Tom tends to buy mainly frozen meals when he shops for groceries. He is a single father without much time to make food. As he shops, he sometimes wonders if there are any risks in eating like this - especially for his son.
At the self checkout kiosk, he gets the option of sending himself a report on how healthy he shops. He notices the fact that its an external company called ShopforHealth. He is interested and clicks yes, as he finishes paying.
Later that night, Tom sees the email from ShopforHealth in his inbox. He signs up for it and integrates his Giant Eagle advantage account to his profile.
ShopforHealth asks him a few quick questions about himself and his family.
ShopforHealth generates a report based on his family profile. Immediately, Tom realizes certain things about himself about the quantity and quality of the food he’s buying. He’s eating a lot of processed foods v.s whole foods and he’s not eating a balanced diet according to USDA’s recommendation.
Tom is also able to look at the trends in his food purchases. He can identify specific products that may have led to an imbalance as well as view substitutions for his purchased products that have higher points. This way he is able to generate a grocery list for future purchases.
The grocery list is generated based on his pattern of purchasing, the list also slowly adds food stuff that would make him a balanced eater. It also allows him to incorporate suggested product substitutions and manual additions to his list.
Tom prints out the personalized shopping list that ShopforHealth generates.
So that the next time Tom goes to the grocery store, he has the printed shopping list as a reference.
