AFFORDABLE HOUSING
The Mombasa County in line with the national Big Four agenda on affordable housing intends to undertake an aggressive programme aimed to regenerate old estates within Mombasa. This will ensure that the residents will access affordable modern housing with upgraded and greatly renewed support infrastructure.

The 52.4 acres site, located in Mvita Constituency, Mombasa County, is flanked by Ronald Ngala Rd (south), Swaleh Ng’uru Rd to the (North), Tom Mboya Street (East) and Mombasa Rd (West).

The estimated total population being 7,000 people while the site curently having a population of 2,500, the proposal will not only shelter an extra number but it will maximize on the potential of such a unique location.
The Saba Saba junction is an economical hub of this region ensures that business will improve due to the high number of shops along the edges of the site.

CONSERVATION OF MOMBASA OLD TOWN
The character of Mombasa city is often shaped not only by the physical attributes but also by the social and historical influences. This character often manifests into built form that is unique for every given urban setting which then translates into architectural heritage. It is therefore of paramount importance to ensure that this architectural heritage is conserved.

The Mji wa Kale Cultural centre is equipped with training classes and workshops. Shops, residentials and a Swahili Restaurant owners will rent the facilities out to obtain revenue for maintainance.

The Swahili Restaurant



With a capacity of 50 people, the restaurant not only boasts of having the best Swahili dishes in Mombasa Old town but also provides for jobs for the growing youth population.

MIXED URBAN DEVELOPMENT
The Mombasa Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (MOWASCO) is the owner of a vacant plot currently being used as a rubbish dump. MOWASCO is to develop the site to accommodate an urban project with mixed use including shops, foodcourts, restautrants, offices and residentials.

With a 90x30m plot, the design concept revolves around networking and connection between the spaces. The structure forms an urban community with all necesities in their reach. The guests in the facility could easily make a move from the public spaces, private spaces and offices without necessarily leaving the structure.

UNIVERSITY COMPLEX
Education being the key pillars of development of the youth, Technical University of Mombasa ensures the growth of this generation of mankind with a highly equiped modern university complex.

The 5.5 acres site, located in Mvita Constituency, Mombasa County, is flanked by Tom Mboya Street to the West and South and Swaleh Ng’uru Rd to the (North)
The project encompases of a student centre for recreation and socializing student hostels for accomodation and playing field. A dispensary, gymnasium, library, auditorium, food court are some of the facilities in the student centre.
