Randolph County Public Libraries (RCPL) announces celebration events for newly installed StoryWalks in Franklinville and Liberty. The Franklinville and Liberty library branches will showcase the newly installed StoryWalks during the months of May and June. Franklinville will host a StoryWalk Festival at Riverside Park on Saturday, May 21 from 1-3 p.m. with music, face-painting, activity stations, and tasty treats. Each child that completes all of the activities may enter to win a free scooter. Liberty will feature the StoryWalk at Paul Henry Smith Park on Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of Liberty’s Juneteenth Celebration with vendors, food, music, games, and prizes A StoryWalk is an outdoor, active way to read a book. Two pages of a picture book are posted on panels that are installed 20-30 paces apart. Readers walk from one to the next, getting a snippet of the story each time. In this way, reading becomes an active experience that is engaging for children and adults. The RCPL StoryWalks will feature fun and engaging bilingual books geared toward preschool and early elementary age kids. RCPL, in partnership with Randolph Partnership for Children, applied for and received a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the State Library in 2021 in the amount of $10,800. The grant funds covered the cost of the xtures to create permanent StoryWalks in Franklinville and Liberty. The Towns of Franklinville and Liberty installed the xtures. Liberty debuted its StoryWalk in December 2021, with the Franklinville StoryWalk following in March of 2022.

Congratulations to Ezer Wellness on their Grand Opening / Ribbon Cutting Ceremony last month! Thank you to everyone who came out and showed their support for your fellow Chamber Member! We wish you the best of luck for years to come and excited to have you as part of our business community! A little about Ezer Wellness! Ezer Wellness was founded by Deanna Scotton, a Master Herbalist, who graduated from New Eden School of Natural Health & Herbal Studies. When Deanna was 16 years old, she was diagnosed with Ehrlici and Lyme Disease, which led to years of doctor’s appointments and treatments. With every year, it was harder to determine what was from the initial illness and what was from side effects. This journey led her to a Naturopath. She was the only one who truly helped Deanna understand how to reach wellness. For the first time in years, there were answers without side effects. Soon after she began to see this naturopath, she realized she passed Lyme Disease onto all three of her children. Times were tough managing each child with their symptoms, as well as her own. Diet, natural remedies, and faith in Jesus were the only things that helped. After going through her naturopath program, she realized that this was what she truly wanted to do. Many had already come to her for advice on health and what to do. Deanna’s family has been through their own journey and because of this, it leads her to be compassionate towards others. It helps her understand the great need for those to educate the public on how to take care of our bodies before we hit the doctor’s office. True wellness starts with the willingness to change your lifestyle, habits, and perspective that we have been so ingrained in. It takes time, investments, and adjustments but the lasting results are worth it. Located at 113 W Starmount Ave Liberty, NC 27298 Hours of operation are; Monday-Friday 12-5 / Saturday 9-5

This wasn’t taught! It was “Inspired”!!! got an A+ for this entry Just another day at the who of ce. Barbara Emery, Assistant Center Director at the Liberty Center, expertly (TOTALLY AWESOME)! lassoes a “horse” duringThe a group Lord’sactivity. Prayer Want is notto have as much fun as Barbara? Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd. If scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now. Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That’s no o ense; it’s a freedom scene.. The law is speci c, the law is precise. Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hall Might o end someone with no faith at all.. In silence alone we must meditate, God’s name is prohibited by the State.. We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks… They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen, And the ‘unwed daddy,’ our Senior King. It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong, We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong.. We can get our condoms and birth controls, Study witchcraft, v a m p i r e s a n d t o t e m p o l e s … B u t t h e Te n Commandments are not allowed, No word of God must reach this crowd. It’s scary here I must confess, When chaos reigns the school’s a mess. So, Lord, this silent plea I make: Should I be shot; My soul please take! Amen

BODY BALANCE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE INTRODUCES ASHIATS You might have seen the word Ashiatsu (pronounced Ah-shee - Oughtsu) in Body Balance Therapeutic Massage posts and website lately, but I wanted to take some time to explain a little further about what it is and who is it best suited for. What is it? Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage uses the trained massage therapists soles of their feet to deliver a deep tissue massage. By using gravity and body mechanics, the therapist can use the soles of their feet as a broad surface to cover and cup the muscle more effectively than pokey ngers and elbows. A common misconception is that the therapist is "walking" on your back, but this is not the case. Licensed massage therapists have extensive training and education in kinesiology and know where your muscles run and where organs lay, so we are precise in our foot placement. Most work is performed with one foot, more advanced techniques are performed with two feet for body some body structures

Read more at www.bodybalancetherapeuticmassagellc.com and see why folks love coming to BBTM. -All the Best Jaime Pike L.M.B.T Body Balance Therapeutic Massag 336.715.022 www.bodybalancetherapeuticmassagellc.com

Who is it for? Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage is classi ed as a deep tissue massage, if you enjoy deep tissue work, this will be a perfect t. Why are you bringing this modality to Liberty? Did you know that the average career of a massage therapist can be only 8-10 years? This modality is not only great for the clients, but it is mutually bene cial to the massage therapist, allowing them to stay in the career for extended amounts of time. This will allow me to support you, longer, lessening the chance of injury, burn-out, wear and tear on my body. Essentially meaning, I will be hear to help you longer. I'll still use my hands for relaxation massages, injury rehabilitation, intricate neck work, etc. Here's clients are saying: "I've been coming to Jaime for a while now and this was my favorite massage yet! I felt more relaxed, pressure was perfect, hit every spot! Best Massage EVER!" Brooke H "I feel great! It felt deeper but relaxing. I have changed all my massages to Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage." Travis P "I felt more relaxed, calm and had less tension afterwards. Jaime is very knowledgeable and she nds all the spots with her feet just as she does with her hands." Ashley G "I have never in my life received such an amazing massage. I have come to Jaime since she opened and Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage is just a different level of tension release and relaxation." Betty M "I felt that Jaime had broader contact with the muscle, very uid, constant. I feel extremely relaxed!" Jason T "I swear my back has not felt this good in a don't know how long! Girl! I am wiggling and dancing here at work. LOL" Christina A

May 2022

May is Older Americans Month and the theme is ‘Age My Way’. The focus is on Aging in Place and how older adults can stay in their home and live independently for as long as possible. For nearly ve decades, the Randolph Senior Adults Association and the Liberty Senior Center has helped older adults remain active, engaged, and independent in our community. Whether members are learning a new skill, taking a walk, enjoying a day trip, striking a yoga pose or creating a craft, our mission is to create a socially pleasant and positive experience for everyone. With a growing active aging population, we are encouraging healthy living for each individual that steps through our doors. Consider joining Center Director Kaffy Reynolds and Assistant Director Barbara Emery for special programming in honor of Older American’s Month, including activities like A Day in the Park, an Ice Cream Social, painting with The Preppy Possum, Needlework Club, Tai Chi classes, Mother’s Day craft classes, and more! We know that everyone’s needs are unique and we are here to try to provide something for everyone. If you have not checked out the Liberty Senior Center, we encourage you to stop by this month and nd out why life is great when you participate! Come age your way with us In addition to the Liberty Senior Center, Randolph Senior Adults Association operates Senior Centers in Archdale, Asheboro, and Randleman—as well as Our Place Adult Day Care. Contact the Liberty Senior Center at 336-622-5844 to learn more or visit www.senioradults.org
