Opening in 2021, the Mercantile Exchange has become a trusted member of the community as our customers have quickly grown in numbers. They are delighted to see new faces each day and consider their customers their friends. ‘We truly appreciate all the support of each and every person who has taken time to welcome us and support us’ says owner Doug Fields. He and his family live in Pleasant Garden too, and are excited to provide a premium food store and busy vendor marketplace to this area. Doug’s desire to bring better and healthier food options to the area is foremost for him each day. His passion is to help the Mercantile customers and their families eat better to live better by providing healthy, fresh food options that taste great. Focusing on locally produced meats, produce, and other grocery items, the Mercantile team has a close relationship with farmers and suppliers, many of whom are part of the Pleasant GardenGreensboro community. Many grocery stores offer processed foods that have been modi ed, laden with preservatives and chemicals, and meats that have added coloring and avoring. The products the Mercantile offers steers toward foods that come directly from the area farms so each one naturally tastes more like it’s meant to taste. The store’s product line is growing constantly and features seasonable items such as Hershey's Strawberry ice cream in the summer and Pumpkin Spice Carolina Coffee in the fall. They are one of the only area sources for gourmet desserts like Peanut Butter Pie and Key Lime Pie and carry products from the popular “The Porch” restaurant in Winston-Salem. Town Of Franklinville News SOMETHING NEW IN FRANKLINVILLE Take a drive through Main St./Andrew Hunter Rd. and see the banners hanging from the silos at what was the former roller mill property! These beautiful banners are advertising the NC Textile Museum that will be located in Franklinville in the future. As you can “see” the play on the spelling of the word museum invites everyone to come visit and ”see” the history of textiles in our community! While you are checking out the banners, check out the work that is being done in that area. A new wood and brick fence has been built and is a beautiful addition! The property is being cleaned up for a future Open Air Mill Village Museum. As you can see, several projects are in the works to bring visitors to our Town! Thank you to the Randolph Heritage Conservancy for keeping our history alive in Franklinville!
