Welcome Oaks Beans, Hops and Vine. Lets learn a little more about this place. “We are a Family owned and operated business. Mike has been in sales for 27 years and decided he wanted a change. He has always dreamed of having a craft beer and wine shop. He loves coffee and said that he didn’t just want to work in the evenings so he added gourmet coffee. Little did he know at that time he really likes exploring the different flavors of coffee. Our shop offers gourmet espresso coffee, regular coffee known as cup of oaks, 6 rotating craft beer on tap, variety of craft beers and domestics, and wine. We are so happy to be apart of Liberty and look forward to meeting everyone. We are located at 251 N Asheboro Street Liberty Forest Oak’s, and Siler City for coming out. We received so customer. He

Had the most amazing exhausting weekend.. all hats off to John Gilbert and Cowboy... They worked till 6am Saturday and all night Sunday to make this happen... It is beautiful... John your talent and determination amazes me.. The hugs and precious moments I will cherish forever...Cowboy your talent and patience exceeded anything you ever have done .. And through it all you kept checking on me to make sure I was okay .. I cried and cried watching you both up there side by side at work.. For those that don't know the cross you can read from the ground ..The Lord gave me the scripture and comfort... To You Tabitha Gilbert for staying with us through the entire weekend and helping with all the layout.. You will always be my Tiger. To all the town family that stopped and offered encouragement and drinks... And for the ones that stopped needing work done...Thank you all... I love you .

Liberty Grounds is a proud family and veteran-owned business in the heart of downtown Liberty, NC, established by Ginger and Paul VanNess. Originally from Cana, VA, and Greensboro, NC respectively, Ginger and Paul married in 2016 and moved to Liberty, NC, with their 5 children. While Ginger, a healthcare worker, and Paul, an electrical technician and HVAC contractor, previously had no prior experience in the coffee industry, they both recognized a need in the community for a welcoming gathering place. Despite their backgrounds, they were driven by a shared passion for creating a space where people could come together, relax, enjoy a beverage and each other’s company. Their son, Eli, an aspiring chef, adds a special touch to the experience by crafting all the house-made syrups, chai, and specialty drink recipes, ensuring a

PGHS Has New Head Coach !!!
Amy Heilig, Wife of Head Coach Mark Heilig says its best, “I can finally post the news! If it’s on Facebook then it must be true! My husband is the Head Coach of PGHS Varsity Football! We have been praying for this title for several years! I can’t brag on our God enough for how the way was made for my fella to be in this position at this time. God is the Way Maker! Mark had pretty much given up on the chance of this happening. But God, last Friday evening made it happen. Our family is extremely grateful and humbled to serve our PG community in this role. For such a time as this, and we are thankful that the way was made for our time.”
I love church. Church has been a place that has helped me. Some of the greatest moments of my life have happened in the church. Some of the greatest people I have ever met, I met through the church. Unfortunately there are many who do not feel this way. With September 15th being National Back to Church Sunday, I wanted to take a moment to look at some reasons people that have gone to church just don't anymore.
For some, it is because you were hurt or done wrong. I get it. It is never easy to go back to a place where you were brought pain, but can I say this, that was people not Jesus. Throughout history there have been people that did things in the name of Christianity or Christ but were the furthest things from what Jesus taught. Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. He is the giver of grace, hope, mercy and love. In fact He was willing to suffer beyond comprehension just for you.
Another reason I hear people say no to church is that there are hypocrites there. When this statement is made what is typically implied is that they have seen people claim to know God but live outside the church in a very ungodly way. Being honest, there are some hypocrites in churches. I don't like admitting that, but it is the truth. Yet with that said, not everyone in church is. Instead of focusing on those who are not living a spirit filled Christian life, why not focus on those that are? Rather than letting those that are "hypocrites" push you out of church, let those that are sincere push you to be a better Christian. In addition, what if you made decisions in other areas of your life with the same process.? I imagine if we went to your favorite restaurant, clothing store or sporting event we like find hypocrites there as well but it won't hinder us from returning. How sad that we would be more dedicated to a cheeseburger or sports team than we would to Almighty God.
Then others just haven't been in a long time or have never been. It's hard making that first step in anything. Especially when it involves going to a new place with people you don't know. Thoughts of what will it be like, who will be there what will happen. Can I tell you, more than the people, go to church to find God! Jesus said in Matthew 7
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened
If you go with an open heart seeking Him, you will probably find exactly what you are looking for!
So whether it is your first time, or the first time in a long time, give church another try. September 15th is a great opportunity to get started or get started again. While there are many good churches to go to, if you don't have a place you are always welcome to be my guest at Community Baptist in Siler City!
So Who Is This Pink Swan?
We are Pink Swan Thrift, a christian family team aspiring to serve our community to the best of our
From an early age, Brittany loved to go to yard sales and flea markets: So much so it became her dream to run a thriving thrift store. A supportive mom, Kathy encouraged this ambition. On September 1st, 2020, we opened Pink Swan Thrift, named for Brittany's favorite color Pink along with Kathy's passion for Swans. On July 1st, 2024 we relocated from the spot across from Randleman middle school to a larger space at 718 South Main Street Randleman just a few miles away.
We at Pink Swan are always looking for event opportunities, and so far a few have been: * Christmas Angel Tree: where the community can unite and help give a good Christmas to children who might not otherwise have one.
* School Supply Drive: We fill as many bags as possible for children and families right before school starts to help with financial burdens.
* Small Business Saturday: We try monthly to give local businesses an alternate venue to showcase items and interact with community members. We have assisted local business owner Sandy White with "THE PEDDLER'S WORKSHOP" with making small pillows to add with her custom tumblers for bags for the homeless.
All of our clothing is washed before being put out for sale. We have a "FILL A BAG FoR $5.00 outside daily for clothing overstock, and from time to time hold sales to assist the community in being able to afford necessities. If there is a clothing need ( burnouts, accidents, foster needs, etc.) we try to fill those needs on the spot.
We are not the average thrift store: each of our customers, and all who walk through our doors we consider family and friends. We are honored every time someone decides to become one of our customers.
If you have questions about filling community needs, participating in small business Saturday, attending Wednesday evening bible study, adding to our prayer board or having prayers on the spot, or if you just want to see a smiling face, we'd love to see you at Pink Swan Thrift. And beginning September 13, 2024 at 6pm we will be hosting BINGO!

The dawn of a new era and notable growth:
Randolph Community College kicks off 62nd school year
Randolph Community College’s Asheboro Campus was filled with excitement Friday, Aug. 16, as the college community gathered for the annual Fall Convocation, marking the start of RCC’s 62nd academic year. Students returned to campus Monday, Aug. 19, for the beginning of the Fall Semester with the College experiencing a significant increase in enrollment and new hires. As a springboard for the new school year, RCC President/CEO Dr. Shah Ardalan harkened back to the first-ever brochure for the College, entitled “Earning Through Learning.” “‘Earning through Learning’ remains as impactful today as it was in 1961,” he said. “With RCC 2.0, we’re honoring six decades of tradition while driving forward with a focus on being more Relevant, Career-centered, and Committed than ever before.” Ardalan shared accomplishments from the past year, including healthy enrollment growth in Curriculum, Continuing Education, and Career and College Promise programs, and visible signs of progress and preparedness such as rebranding, extended renovations, repairs, and campus beautifications. Ardalan thanked local legislators and county commissioners for funding more than $13 million in projects, including the purchase of 22 acres of land in Liberty, the Applied Industrial Artificial Intelligence Center of North Carolina (AI2C) design and construction, and facilities upgrades for Toyota training. Other accomplishments mentioned were the Nursing program’s 100percent pass rate for the fourth consecutive year, the 100-percent pass rate of the Truck Driver Training students, and $800,000 in grants to start Mammography and expand the Radiology program. Lastly, Ardalan said the most significant organizational accomplishment is the alignment of all Curriculum, Workforce Development and Continuing Education offerings, and Student Services under a One College model. Looking ahead, with confidence from trustees and enthusiasm from faculty and staff, the College’s enrollment goal for 2024-2025 is 10,000 with plans for 15,000 by 2030. Ardalan ended by using the motto — Believe, Inspire, Transform: Thrive Together! “As a community, we must wholeheartedly believe in our mission and in the potential of our students.,” he said. “We must be inspired and, in turn, inspire our students to drive the transformation of our college, community, and region. By igniting passion and shaping minds, we pave the way for growth and prosperity. But this journey requires unity. Together, we will not only meet but exceed our goals, ensuring a thriving future for all.” Chair of the RCC Board of Trustees Reynolds Lisk, who was joined by Board members Alvin Battle, Lisa Hayworth, Jonathan Matson, Bob Morrison, Cynthia Schroder, Andy Sykes, welcomed all in attendance. “As we embark on this new academic year, I want to take a moment to express how truly excited I am for what lies ahead,” Lisk said. “I had the pleasure of being back on campus Wednesday, and I was struck by the energy, the bustling activity, and the remarkable transformation of our campus. The new pavement, the cleaning, and the resurfacing — it is all coming together beautifully. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our facilities team. These dedicated individuals have been working tirelessly, and their hard work is clearly paying off. “Regardless of your role at RCC, each of you plays a vital part in the success of our college. Your work, regardless of your position, is essential to our mission. We deeply appreciate each of you because you are the heart and soul of this institution. We simply could not do what we do without your dedication.” The College’s vice presidents introduced new employees, and Student Government Association President Lera Foust shared encouraging words. “We students are all growing, changing, and still learning,” she said. “You are growing, changing, and learning beside us — and listening to us along the way. I promise you if we work together, this year will be RCC’s best.” Randolph Community College (RCC), under the leadership of President/CEO Dr. Shah Ardalan, is committed to providing relevant career training and educational opportunities. Affordable degrees and short-term certificate programs start throughout the year, both in person and online. For more information, call 336-633-0200 or visit www.randolph.edu and expect to engage with the most competent and compassionate team of faculty and staff.
