With your wedding in mind, we have created a wedding guide to assist you with your planning. You’ll find plenty of choices, complemented by our knowledge and attentive staff of professionals who are committed to creating a memorable event for you and your guests.

CATERING MANAGER

Our Catering Manager will work with you on every aspect and detail of your special event. Ann has 10 years of wedding planning experience that she would love to share with you.

FOOD & BEVERAGE DIRECTOR

The day has finally arrived and you have carefully planned every moment of the day. Our Food & Beverage Director will be your on-site person that will keep things on track.

MENU

To provide our guests with the best possible event, Courtyard by Marriott® Ankeny requests that your menu selections be finalized no later than one (1) month prior to your event. Additional fees may apply for menu substitutions.

GUARANTEE

A guarantee number is due one (1) week in advance. The expected attendance will become the final guarantee, not subject to reduction.

SERVICE CHARGE & SALES TAX

Currently a 22% service charge and applicable state sales tax of 6% will be added to all food, beverage, audio visual and room rental charges. According to Iowa Tax Codes, service charges are subject to sales tax.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

No food or beverage of any kind may be brought into the hotel by client or his or her attendees without prior approval from your Event Manager. In addition, clients or their attendees may take no food or beverage of any kind out of the hotel We reserve the right to refuse alcohol services to intoxicated ersons and will not serve underage persons.

LOST & FOUND

Courtyard Ankeny assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to items left in a function room prior to, during or after an event.

STAFFING

Our server to guest ratio is 1 server per 20 guests for plated meals and 1 server per 40 guests for buffets.

SECURITY

If the Courtyard by Marriott® Ankeny deems security is required for your event, arrangements will be made at no added expense to the client.

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT

An initial non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required with the signed agreement to hold the space. The Courtyard by Marriott® Ankeny requires a credit card on file for any incidental charges incured during or following your event.

- 75% of the $6,000 minimum is due 90 days prior to the event.

- Final payment is due at least 10 business days prior to event date.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event that the reception is cancelled, any advance deposits will be applied towards your cancellation fee. A percent of the original estimated food, bar and room revenue will be due based upon the following schedule:

- 365 days prior to event date - 50% of the estimated balance due.

- 120 days prior to event date - 75% of the estimated balance due.

- 30 days prior to event date - 100% of the estimated balance due.

Start your wedding weekend off right. We’ll offer your group complimentary space for your event. Toast your “I Dos” in the perfect setting at Courtyard by Marriott Ankeny. Whether a sit-down dinner or a cocktail reception, our Catering Manager will create the fairytale beginning to your happily ever after. Please visit with your Catering Manager to learn more about Rehearsal Dinner options.

CEREMONY & RECEPTION

Wedding ceremonies are welcome at the Courtyard by Marriott Ankeny. Combine your ceremony and reception at one location. A fee of $500 will be added to your master bill if the room is required to be reset after the ceremony ends and before recption starts.

GIFT OPENING & BRIDAL SHOWER

Let us help you throw a Bridal Shower before the big day or celebrate the morning after with a Gift Opening in your complimentary space. Priced per person. Please visit with your Catering Manager to learn more about package options.
