Brief Design and brand a range of themed greetings cards. Background / Considerations
What can be done to make these designs stand out? What is the theme going to be? eg. repeat pattern, animals, birthdays, valentines day etc. Is there more of a market for a card than can be used for a range of purposes? Consider what media can be used in order to make the cards high quality, is there a particular type of stock which makes cards seem more high end but are reasonable to produce? Who is the target audience for the cards or are there multiple ones? Consider the size appropriate for posting. Will these cards have a pre written message inside or is it better to leave them blank so each message can be unique to the sender?

Brief/Session/Document Title: Illustrative book
Brief
Design an illustrative book to promote a fellow creative.
Background / Considerations
Typically when a creative wants to promote themselves they use their own work and although personality comes through this there is still a lot to be learnt about them. How can you visually communicate a persons interests and inspiration instead of creating the typical fact book? Could it be pocket sized so that it can be displayed at an exhibition the creative may be part of? or does it need to be larger to communicate more successful if it is going to consist of visuals? Does the style of illustration need to be speciďŹ c to link to the creative too? Will a large colour pallet prove more visually interesting or going for a minimalistic one communicate more successfully? The creative needs to be part of the design process so the end product is something they feel works and best communicates them.

Brief/Session/Document Title: 2016 Olympics
Brief Design the logo for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Background / Considerations
I wasnʼt particularly a massive fan of the 2012 Olympic logo so thought I would take the opportunity to have a go at designing the logo for the next Olympics. Rio is well known for its bright, bold and beautiful carnival celebration parades so this is definitely something to focus on when consider colour and style for the new logo. How can personality shine through this logo and reflect the values and positiveness of Rio? It needs to be understood worldwide so this is something to consider within the design. It also needs to be easily recognized and work across a vast range of products that come with the olympics for example, the clothing the volunteers wear and any merchandise that is likely to be sold.

Brief
Design a range of elements to be put into a childrenʼs gift pack themed around penguins.
Background / Considerations
There are plenty of penguin fact books, adoption packs etc already existing but nothing really comes together as a set so this product could be a unique venture. Making the products specific to children means the design and the elements within the gift pack can be fun and colourful. This brief needs to be research driven because there needs to be a full understanding of the penguin and the products that can be created based on this. How can what is already existing for these products be taken and made more appropriate for children? How can the product(s) be packaged to be shown as a complete set?
