Course description The ESOL Qualification has been designed to enable students to improve their everyday English language skills, communicate effectively in English language and prepare for future careers. This qualification develops the structures, vocabulary and language knowledge for operating successfully in as English speaking environment. Based around the four key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, the qualification enables students to improve their English across all areas at the same time. Course description
Graduates will have achieved a level of English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 and will be prepared to undertake an IELTS examination at this level. Graduates will have also developed skill in exam preparation, writing and research that will assist them in transition to further study in a tertiary institution.

NZIM Diploma in Management (level 5) Full-time 36 weeks (2 semesters) (120 credits) Course description The Diploma in Management course consists of six papers from the NZ Diploma in Business or their equivalent in other qualifications. It focuses on business communication and management techniques. Course outcomes Graduates will have knowledge and skills relating to general management, business communication, working in groups, applied research and leadership.
Pathway to a university degree with cross credits Successful completion of the NZIM Diploma in Management provides graduates about 1 year credit towards the New Zealand Diploma in Business in New Zealand. Different universities internationally have different policies on cross crediting, but it is possible to obtain as many as six papers as cross credits for further tertiary degree study in New Zealand.
Course duration The NZIM Diploma in Management may be completed in two semesters of full time study. Course outcomes
Graduates will be able to meet the client needs in aged care, community and disability settings. They will have knowledge of healthcare and the New Zealand Healthcare system from a theoretical and practical focus. Clinical placement supports the student practical application of their theoretical knowledge. An integral part of the course is tikanga practices to support the hauora of Maori. The students are also introduced to business management papers to prepare them for team leadership roles. This course does not lead to

Entry requirements for international students
International students must be 18 years of age or over to enrol in the Diploma in Healthcare Studies. International students, where English is a second language, must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent with no band less than 5.0. It is expected that the student will improve the language capacity to at least a 6.0 band during the course. Students will undertake an English competency test in the first week and will attend a language support class in the first semester of the programme.
Clinical placement
A key component of this programme is the completion of 150 hours clinical placement, per semester, in healthcare environments.
