3 Natural Hacks to Keep a Clean Kitche (StatePoint) Are you looking to avoid harsh chemicals in the place where you prepare and eat food? Hoping to green your clean? Here are three natural hacks for keeping a healthy and tidy kitchen 1. Ditch the paper towels: Whether you’re quickly wiping up a spill or doing a deep clean, it’s easy to forget that the paper towel you’re using was once a tree, and in many cases, part of a virgin forest. To clean more effectively, reduce your impact on deforestation and climate change, and minimize waste, switch to reusable towels or rags

tubs and tile, the garage, laundry room and outdoor spaces like the patio and deck 3. Go green, literally: Houseplants are not only beautiful to look at, they can actually improve the air quality of your indoor spaces. Hang planters or clear your kitchen window sills to make room for airpurifying houseplants. When selecting the varieties of plants you will cultivate, keep in mind that kitchens tend to be higher humidity For a truly clean kitchen, skip the harsh chemicals. Using natural methods, you can clean just as effectively, worry-free

2. Use worry-free cleaning ingredients: Harnessing the power of baking soda, Arm & Hammer Essentials Kitchen Cleaner offers a natural way to clean and deodorize your kitchen and other spaces throughout your home. Comprised of simple ingredients like baking soda and plant-based detergents, the cleaner contains no bleach, ammonia, phosphates or other harsh chemicals. It’s both strong enough to remove food, grease and other tough stains, but also gentle enough to clean your glass cooktop, stainless steel appliances, countertops, and food contact surfaces when used as directed. While formulated for the kitchen, this baking soda-based product can be used almost anywhere, including bathroom sinks,

Protein is a building block for your body. It is one of the three primary macronutrients alongside fats and carbohydrates. There are numerous benefits to protein consumption including muscle rebuilding, boosts in immune system, reduced cravings and curbed appetite. How much protein should you consume? This question can vary based on a persons lifestyle, specific goals and overall health. The general rule of thumb is 10-35% of your daily caloric intake. This does vary and you should consult a professional. A great website to help calculate your protein is www.calculator.net/protein Where can I find good sources of protein? There are numerous meats, dairy, vegetables and supplements available to you as a consumer. Reading nutrition labels is the key. You want to double check how much protein is in your food selection - per serving. Google the protein macro nutrients of your food; for example, a 3oz serving of chicken / protein - will show an average of about 23 grams of protein.

Opening in 2021, the Mercantile Exchange has become a trusted member of the community as our customers have quickly grown in numbers. They are delighted to see new faces each day and consider their customers their friends. ‘We truly appreciate all the support of each and every person who has taken time to welcome us and support us’ says owner Doug Fields. He and his family live in Pleasant Garden too, and are excited to provide a premium food store and busy vendor marketplace to this area. Doug’s desire to bring better and healthier food options to the area is foremost for him each day. His passion is to help the Mercantile customers and their families eat better to live better by providing healthy, fresh food options that taste great. Focusing on locally produced meats, produce, and other grocery items, the Mercantile team has a close relationship with farmers and suppliers, many of whom are part of the Pleasant GardenGreensboro community. Many grocery stores offer processed foods that have been modi ed, laden with preservatives and chemicals, and meats that have added coloring and avoring. The products the Mercantile offers steers toward foods that come directly from the area farms so each one naturally tastes more like it’s meant to taste. The store’s product line is growing constantly and features seasonable items such as Hershey's Strawberry ice cream in the summer and Pumpkin Spice Carolina Coffee in the fall. They are one of the only area sources for gourmet desserts like Peanut Butter Pie and Key Lime Pie and carry products from the popular “The Porch” restaurant in Winston-Salem. Low homogenized Rand-Lew Dairy Milk is a favorite of those with lactose issues, allowing them to enjoy milk again. And of course, locally made Samsons Sauce, and Boar and Castle Sauce are staples in area kitchens. The Mercantile Exchange’s unique shopping experience is even more exciting when visiting the marketplace half of our store. The marketplace contains over 50 rentable spaces offering hundreds of items for sale by local vendors. The vendors’ enthusiasm for providing interesting and sought-after products for sale is evident on your rst visit. From handmade crafts and repurposed items, to upscale interior design pieces custom signs and collectibles, the marketplace is a treasure trove for anyone looking for a special gift or for something to brighten up and bring new life to their home décor. The Marketplace is also a great option for small businesses wanting to advertise their products.

Town Of Franklinville News SOMETHING NEW IN FRANKLINVILLE Take a drive through Main St./Andrew Hunter Rd. and see the banners hanging from the silos at what was the former roller mill property! These beautiful banners are advertising the NC Textile Museum that will be located in Franklinville in the future. As you can “see” the play on the spelling of the word museum invites everyone to come visit and ”see” the history of textiles in our community! While you are checking out the banners, check out the work that is being done in that area. A new wood and brick fence has been built and is a beautiful addition! The property is being cleaned up for a future Open Air Mill Village Museum. As you can see, several projects are in the works to bring visitors to our Town! Thank you to the Randolph Heritage Conservancy for keeping our history alive in Franklinville!
