 14-17 to celebrate what God has done in their lives since the group formed earlier this year. The theme of the retreat is taken from 1 John 1:7, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from all sin.” The weekend’s activities will include guest speakers discussing their walks with Christ, along with worshipping together on Sunday. The Harvesters have been meeting every Thursday to study the Word, discuss how God is moving in their lives, enjoy a monthly meal together, share testimonies, and learn how to serve God’s Kingdom. Harvesters are high school graduates who work, go to college, come from diverse backgrounds and a variety of Christian denominations. Join us in prayer for the Holy Spirit to protect and lead the retreat so that each person there will experience the love of God that leads to a renewed relationship with Jesus Christ.

MONTHLY MISSION OFFERING kingwoodumc.org/monthly-mission-offering

Methodist Retirement Community and Pastors Benevolence Fund Chris, chris.harrison@kingwoodumc.org

Methodist Retirement Community (MRC) cares for approximately 2,000 senior adult residents throughout their system of living facilities. Amongst those numbers about 80 of them will not have the assets to cover the full cost of their care. To meet this challenge, MRC created a Benevolence Fund which keeps residents in their homes where they can continue to live with quality of life, dignity and respect. Please consider how you might financially support MRC as they care for those who once cared for us. In addition some of the money donated for the November MMO will be used in the KUMC pastor’s benevolence fund to support individuals and families who find themselves in need of a little extra financial help in a given circumstance. The pastor’s benevolence fund is used primarily for our church members in a discreet and loving way. Most outside support continues to be offered to our community through the Society of St. Stephens.

KUMC Annual Charge Conference On Monday, November 4th at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary, KUMC will meet for the annual Charge Conference.

NOVEMBER CALENDAR Happy Thanksgiving! Our offices will be closed 11/28 - 11/29 Visit kingwoodumc.org for additional information, to register for an event, or to donate.
