aut international house (aut ih)
New Zealand lies in the South Pacific 1600Km south-east of Australia, its nearest neighbour.
AUT International House is one of New Zealand’s leading English language-teaching organisations. It is the English language school for international students at AUT University. Many International students studying English at AUT IH continue their studies in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at AUT University.
New Zealand’s spectacular scenery and ‘clean green’ reputation abroad make it a popular destination for many travellers. Students who come to NZ can easily combine language study with outdoor adventures such as bushwalking, skiing, snowboarding and bungy-jumping as well as experiencing city life in our larger centres. NZ has a relaxed lifestyle and New Zealanders are well known for their friendly and welcoming attitude to visitors, and the English we speak is easy to understand.
AUT International House is also the only New Zealand affiliate to the International House World Organisation, a global educational trust dedicated to improving the standard of English language learning and teacher training worldwide. Our affiliation ensures quality and standards are met through regular IHWO inspection visits.
Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city and is the commercial capital of the country. It has a population of around 1.5 million and is located between two beautiful harbours, which means you are never far from the sea. Auckland provides visitors with a variety of sightseeing activities, world-class restaurants, art galleries, theatres and concert venues as well as many parks and beaches close to the centre of the city. The climate is mild with temperatures ranging from 11°C in winter (JuneSeptember) to 24°C in summer (December-March) with the wettest months being June- August.
